Sarasota County Tax Collector, Venice FL

Very efficient and friendly staff at this location. Registered two vehicles and acquired 2 drivers licenses without an appointment - in and out in 1 hour. If you read the website for the DMV and bring with you what it clearly states is needed - the process is simple and straightforward.

Taxes keep going up on my property but they take away services at this location. Sounds fishy to me. Or people don’t want to do what they are being paid for. Even the lady at the front of the DMV was very rude about this. Great job Sarasota County.

I moved to Venice FL from NJ about June 2023.
Both my wife and I needed new drivers licenses and new car plates.
We made an appointment online and brought ample documents (passports, us mail, old licensees, title and insurance cards.etc).
We walked in the building and immediatly sat down with an agent. The woman that processed our requests was a real pro - in fact stellar.
SARA was her name - fast - smart - funney and a real hard worker. The entire process was 30 minutes and bang we were on our way.

Usually you wouldn't think DMV and a pleasant day could happen at the same time. But it did and I was surprised.

I/We had questions about putting a shed on our property. A very nice woman at the front desk helped with many of our questions. For some more specific question that we had she brought us over to Building. We met with Russell Hutchins. Mr. Hutchins was on top of everything and helped us out tremendously. Need to due something for son, he always works overtime and can't get there. Of course I didn't have all the information I needed! She was so nice about it and took her time helping me out by finding the information I needed to take care of what I came there for. 5 star's for excellent customer service!
