I am so disgusted by this eye doctor. After making 2 appointments, I am not pushed back again and arrive 15 minutes early appointments with this doctor, I am not pushed off again. I arrive 15 minutes early anticipating paperwork. I had been to this doctor approx 5 years prior. After filling out paperwork and the office staff scanning my insurance cars and dl I returned it to staff. Then I was told my portion of today's visit was 20.00. I replied I have no deductible or copay with my special needs insurance. Staff replied this was for a refractory fee that insurance does not cover. I expressed on phone my insurance and asked if there was any deductible because there was not suppose to be. This is nothing short of extortion and I immediately reported them to insurance company on ride back to lake placid, 28 miles each way. Bad doctor, bad place.

As a customer for over 7 years I've had great experiences here and s&j. But this year has all those good years erased. The lady who answers phones must work from home due to how clueless she is. I placed my order for contacts may 25th. They gave me 2 one week trial contacts to get me by until mine came in. It's July 26th and im still waiting. I call multiple times throughout the last 2 months and the front desk lady always says they'll call and text when you order is ready. Since they haven't had them I wore those contacts 5 weeks past the expiration to the point they had a white fog to them. I tossed them out July 20th. Frustrated I called Friday July 21st and the lady who I spoke with several times over the last 2 months finally gets my info and proceeds to tell me they were never ordered. Now I'm super mad. I'm blind with no way to see still attending work and driving. I've called every day this week and the receptionist has no clue what's up with my prescription. I tried to order my contacts elsewhere but According to my vsp vision insurance sevigny and johnson already used my yearly funds for my contacts. 61 days I've been waiting do to their incompetence as a buisness. Will be taking my buisness elsewhere next year. Mr johnson has always gone above and beyond but when I actually need my stuff I'm left to be blind.

This business just lost 2 customers. You may have good doctors but your front desk staff MATTERS. Being a small town, I felt confident referring my husband here knowing he would receive adequate attention. I called the office over a week ago to order my husbands contacts. The young lady I spoke with stated she would look up his information and assured me “someone WILL call you back” which I felt was rather odd that she felt the need to tell me that. No call back. My husband calls a few days later, was placed on hold for 20 min, finally was able to speak to someone. He stated he wanted to order a box of new contacts and asked if he could receive a trial pair until his order arrived. The woman he spoke with told him that was “illegal” and refused to do that. My husband asked to speak to a supervisor, long story short, asked for his prescription so he could order from a different business, he was met with contention but eventually received the requested information. I call today because I had a question about the prescription, I was immediately placed on hold and hung up after 20 min. I called back, they tried placing me on hold again, I stated I was just on hold for 20 min and then she was able to assist me. I spoke to 3 different women and FINALLY got my question answered. I think everyone is tired of hearing the “we’re short staffed” excuse. Being short staffed is no reason for POOR customer service. Being put on hold indefinitely is not acceptable. Not calling customers back is not acceptable. Not taking care of your customers is not acceptable. There are plenty of other businesses we can spend our hard earned money with. I’m sure the employees that work here don’t like spending THEIR money at a business to receive bad customer service, why do YOU treat others that way?

We love Dr. Johnson! He always has interesting travel pictures (scrolling on his computer screen) & interesting info to discuss.he is thorough & we appreciate it! I've been his patient for MANY years when he joined forces with Dr. Sevigny. Another plus: his staff is friendly & efficient as well. It's easy to get an appointment, too! He is now my children's eye doctor as well!
