My brother just got there last Friday. It seems very nice so much cleaner than the last one he was in. Everyone has been very friendly.

The patient I was visiting with was still in his pajamas at 3 PM and his diaper needed to be changed. He had a terrible diaper rash.

Reception is very friendly. CNA understands what my mother (the resident) needs and wants, and does those things that keep her happy. Communication between nurses and nursing shifts is still problematic. Floors are not kept clean especially on weekends.

My Mother was taken extremely late in to Sea Breeze, was supposed to be there hours earlier, but the Nurse and Tech were right on top to things! Thank you to you both. Nice and clean environment, walls in rooms with beautiful Murals so relaxing feeling. Thank you Sea Breeze for your wonderful admission at such a late arrival time! And making my Mother feel so comfortable! And thank you Jennifer in Admissions for a quick and comfortable admission!

My mother required rehab after a hip fracture and was transferred over the weekend. From the outside, the facility looked decent. The majority of the rooms are semi-private. 2 rooms of 4 patients share 1 toilet. The stench of the bathroom was overwhelming. There were no grab bars in the bathroom. The rooms looked old. The bed sheets and towels were very worn, ripped, and stained. My mother's bed did not have side rails. This is important in order for her to be able to turn and reposition. The staff was informed of this concern and their reply was: this will need to wait until regular business hours when maintenance personnel is available. I advocated for her and had the beds switched. My mother had to wait for long periods of time after pressing the call bell for assistance. She even limited her food and drink consumption due to fear of having to call to use the bathroom because she knew there would be a long waiting period before help arrived. That was disheartening to hear. The food served there is mostly processed or canned and was unappealing. My mother informed me that she had called for assistance because a pillow fell onto the floor. She was told by a staff member that they couldn’t get it for her. She ended up having to find a way to get it herself. I provided my mother with baths because she looked disheveled when I visited. I had asked the staff if they had non-skid socks. They pulled it out of a plastic bag that was used and had the previous owner’s name on it. How terrible. My mother is not at all frail or elderly. Prior to this situation, she was independent and was still working. During her time at this rehab, she became depressed due to the situation and environment. She was offered anti-depressants for which she had declined. If I was in this situation, I would’ve been depressed too! The staff seemed poorly knowledgeable and lazy. Some were even rude. When I made it a point to switch the beds, some of the staff members were muttering words under their breath such as “this is not an emergency” or “this is not that important. ” Well, excuse me but this is my mom and she needs the right equipment for her to do basic activities. I’m sure if this is their loved one, they would want the same. The patients’ bathroom was not air conditioned and was hot and humid and smells disgusting. The visitor restrooms had no AC either. Entering and leaving the facility is a challenge. Most of the time, there is no staff member at the front to unlock the door. My mother also had requested to switch rooms since she had the bed by the door and the AC unit was on the wall of the opposite side, under the window. The environment was very uncomfortable. Staff gave her a difficult time. Once she was able to be switched to another room, she was able to get the bed by the AC unit but the unit, phone, and TV, wasn’t functioning. She reported that and eventually got it taken care of. I witnessed staff members that were very unprofessional while caring for other patients. Some are rude to the patients by the comments and remarks they make to them. Rooms aren’t cleaned in a timely manner. The bathroom is not sanitary. After giving my mom a bath, the used linen was lying on the floor. I had told the staff about it and offered to dispose of it in a linen cart if available. Over 1 hour passed by before someone came to pick it up. I watched an aide hover over a patient while changing the brief and stopped to answer and talk on her personal phone. The patient lied there, half naked and uncovered, waiting to be changed while the aide had a full-on discussion on the phone. My mother and I finally got her discharged sooner than we would like but it’s all for the better because no one deserves to live in this condition. How can anyone recover and heal while living in this condition? I hope no one else has a poor experience such as this.

I came to this place for an Interview after rescheduling two Others and when I got here, I was told that they are not doing interviews and that the message was computer generated. After driving 30 minutes and it’s 102° out here wasting gas I can truly say if these people are that inconsiderate I surely don’t want to be apart of the Team they also had others coming in to. Very Unprofessional and Inhumane.

