Jack and Yalda are exceptional. We have been working with them for quite a while now and they ALWAYS provide the best customer service along with the best product. We have conducted business with them many times and each experience is better than the last. We definitely recommend their services to anyone looking for any engine. Thanks to Jack and his company Sharper Edge Engines, they delivered on my 2015 750i BMW engine after my car was shipped to Houston TX. I 100% recommend Jack and his company for any business in regards to foreign car engines.

I rarely if ever write a review but I am today. I contacted Sharper Edge about an engine for Hyundai Accent. I got a text to call from Jack. I called and the gentleman I spoke with was far from pleasant. I totally get most car guys are gruff. My own hubby is gruff. But when I told him I wanted a new engine and not a used engine due to my year Hyundai was the start of the bad engines in them and Didn't want another headache, he just VERY SHORT, gave me a number for someone else to call and literally hung up on me. I get it, but man, if he had not hung up on me, I would have asked more about his engines. After seeing all these reviews about bad engines, guess the powers that be saved me from that mess with a hang up.

I called them for quote on used engine. I found them completely unprofessional. They don't know how to treat potential customers. They have pathetic customer service. If this is the situation before purchase, I don't know how they would treat you after purchase. Not recommended.

I understand the company is having some difficult times with suppliers but they are trying their best. I got my engine kind of late for the same reason and always in communication with Yalda. I have to say that she was always honest with me and try her best to keep the order moving. Some times things are out of out our control and there is nothing that can be done. My engine was installed and so far so good, they are still honoring the warranty and hope everything works out for them and for me. Thank you Yalda for all your help.

They are a shell company an assemblage of many subs and when something goes wrong Jack will not honor the warranty no matter how much documentation or paper work they sell. They sell engines but there is no recourse if there is a problem. With the car. Jack is only a voice on a phone with no skin in the game and will hang up the phone ………. Read below how many people have had the phone hung up on them with defective motors sold to them. They will find every excuse to dodge the warranty because there is no warranty I forgot to mention it took 6 months to get a defective engine

I'm kind of shocked about the reviews on here. I purchased a Range Rover engine from these guys. I will say that Jack is a little gruff, but he's a no-nonsense kind of guy. He was very upfront about pricing. Was very honest and to the point, which I appreciated seeing as how my car was out of commission. Out of everyone that I called, he definitely gave me the best price. Yalda, who I believe works in customer service is a gem and was able to get me the quote within minutes. I have had zero issues with the engine I've purchased from these guys and it's been nearly nine months. My repair guy was impressed with the quality and that certainly made me feel confident about my purchase. When you spend a chunk of change on a Range Rover engine, you need to know that it's going to work. We decided to go with a refurbished engine and I really could not be happier with my decision.

We purchased and engine from this company, at first Jack sounded rough but then he was passionate and extremely knowledgeable about our engine.
We needed a Hyundai Santa Fe engine for a long time but no one could give us the information we need the way Jack did!
It’s a small company and seems like Jack isn’t happy with his former employees!
But he took care of us me we are more than satisfied.
The engine arrived a lot sooner than we expected and we were promised and it looked actually new than used!
Thank you so much Jack and Yalda for everything and making life easier and smoother.

Do not buy from this company, I am a Service Manager at a Land Rover Dealership, this engine was professionally installed by one of our level 4 technicians, it ran for 1 day and had to be towed back to our shop, we removed the oil pan and it was full of metal, was told by Jack they have another company that builds their engines and has had several that was bad, was lied to for months about getting another engine, hired a attorney and got no where, we are out for the engine we had to buy for the customer, plus the labor, Jack and Yalanda are scams, STAY AWAY

UPDATE 04 JANUARY 2022 Still happy with the motor I purchased from this company. Absolutely no problems whatsoever since motor was installed into the Lumina. Based on my experience with Sharper Edge Motors, even though some people according to the reviews have had problems, I would not hesitate to buy another motor from this company.

Brought my engine Oct 1 2019. So far I'm happy. Scott was my sales person. Said my engine would have 107000 miles on it. Will be delivered next week. Hope Scott told the truth about the mileage. I do wish the reviews were better. Few of the comments, good or bad, were from customers who had given 10 or more reviews about any company. You will know the truth, once this engine swap is made. I love giving reviews. This engine and installation will be part of a news story about the salvage engine industry as a whole. Stay tuned for the rest of the story. 08 October 19 1030 hrs. Tuesday.
Received the engine. I was not expecting a complete, ready to install engine, but that's what I received. So far everything is going great.

Motor still not installed. Mechanic that was going to put it in seems to be busy.

01 January 2020.
Motor still sitting on the ground. Everybody's on welfare. They want my money, they just don't want to work for it. The good news about the motor is that there is no bad news

Finally, after sitting on a pallet since October 2019, ; motor is in the process of being put in the car.so far so good just hoping she fires up and operates good. So far so good.

Dropped the car off 0800 16 May 2020
Mechanic worked till 12 noon. Started back at 0700 this morning. 1000 hrs this date picked the car up. Original cost of job was $600. Had a few parts added to job. Gave the guy $800. Car sounds fantastic. At this point in time, my purchase with Sharper Edge Motors has been %100 happiness.

07 June 2020
567 miles later, engine has turned out to be a perfect engine. No leaks, no oil consumption, no nothing as far as problems are concerned. Everything went like clockwork, still cannot believe it all worked out this while. At this point in time, I'm going to close the story this car and its engine replacement. What happens from here on out, cannot be the responsibility of Sharper Edge Engines or their supplier. I got 100% of what I was paying for. Hope everybody who deals with Sharper Edge Engines, has the luck as I did.

Over 2000 miles put on motor since installed. 100% perfection. No problems at all. Just wish I knew how many miles the motor really had (Proof) on it when purchased.

Motor still running perfectly. No problems to report on this fine 3.1 Chevrolet replacement motor.

In a few days, my motor will be in car for 1 year. No problems what so ever. A perfect motor. Hope everyone has the great experience I have had dealing with Sharper Edge Motors.

UPDATE
Motor I brought through Sharper Edge Motors is still performing better than I ever dreamed this motor would ever do.uses no oil, will have to replace 3 ignition coils in the future, cant blame the motor. I am still 200% Satisfied with my relationship with this company.

Motor still running great. Never would have dreamed this motor and purchase would have worked out like this when purchasing from Sharper Edge Motor. The 1999 Chevrolet Lumina except for motor swap has been a great car also

After having had the opportunity to experience my 2015 Land Rover engine purchase from Sharper Edge Engines, I must say, my engine is top notch! Dealing with Yalda and Jack made the experience all the more better. Prompt, curious and highly knowledgeable. The business ethic and customer service provided from this team of professionals really knocked my socks off! In todays society, they truly are a diamond in the rough.

I bought a new engine from them 16 months ago as well as a 3 year warranty. Timing chain broke last week. They will not honor the warranty. They say it is up to the remanufacturer to fix or replace it. He of course says it is up to Sharper Edge since they sold me the engine. Thank you for your response. At the time I purchased the engine you did not provide this warranty explanation or any other maintenance information or requirements. I maintained the motor within the parameters set by Kia. Kia is providing a statement that shows the timing chain broke due to a flaw in the chain and completely destroyed the motor. The report will also state that the long block was new but whoever built the engine used inferior components to do it. The report will also show that nothing I did or did not do caused the chain to break. God bless you have a nice day.
