What an awful experience. Booked 6 months out for my party of 4 to be seated in a car with plexiglass. Dirty plexiglass with smudges. Hair too. If we wanted to be seated at a car without it (which is all but like 2 or 3) then we’d have to wait even longer to be seated. The people in the back, which included me couldn’t even enjoy the environment because of the glare and dirty finger prints. Does anybody clean here? I’ve included pictures for reference. Forget about having even the slightest conversation. How upsetting. Service is very slow. Expect to be here at least an hour and a half.

We dined at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater after spending the day at Hollywood Studios. The food was okay, but unfortunately their menu could use work. Their fried pickles were spicy, however the menu said nothing about it being spicy which was disappointing. One of the members of our party got the bowl of pasta, however when it was brought out, the bowl sat higher than the small light and they were unable to see their food. The atmosphere was the coolest part as it was set up like a drive in movie theater. Their were 5 people in our party and instead of being sat together at one of their tables where we were all able to sit and face each other to eat, we were split up in a car where we had 3 rows with 2 people in each row and one person sitting alone in the back. The movies they play on the large screen were ok. I was glad to experience this once, but I doubt I would return again.

What a fantastic idea! It’s such a good idea — watching a drive in movie from a car while you eat traditional American food — that it could almost get away with mediocre food. But it was great food! The burgers were fantastic. We LOVED that they asked for temperature before we even requested it. Extremely good burgers.

Secret: they have dipping sauces for the fries. Ask for them. There are a variety and they switch them out often. Worth it!

Our server was Aubrianna. Oh my goodness. She was a rock star. She was serving several tables but always seemed to be right there when we needed her. And we like to visit a bit with our server—and she did too! She was wonderful. She even hung out and waved goodbye to us as we left.

AND she gave us extra hot fudge for our sundaes! Woo-hoo!

The whole experience was fantastic. We were so thrilled to get a reservation. I asked my daughter what was the ONE thing from our whole five day Disney experience that stood out to her the most. She thought for a minute and she said that it was the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater! That’s how fun it was. I’ve always wanted to do this Disney experience and it was even better than I had imagined.

Thank you Disney. Good show.

The film clips are on a 40 minute (or so) repetitive cycle and that was just about right. About the time we were seeing a clip the 3rd time, we were getting ready to go. Just loved this experience!

Stay up late and reserve this place for your visit. It might be the highlight of your trip too.

My wife and daughter love the restaurant! Nostalgic drive in from the 1950’s. What a nice job Disney did to bring the magic into dining. By far in my opinion the most fun memorable restaurant in Hollywood Studios - the food is great too! They also offer annual passholder discount as well. We have been passholder’s for 15 years and decided to take a break for a year right as covid hit. So we are happy to be back in parks with our Pirate pass. After trying for the last month we finally got a reservation here. Note you need to book in advance this is such a popular restaurant reservations are booked up quickly on this one.

Don’t eat here unless you’re comfortable being split up from your party. We had reservations 2 months out but were seated in a car with plexiglass between my wife and kid in the back seat and me up front. It’s very common - the car next to us (party of 4) had the same thing. When we asked to be re-seated, they claimed there was nothing they could do about it. It’s a shame because the food was good, and the atmosphere was really cool. But I’d rather have a $12 hot dog if it meant we could actually hear each other being excited.

We loved this dark, cool restaurant. However, we were a party of TWO. I would not want to dine here with a large group (or an odd number), because you are seated in booths (bench car seats) two by two, side by side, making conversation a bit awkward between front seat and back seat. Each "car" has three rows of seats, to accommodate 6 diners.
We pulled up the menu from a QR code that was on our counter-style table, and we placed our order with our "carhop. " There was a plexiglass divider between us and the party in front of us, which made our space feel safer from COVID, as well as very quiet and private. However, it did slightly reduce the amount of table space for our meal and drinks.
The food was good: burgers, shakes, fries and onion rings. Everything was well prepared and very tasty. We were disappointed to learn they were OUT of the cookies & cream milkshakes when we ordered. We got a vanilla instead, and it was good.
The movie screen plays about a 30-minute loop of trailers from 50's Era sci-fi movies, mixed with animated ads for the old drive-in concessions.
We enjoyed it and will be sure to go back.

Great themed restaurant. A throw back to the fifties drive- in theme. You sit inside a model of a classic car and watch trailers from 50s Sci fi movies. The kids loved it. The service and food were very good. It was a very good time!

