Homeless mother n daughter they don’t have any rooms. Marion county doesn’t help. Don’t know how y’all get donations. Just to leave families on the streets. Very disappointed

I'm not sure why these people are even in operation when they seem to never have any funds to help people. Every single time I've called they tell me they have no funds so what are they even doing, collecting donations and keeping them?

How is it that you are trying to get help with things you possibly need, yet the receptionist speaks to you with an attitude and down like she is a queen look here your job is to inform and direct people to where they need to be your job title doesn't entitle you to be mad you are to help and serve your community if you can't handle this get another job young people think that the older community can't speak I would hate for something to happen to you because of your mouth you still HAVE TO RESPECT YOUR ELDERS. That's in the Bible law.maybe you should learn something.never will I go there again

I held off on giving my review for quite a while now. I had my reasons. I just want to say thank you so much for this salvation army shelter. It's exactly what I needed at that moment it actually showed me some things about myself. The staff was very kind. Are they the best of conditions no place is perfect. The point is they are there to help people in need and that's exactly what they do. Some of the things I didn't understand as far as the way they did things. But it just wasn't meant for me to understand that. They were just doing their job the way they were taught to do their job. I learned a little bit of humility here. So thanks again for taking me in from off of the street and being a blessing in my life especially Miss Becky. I really really appreciate y'all. May God continue to bless you as you help other people in need

When I needed a place to stay they let me stay in their shelter. Made sure I didn't have to go a few blocks in my wheel chair I was able to eat in their kitchen and was able to stay in the building during the day until the shelter opened back up!

I would never call these people again.i just spoke to a woman there because i am homeless with my 4 small children and have no family.i wasnt even thru explaining my experience and she stops me and said so what is it that you want me to do about it.when i got upset she got a worse attitude. Times like these we already feel so hopeless but for her to be so cold.

Lady on the phone said I couldn't stay in the homeless shelter here because I am too physically disabled, and too handicap, and that the Salvation Army homeless shelter doesn't let homeless people stay here if they are cripple and not able to walk around the town to get applications, but I'm disabled and can't walk and so since I am bed bound she said I couldn't stay there because the homeless men have to leave the shelter every day and can't stay in bed and in her words "be lazy" I have a spinal cord injury, arthritis, asthma, congestive heart failure, lung failure, lymphedema, and I'm mentally ill. There's not one single person in this world that would hire me especially since I'm 550 lbs, but the lady on the phone was rude, uncaring, insensitive, and a poor example of a Christian. She didn't care that I had no home, food, and water, and that I am unable to stand or walk. I use a walker, but what am I going to do now. Sleep on a park bench in the rain and get eaten by an alligator or killed by some criminal. It's like WTH? ! I don't even drink, smoke, or do drugs, but because I am literally crippled and can't walk or work the christian homeless shelter won't let me stay there. Jesus would be ashamed of her and your business!

By the Grace of God; This is a safe place and a good place for immediate help. But they always need monetary donations so they can continue to help the surrounding community. Dinner is at 5pm and open to the public for Dinner. It's a blessing to be given a hot meal at least once a day.

For the Record
On the Record,

While doing my intake I was mocked and harassed because of my religion. I specifically told the case manager that my I wear my headdress for religious purposes and that she can ask my Rabbi if she didn't believe me. She made an extremely inappropriate remark that, "Oh every one has their fashion statements. " After I explicitly stated that my turban is for religions purposes. So once again, for the Record on the Record, my turban and crown are worn for religious purposes. My religions headgear is NOT a fashion statement, it is to show my devotion to Elohyim. Forcibly removing my head wrap is a Federal Hate Crime and violation of my God given rights. 13
Also, they refused to accommodate me, having me miss out on numerous meals serving me pork and everytime I stated I cannot eat pork because of religious reasons, they taunted me and bullied me. I was told to stop complaining about pork. CAIR will be contacted and informed.
