Seagrass Village of Fleming Island

Do NOT use Seagrass Memory Care. My loved one was placed into Seagrass 2 months ago, with the promise of a higher quality of care than what we could've given them ourselves.today we attended their funeral.
My loved one was only placed into Seagrass due to an event where they managed to get out of the house alone, NO other health issues, NO special treatment type needed! After 2 weeks of being here, my loved one was involved in an altercation while staff was no where to be found. This altercation left both my loved one and another resident injured, during which my love one sustained a head injury. This head injury lead to a brain bleed (which wasn't found until my loved one symptoms were so severe they were admitted into the hospital, symptoms which we were never informed of prior), and ultimately resulted in my loved ones death. The rapid decline of my loved one almost immediately after being placed into Seagrass's care is frightening. Seagrass never once informed us of any concerning behaviors my loved one exhibited, instead they called to complain about my loved one being "difficult". I can't agree more with the review that names this place as an apartment complex with these supposed "caretakers" being landlords. I truly believe had my love one been placed into a different facility they would've lived AT LEAST to the New Year.

I am beyond impressed with Seagrass. The staff there was so incredibly helpful during a time of transition for my mother. They have made our entire family feel as though we are now part of their family. Linda was extremely helpful in helping my mom get a room that suited her needs. Every person who works there from the chef (who makes incredible meals!), to the Activity Director Kristi who asked my mom what groups/activities she is interested in to the maintenance team we are truly so thankful!

Assisted living at Sea Grass fulfills their personal care standards in providing independence to their residents with care and quality within the guidelines. The medical team fulfills their caretaking to assist with the activities of daily living.

Very clean, extraordinary service, homely atmosphere. Excellent service at the bar and toured with a very knowledgeable and professional saleswoman Linda. Cannot say enough about her level of caring and hospitality.

This has been a great place for my family. The facility and staff are amazing! I feel safe and secure knowing my grandma is in good hands and under wonderful care. I would recommend anybody that’s looking for assisted/independent living to check out!

Wonderful place for your loved one to age in place, with an amazing staff that cares for every resident as if they were their family. They also have a wonderful therapy team!

I am a personal caregiver that comes into seagrass village. This is an outstanding community and I love coming here. All clinical staff are very perfessional and caring. Would highly recommend it!

I walked in for a tour and was shown your beautiful facility by Kennedy Singleton. While we are several years away from using a facility like this I loved everything that was shown to me and the fact that Ms. Singleton did not pressure me to fill out any forms.

My sweetheart is awesome, she takes the best of care of me, she's there everytime I need her ' she checks on me throughout the day, Her name is Taylor. I'm lucky to have her.

Overall my stay here at Seagrass has been very welcoming and the staff has been nice and helpful with our care and we love it here

The only reason I left a one star review is because zero was not available. Do NOT use the memory care services at this facility. They get you in with a comprable market rate and promise of all kinds of great services. Once in the facility, the rate starts climbing and additional costs are added for more specific care (i.e. Helping and reminding the resident to put on their eye glasses). The services provided are minimal and there are very few recreational activies available (the TV in the common area was broken and it took serveral weeks to get a replacement). I was always having to remind the staff to do my loved one's laundry and to make sure she was bathed on her designated shower days. The housekeeping is terrible - our family members were the ones doing the cleaning of the room and the changing of the bed linens most of the time. The residents are not given much attention by some of the staff members to the point that medical issues are sometimes over looked and/or not reported to a family member. While understanding that dementia patients don't get better and their health does decline, the rate of decline in my loved one was at an alarming rate and I was afraid to have her stay there any longer! She is now at a different facility. Please do detailed research and talk to families of other residents before placing your loved one in any memory care setting.

I have worked at seagrass for 6 months now! It’s a very friendly and positive experience! Building a connection with the residents and their family members has been an amazing feeling! The management here is beyond phenomenal

Great place to work been here 2yrs 7months and have climbed the ladder since then. My manger acknowledged me and all my hard work and the effort I take to make sure all the residents are taken care of. I have gain the trust of family members and third party providers to be they eyes and ears and keep them informed of any changing in care. I would recommend this community as a great workplace for anyone who’s looking to work in healthcare

I just moved my Sister into the Memory Care Center at Seagrass Village on Fleming Island — and I can’t express how thankful I am that she is finally in a safe, learning and loving environment. If you have ever visited a typical memory care facility, you will immediately appreciate why Seagrass is one of the best in the business. I was so impressed by the calm, pleasant environment, the level/quality of memory care staffing, the 24-hour access, and the overall quality and competence of the Seagrass management team (Robin and Micki) and Memory Care staff (Kennedy). Moving a loved one with dementia out of the home environment and into a memory care facility is not just a major decision, it is a painful and extremely stressful decision — that is followed by an mountain of paperwork, medical issues and problems to be solved. That’s where Robin came to our rescue. From my first phone call with her, I was so impressed with her patience, her knowledge, her can-do attitude, and her true concern for my sister. Robin worked with me every step of the way and, as a team, we arranged for a wonderful new home at Seagrass — in a few short weeks. As a leader at Seagrass, Robin is innovating in a number of ways in the memory care program — and I am just so glad that we are reaping the benefits of this love and concern for our family member with dementia.

When a family has to make a decision about putting a loved one into memory care — it’s not just about buildings, amenities, cost, physical environment, food — it’s ALL about the people who serve your loved ones! From Robin (and Micki) in leadership and management — to Kennedy in Memory Care — the very competent and caring staff were the primary reason I chose Seagrass Village. It’s the best I’ve seen in Memory Care in the Northern Florida area — and my family could not be more confident in my sister’s future care and well being there!