Decided to dine here while spending our day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Loved the setup and style of the restaurant as well as the staff. We had their Chocolate Milk Shake, Chicken Strips, Feature Film Burger (which was ground pork that day), and the Classic American Burger. Everything tasted delicious. Our waitress was also very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.
I recommend

This place was AMAZING! I have been waiting to go here for 3 yrs and it did not disappoint. The service was friendly and quick. The food was really good. The burgers where big. The milkshakes where so creamy and delicious. You sit in little classic cars that have tables/counters to eat on. While old movie previews and cartoons play on the big screen. The kids loved it. They kept giggling at the old horror movie previews. The seats where comfortable and felt roomy, I didn't feel squished. We would eat here again!

It's cute to take a step back in time, and this place is set up with tongue firmly in cheek, having fun with the 1950s cheese fest that was early science fiction. The service is great, the food is passable, but the price is quite steep for what you get. Still, I'm glad I went.

In my opinion, no place can compete with Sci-Fi Dine-In on Disney property. I make it a mandatory rule to get a reservation here for lunch every time I go to Hollywood Studios. You go here around 2-3pm when you’re tired of walking in the humid Florida weather & need some peace from the crowds. No place on Disney (aside from San Angel Inn) will give you the dark/cold/quiet restaurant experience. If you’re a Virgo/introvert and need some time to decompress, not say a word for an hour, and watch classic short clips inside a convertible car: this place is perfect. The food is not Victoria and Albert’s - but you can’t beat the energy of this place.

We always make a reservation for this restaurant. It is such a fun way to relax and have a meal at Hollywood Studios. We had a wonderful server and our food was excellent especially those milkshakes! Looking forward to our next visit and getting a reservation here.

I went here as part of my 30th birthday trip to Disney last month with my sister (20 September 2021). I went here the last time I went to Hollywood Studios in 2007 (when the park was still known as Disney MGM).

Our waiter Maurice was awesome and provided great service. I tried the feature film burger (which at the time was a pork belly burger, I don’t know if the burgers change every so often or not) along with a shared appetizer of fried pickles. Did not know fried pickles were a thing before eating at SFD, but I will definitely have them again. My sister, a big burger lover, got a traditional burger and loved it.

The kitschy atmosphere was great and I loved the B movie trailers. The only downside to my visit was at least two children of other dining parties (I don’t know how old they were because I didn’t see them) were screaming their heads off and crying for a good part of our meal, so that killed the vibe. Perhaps they can have a policy to make kids take their screaming kids outside in order to be considerate to other diners?

Overall, still a great meal and I plan to go again on my next Disney trip.

Side Note: When using the My Disney Experience app to check into your reservation, make sure to note if you’re there to mark a birthday or other big occasion and they’ll give you free cupcakes placed in a Mickey on the plate!

The manager Christina refused to make accommodations for my infant to be near me during our reservation today 11/13 at 5: 40 pm. She told me I needed to move my stroller to an area where I couldn’t see my sleeping infant. There was an empty car right in front we could have easily been seated. If your are going to work at Disney World you need to be understanding and accommodate moms with infants. Worst customer service I’ve ever received here.

Generally booked all the time, my wife asked a couple times as we passed about an open table, and we got one about 10 minutes before the park closed. If watching trailers for 50s era laughably bad horror films and eating good food is your thing, this is a must.

We enjoyed our 'drive-in' dining experience, and the two littles in our party were delighted to be issued their very own driver licenses! The food and films were good, and our server was wonderful! The only draw back for us was, as a party of 12, we were seated in two separate cars and not able to dine together.

Never had visited this place before and was surprised how big it was inside. This spot is located near Star Wars Land in Hollywood studios and is quite an interesting place. It is set up like an old style drive in movie theater and you actually eat inside a car while old style sci fi movies play on a big screen. The menu is pretty much burgers and fries with maybe one pasta and one salad choice, that’s it. Don’t go here if your looking for a gourmet meal, because its all 50s style hamburgers and fries. The burgers and fries however are made to order and delicious. Prices are what you would expect and they do serve alcohol. Staff is great in true Disney style and they are friendly and helpful. Great place to check out!

Booked this table service restaurant based on the experience…a drive-in theater. Was sat at one of 6 “picnic tables” for two … we are a party of 3. Requested a car and was told it was first come first serve but we had reservations) and there were at least 10 clean car/ tables. If you don’t want to chance paying $25 for a $6 burger to sit on a picnic bench for two behind tons of empty cars don’t go.

My family's favorite place to eat at Hollywood Studios. It's more than just a retro gimmick, the food and service are top notch.
