We stayed in Sanford for thanksgiving weekend as we visited family that lives in Sorrento.first time to sanford, a previous guest at our airbnb recommended the museum. We visited one morning and it was cute! The staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. They spoke with us about Sanford for a bit and what to expect from each exhibit. We learned a lot of the history of Sanford and really appreciated learning the WHOLE truth about it, not sure if you'll get that in any other place in FLORIDA!

A place that answered my past, present, and future questions about life, that drags me around town. THE FORT. DOWNTOWN.

What a great museum! Discovered a lot of stuff I did not know. Huge fan of Weird Florida book, did not know he was from Sanford.

It's free, there's no wait time and you learn the history of Sanford from its very beginning to what it is now. The indigenous people were killed so that the Europeans could take their land and profit from it. At least the museum sticks to the honest truth! The young lady was very knowledgeable about the history of Sanford. I really enjoyed the artifacts throughout the museum. Beautiful! There's even an entire room as it would have liked in 1800s era. Fun!
