Sarasota County Gun Range, Nokomis FL

Big fan of this range. Rustic, fairly priced, and the range officers are very helpful and friendly. Lots of distance and target options too. It’s everything you want in a range. Credit to Sarasota County for doing such a nice job.

Took a bud from out of town and the Range Safety Officers helped him learn and have a great time. Staff were/are top notch friendly and helpful.

Well run public range. Very nice, under shade, safe and family friendly. I brought my 5 yr old there to shoot and they were very patient and accommodating with providing a higher bench for him to kneel on.

(Minors have a separate consent form)

Very easy to sign in and pay fee to shoot for the day. They go through the safety rules and inform you how the range works. Safety officers are friendly and safety conscious (as they should be).

They have targets and cardboard target backing for purchase. There is an area with steel targets. Frangible ammo only for the steel area so if you want to shoot steel go prepared.

Wife and I used the range for the first time last Saturday afternoon. Range Safety Officers we’re good about explaining the rules. We plan to take friends there to shoot in the near future.

This is both a cordial and professionally run facility! We've enjoyed practicing here many years. The staff keeps facility operating timely and in good working order. They are exceptionally consistent with safety measures and sincerely attentive to all questions and needs. I'm certain many guests enjoy how personable staff are. It is very apparent they work as a team and genuinely inspect all firearms visually for chambering at each "cease fire interval". We've also noted them routinely pacing behind the scenes for added safety measures and familiarity with perhaps new visitors safety habits.

First trip to this outdoor range today. Clean safe we'll organized facility. Best in the are as far as I'm concerned. Great short pistol range. Nice 50 and 100 yard ranges. I don't shoot much farther out then 100 anyway. Fun experience will be back.

Love the facility. The gun Rangers are always very helpful, organized, professional, safe and never too "over the top". If you know what I'm saying.

All the inside staff are also very pleasant and very helpful. It's refreshing to see this type of energy and passion from a County/Government run facility. I wish other Sarasota County branches of government would learn from this, it would benefit everyone in the community. Keep up the good work and Thank you! Chad Keech

It is an outdoor range where safety is of the utmost importance. Plenty of Range Officers to keep an eye on everyone.

Although that was my first time, I felt welcomed as if I was a lifetime member. Most ranges I have been to the instructors are like the military. The instructors, at Sarasota very serious about safety but their demeanor was as if a friend was talking to a friend. I loved it so much, I have become a member. I am looking forward to my next visit.

The best outdoor range anywhere near Sarasota to PEW PEW! Great clay skeet range, it’s like a golf course, and the rifle / pistol range is great too.