I live out of state and am fortunate enough to visit my Mom frequently. When I am not here, I am able to speak with staff and get updates on my Mom, that are helpful. My mom is very happy here, the attention that staff provide her is excellent. I visit twice a day. Starting at reception- Teresa is a blessing, always cheerful and interactive and in the evening, Vivian is too. The both always offer kind words and encouragement. Too many CNA's to thank! They all know my name and treat my Mom with respect and kindness- special shout out to Evalyn and Alourde- God bless you for the hard work that you do day in and day out. All CNA's are differece makers in the lives of others. Special nursing shout out to Cassandra and Michelle- my Mom thinks you both are angels. I agree. The care provided by this team warms my heart and allows my Mom to live with dignity and comfort and she tells me daiy how grateful she is for the staff. Mom and I pray daily that God will continue to bless and strengthen each staff member. Sorry if I didn't mention you by name, but I LOVE YOU ALL!

I live out of state. Came into town to visit my father who is a resident for the past year and a half. I am a hospice social worker in GA (17 yrs). Have met a lot of Heath care providers. I met Rena/RN. She was friendly, personable AND KNOWLEDGEABLE about my father. I
Asked questions and made comments…not once did she make me feel like I was a bother. 5 stars for an awesome nurse. I know from my experience that they don’t hear it enough, so really hope someone tells her she’s doing a great job. She cares about there’s the residents…and my dad. MOST important thing for families…not what you know…that you care.

My brother was a patient recently for 30 days. He was very sick and very weak when he arrived. Thanks to the dedication, professionalism and efforts of the doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and all of the other caregivers there, he has recovered and is coming home in a few days! They treated my brother with compassion and TLC everyday. All of the staff from the front check in desk and throughout, also acknowledged me with a smile and a hello every time I came there, and treated me like family. The halls and rooms were always clean and smelled nice. They kept me informed of his progress along the way, and what they were doing to help him heal. I am forever grateful for what they do everyday to care for our loved ones in their time of need!

My mom is currently at Sea Breeze. It takes a certain kind of person to go into the field of caregiving. It’s tough. No one likes being in a nursing home. The staff faces resistance and sometimes downright opposition from patients, some who have lost their wits and recognize nothing, and are just terrified and alone. Some are actually alone in this world, some who just feel like they are. Oh and they need their diaper changed too. The indignity that comes with not being able to use the toilet alone is one that I wish for no one.

I acknowledge the ginormous pain I am when I am there. My mothers comfort and happiness mean so much to me and she cannot speak up for herself so I do it for her with a happy heart. I try to help and do little things like empty a full trash or let the nurses know the man in Room 221 cried for help as I passed by his room or put some lunch orders in for my moms smoking buddies because, by the grace of God, I can stand up and my two legs will carry me pretty much wherever I want to go. I thanked him already today, many times and again now, thank you God.

My mom apologizes often these days. When I’m changing her socks, or combing her hair or wiping her bottom. I tell her, don't you say sorry. No, no, no! Instead, try saying thank you. Gratitude is the attitude, Mammie! I tell her that in saying thank you, she can feel less helpless and I feel appreciated and that makes me truly happy to help.

To all the staff at Sea Breeze, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. One thousand times, thank you. You guys are the real superstars. If I were in charge of the world, you’d all make the money that professionals athletes do. Teachers and bus drivers too. In addition to my eternal gratitude, I, aka Guess who’s back (that’s what I sing quietly each time I approach the nurses station or pass by a familiar face in the hall), also humbly offer my almost kinda famous, “30 seconds” shoulder rub. It’s not a lot of time but it does makes a difference in one’s day.

Again, to each and every member of the staff, thank you. Thank you. Again and again and again. And again.

2 stars because the rehab saved it. Most of the staff could care less. I was here for 19 days for rehabilitation with walking. Nurses skipped medications, ignored calls for help. Patients without visitors get ignored.find somewhere else.

This place shouldn’t even get ONE star! I was dumped in there weds@ 4pm from knee surgery on Monday. NO ONE assisted me AT All! Didn’t process me coming in. No walker no assist AT ALL all night long! No ice water, no pain meds… nothing! The aides who came in our room helped my roommate but didn’t even acknowledge me! PT did come weds and again Thursday but THEY weren’t the problem.the AM aide came in and h go t upset with me tat I hadn’t thrown my trash away! We reported everything to administration and head of nursing. My family gr me out by4 the next day! Don’t put ANYONE you care for in this dump! The room was also filthy! It was an absolute nightmare! Drop the Mike!
