Sawa Restaurant & Lounge, Coral Gables FL

Went there for the New Year celebration 2023, came from Montreal. It’s the worst New Year celebration I ever had, you pay $199 per person for 2 appetizers and one tapas plate and a dessert, which in any day you might pay $50 at the max. And the food just okay. The service sucks very slow, the atmosphere felt like you sitting in a funeral, for the first 3 hours very slow, spa music and they hired girls dressed in a cat custom doing the same moves for 3 hours, 99% of the customers did not interact with them and even did not interact with each other because of the atmosphere they created. The place came to life just 10 minutes before midnight when they started playing Arabic music. One star for value, atmosphere, food, service. But our server she tried so hard to please us, I will give her 5 stars and it’s not her fault, it’s the restaurant responsibility. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ANY CELEBRATION!

The worst dining experience I ever had in Miami, poor service, overpriced food, you pay a lot of money for very little portions, but the worst part is the service, don’t waste your time and money!

What an experience this restaurant is. The food is mouth-watering, and every plate will have you craving the next. The service is also impeccable, no complaints there. The atmosphere and ambience is very solid. Any dinner here will be impressive and more than worth your time and money. This restaurant has my highest recommendation.

Went there yesterday, the octopus ceviche was good, but the rack of lamb did not have any condiment, the one thing I really liked was the banana desert.

This was my first time here, and I'll def be back. The service was perfect, our waitress was great! Very helpful, super friendly and made our visit very enjoyable. The menu gives all kinds of choices, from sushi to Greek food, etc. I had the poke bowl, which was very good, very large portions. The drinks were also very good. My new Miami favorite.

Awful service and awful food. I couldn’t even finish. Servers playing at the phone, food arrive separate with still all appetizers plates on the table, no utensils when the second course arrived. Never seen that in my life…

When dining in Coral Gables, the majority of the time you expect to eat at a restaurant that does not disappoint and that lives up to their standards and maybe even go above and beyond. As a former Customer Service Manager dining in at a restaurant I know exactly what to look out for as far as basic customer service. Basic customer service is fine, its gets the job dine and customer leaves happy. Excellent customer service gets more than the job done and the customer leaves happy and wanting to come back. Going above and beyond customer service is by the best anyone in the service Industry can give. It allows the customer to come back and ask for the same server. Visiting Sawa in coral gables I was able to experience above and beyond customer service. Our waiter went above and beyond for us and for that reason I will be back with more people including family. The food was great, couple items were bland as other reviewers had mentioned but our waiter really made up for that and gave us recommendations. He was very attentive and he also how our day was, have we been before, and are we new the area. Doing this allows you to connect with your customer and really see what you give them. Thank you Mahmoud for all you do and we hope you have a bright future ahead of you. Sawa is very lucky to have you and you are an asset to the company. Cant wait to see you next time!

Absolutely fantastic service, food and atmosphere. Would highly recommend for any Friday night dinner or Saturday brunch! The doggie menu is extensive and accommodates for food allergies. Lily (great Dane puppy, almost 2) loves the food and dessert

I ordered the lotus rolls and the luxury rolls. Both have lobster. One is lumb lobster meat and the other is tempura. I also had an order of brussel sprouts. There were a little over cooked in my opinion. I like my brussel sprouts juicy. These were cooked till they were dry. There was sauce to dip the brussel sprouts in. But the rolls were good. I liked both lobster rolls. These were nice. I do recommend

Zero stars! Waited 20 mins at a table outdoors and no one came to take my order. (Was there shortly before 6pm) Other customers who were seated after me were served. Got up and walked over to another restaurant. Never coming back to this place.

I been wanting to go to this place for a while. Decided to go for lunch and they had horrible service, the hostess was very rude. She sat us down like she was doing us a favor and then no server approached us for a wile. Like they have no sense or urgency to take our order or anything. Also the table looked dirty…. So after 15 min waiting we got up and left

I live in Boynton Beach and I eat at this place regularly they’re always super fresh high quality and I couldn’t believe after 14 years it would be any different for anyone else their food is amazing and the place is spotless clean with amazing service.

Wow what a amazing food and amazing service… i definitely recommend this place sushi is out of this world.

Have gone several times now trying to give them a shot. Atmosphere is ok but that's really all they have going for them. All the food we have tried has been bland and not worth the high price tag. The drinks unfortunately follow suite. There are much better options for the price point so we probably won't be back.

Absolutely in love with Sawa. We only came for apps and drinks but was surprised at how tasty and delicious they were. Some of the best seafood apps I’ve had in Miami. I love that you can actually taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients. I will be back later to fully explore the menu. If appetizers are this good then I can’t wait to taste the mains.

Sawa is such a wonderful place to eat. Their menu is top of the line. The service provided is second to none. They have a server named Zach that goes above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful experience. Thank you Sawa and team!
