Samurai Blue Sushi and Sake Bar, Tampa FL

Disorganized and slow! I’ve been waiting for 15 minutes for my order and there are literally 20 boxes of food sitting on the counter the entire time I’m waiting and nobody is packing it! Meanwhile, the “manager” is fiddling around behind the bar acting like a chicken with her head cut off! Instead of packing my stuff (that’s PAID FOR) she’s wasting time calling people telling them that their order is going to be 45 minutes to an hour.
Meanwhile, there’s maybe all of 15 customers in the entire restaurant. Not even that busy in here!
What happens when they ARE busy? ! Does she and the entire place explode? !

This restaurant is amazing. The service is great and they work with any dietary restrictions. There are ways to make rose dairy free and there are some vegetable sushi options for those who do not eat meat. The atmosphere is nice and it tends to be quiet so you can have an intimate sushi dinner with either friends or a significant other.

This place never disappoints. From interesting sushi plates to welcoming service, they do everything right.

The sushi left something to be desired despite the 15$ price for the speciality rolls. The Mexican roll was the best of the three we had which was the Hawaiian and Spontaneous Combustion. The Hawaiian roll just too overcomplicated with the macadamia nuts, just awful on a sushi roll. Spontaneous combustion was good but again, not worth it to me. Probably won’t ever come back despite the good location and modern atmosphere.

We came a bit late so we were seated immediately. We did wait a while to get served but we totally forgot about it once our waiter came and served us. He was super friendly and informative. He took the time to answer our questions which was awesome because we didn’t feel rushed although it was close to closing time. The sushi was pretty epic. By far the freshest I’ve had in Tampa. There was one roll I didn’t like in particular but it was still good nonetheless. I can’t wait to go back.

My hot tea came on a chipped cup. I asked for a new cup and the waiter didn't think it was possible. Seriously? He went back and found a different cup, apparently they only have 2 tea cups. Food was good. Service was lacking, inattentive, waiter gave us the wrong bill and didn't seem to care too much. This used to be our go to Sushi restaurant. We will be looking for a new place, unfortunate.

Abdul was very attentive and made sure from ordering to paying the bill all was good. Best service ever.

Incredible ambiance and fantastic food. The restaurant has a wonderful minimalist modern Japandi styling with low & cozy lighting. The booths feel very private and intimate. Music was good too if I recall correctly. Portions were generous and the food was delicious! My favorites were the agedashi tofu and the hamachi kama — and both were the best I have ever had. Seemed to have a large assortment of drinks to choose from as well.
First pick for date night or a company gathering. Wouldn’t suggest as much for a family with small children; it’s a more mature, relaxed environment.

Place seemed mysterious and usually closed. Went Friday night and it was popular. Best sushi, and actually, sashimi, I've had in Tampa. I'm not fancy, just love very high quality fish. It was great.

Unfortunately the wait time for a pick up order was excessive - called in a phone order at 6: 55pm - was told ready in 25 minutes. Well here I am standing at the bar for over an hour the food is not ready for pick up. Was told 25 minutes, been standing at the bar waiting for my order for a ridiculous amount of time. If you can’t hire more staff it’s because you aren’t paying enough money. Won’t be coming back.

This is hands down my favorite Sushi restaurant in Tampa. I never leave here disappointed. The Tuna Summer of Love roll is my favorite.

As a whole experience it was great. We were sat immediately and waited on within minutes. The drinks and food did take longer than expected but not enough to ruin the experience. Food was delicious and portions were adequate. Friendly staff and the atmosphere was pleasant.

One of the best sushi in Tampa I've tried! Waiters are super attentive and funny.definitely love the lobster roll and the baked crab

Quick lunch, everyone was very friendly and accommodating! The vegetarian sushi was absolutely delicious, definitely recommend.

Love Samurai Blue, the rolls are all so unique and have so much flavor! The Red Devil Roll is by far our favorite, the sauce is incredible. The crispy spicy tuna is another roll not to be missed.

We love going to the one in Ybor, and this location was fantastic too! Great service. Nice and quiet and private seating. The food is incredible. Everything is delicious! One of the best places for sushi and crab Rangoon and dumplings!
