Sea Dwellers Dive Center of Key Largo reviews
32Excellent experience. Took my girls out for their first open water snorkeling trip. They completely enjoyed the fish and corals
Very friendly and professional crew and instructors. I highly recommend them. Everything was very well organized and made the trip very fun.
My daughter and I recently completed a 2 tank trip with Sea Dwellers, what a great trip it was. Very professional, great brief, great guide, great conditions. I saw Molasses Reef in a completely different way than I’m used to after several years of diving that reef. My hats off to Brian and the crew of Sea Dwellers. Looking forward to my next Fl trip and a chance to dive with this team again.
Had an Awesome experience with Sea Dwellers! Great crew, great instructors. Well run Dive Shop!
Sea Dwellers is a super professional outfit, their staff is warm, welcoming and highly competent. You would be hard-pressed to find a better dive outfit in The Keys. Rob is a top-notch instructor and guide, and one of the friendliest Bostonian’s you’ll ever meet. Don’t go anywhere else!
They really catered to me and made me feel comfortable for my first ocean dive. I highly recommend!
This place is very inadequate for proper scuba student training - especially for beginners. I was not comfortable during my first dive at sea. I wasn't properly trained and super nervous which our trainers don't take into consideration. Safety wasn't a priority.
Worst of all, our driver failed to exercise caution concern for the safety of marine life. Our boat drove directly over the top of a sea turtle - which luckily dived at the last second before getting struck by the bow of the boat. This incident made me more nervous and worried for turtles - my favorite sea creature. Turtles are at great risk when swimming.at sea because they have to surface to breathe.
Driving the boat at slower speeds allows turtles to see us.coming and quickly dive down to avoid boat strikes. I won't give this place my business again. They just don't even meet minimal standards for safety or respecting the wild creatures. We are invading their home and should show them respect and kindness.
Had a GREAT experience diving with the friendly and safe Sea Dwellers staff. Brian and I dived on Molasses Reef.healthy and vibrant reef. Thanks Brian for a great memory!
Good experience with good people. Played phone tag with the gentleman at the desk for a few hrs on my way there but he sent me a personal text and ended up being an extremely professional and accommodating guy. I go to SSI establishments I find on the SSI app so I can verify my dives electronically in my travels, as I am working toward being a search and recovery diver in Texas. The crew I went out with was cooler than the other side of the pillow and get eager divers in the water as fast as they are ready after instruction. To be honest Im used to diving lakes and fresh water springs back home so my "throw the bc and tank over my back" routine wasn't working in the boat on the choppy water, lol. Pretty sure some of the crew got a laugh at watching me put on my bc while getting tossed around from the swell. Anyway, everybody was accommodating and they are reasonable compared to a few other shops I dove with on the way down here. I would definitely recommend these guys if you are diving in the Key largo area.
Very friendly, safe and accommodating staff. Thank you Sea Dwellers for our dives, and completing our Open Water classes!
We emailed the dive center a month prior or trip asking for a quotation to do spiegle groove wreck, their answer was "sure no problem, just give us your credit card number to book", called them, gave my credit card number, and again, no problem for the wreck. Just before our departure to Florida I asked for a confirmation email, they said it might be complicated to to spiegle but bendwood was a good alternative and safe for snorkelers. Okay, good compromise, we cannot ask them to refuse snorkelers for us.
The day of the dive, we did 2 times a 7m reef (no kidding, the boat moved 3m away from the first spot). Don't get me wrong, the reef was beautiful and full of life, but we were expecting something else.
We had paid extra for a dive guide bc we thought it would be safer to explore wrecks with a dive guide, but on the very shallow dive it seems a bit overkill. Especially since the strategy of the dive guide seems to be going in cercles around the boat until we ran out of air. So 900psi and 45min later we had to surface, a bit frustrated
The staff is nice and has your safety in mind but we would have appreciated a bit more transparency or even a "sorry the wreck is not available today", but they didn't say a word about it
Great wreck dive today at the Speigel:
USMC and US flag flying above wheelhouse. Safety measures of crew
made it possible even in current, they
took good care of us. Fun!
3 of us got certified this week and had a great experience. Our instructor Jeremy was great and Scott, Natalie and Shorey on the boat were excellent. We'll definitely dive here again.
My dad and I loved our dives with Sea Dwellers. The whole crew was really respectful and helpful. I felt really confident with their experience, and we would love to come back. The dive sites were gorgeous.
Me and my boyfriend had the best experience with sea dwellers, we had Jeremy as instructor and he is the best. Very professional, fun and very patient. It was our first experience diving and we felt always very secure.
They took us to an amazing reef where we saw a nurse shark, lobsters, a little eel and ton of different fishes. We liked it so much that now we are considering doing the PADI certification with them. Thank you!
Sea Dwellers was excellent. They ran their operation like a fine tuned machine. Everything went as planned from beginning to the end. Thanks for the fun dives.
As good or bad as all the other dive tour shops in Key Largo (seems they are all quite good). Better: The DM explained the reef (and how to swim it in the present current) better than I've seen before. Downside: They have a junior dive instructor who is so cool that it hurts to look into his mirrored sunglasses face. Profoundly annoying attitude, not helpful with his super-cool comments (which were in essence justified, but hey, who wants to listen to the patter of a strutting tom?).
Very friendly staff accomodating all skill levels. Captain Scott's fantastic knowledge of the Key Largo dive sites took us exactly where we wanted to be. What a perfect getaway.
A very high level of customer service, the entire crew is top notch. Instructors were patient and encouraging. We're so glad we chose Seadwellers to attain our Open Water Certification. Thanks!
My fiance and I just came back from doing our checkout dives with Sea Dwellers and couldn't be happier with the way things went. The crew was friendly and very patient with all of the beginner divers including ourselves. Shorey, our instructor, was great! She kept us informed of what was going on the entire time and made us feel very comfortable with the upcoming dives. We will definitely be back to do future dives with them.
