Sheridan Lumber Company has that family atmosphere that resonates.
They have a wide selection of products beyond Lumber.
I also just found out they're having their 50th year anniversary in July.
That is pretty amazing. Congratulations to them!

Dan Pariseau dashed off 2 quotes for a door I want made. I was mostly happy with the 2nd quote and left a couple of messages for Dan to call me back so I could finalize and pay. He never did. It has been difficult to get Dan to respond while trying to get this door designed. I will not be buying my door from Sheridan Lumber.
Great selection and knowledgeable. Buyer beware - you should competitively shop what you want online. Between wayfair, overstock and build.com you can find exact same stuff for less, with free delivery and no hassle/no restocking fees.
CUSTOMER SERVICE IS REALLY BAD!
The lady at from desk is only there to ask you to leave your name and phone number but no buddy never call you back.
I place an order several weeks and I can't get an ETA of delivery.
I asked to be transferred to a manager and the from desk ignored my petition. Really sad to see a company like Sheridan Lumber falling apart for the lack of customer service. Seems like nobody carea anymore.
If I could do 200 stars I would. Great business doing it right and keeping there customers happy. Great work environment.

I’m not the “write a review” type of person, there’s maybe only a handful of times I’ve actually taken the time to do it. But I figured this experience was worth it. My fiancé and I placed an order for some interior doors through Sheridan Lumber, unfortunately what we initially ordered and paid for wasn’t available, so the sales person made the decision to do a change order without notifying us. The changes were somewhat subtle, so I can see why he thought it was maybe ok to do this, but the changes required additional work to be done (like priming & painting) which would have costed us additional out of pocket expense. Also there was a door that wasn’t prepped with the cut outs required to install hardware. I called Sheridan to express my concerns and requested to speak with a manager, I ended up on the phone with Frank, one of the owners. This is where our experience took a turn for EXCELLENT. Frank was extremely understanding and helpful. He immediately sent a truck to pick up the doors that needed additional attention, he offered to exchange all the doors for what we first selected (but again the changes were so subtle we didn’t see the need for this). We needed an additional 4 doors that we hadn’t yet purchased, we were so happy with the service we received from Frank that we purchased the additional 4 doors on the spot with some additional hardware that we also needed. He gave us a great price and overall the way he handled the entire situation couldn’t have been better. We will definitely continue to do business with Sheridan for any lumber needs.
Side note: I read a couple other reviews where people weren’t as pleased. As the saying goes, “you can catch more bees with honey”. Sometimes we as consumers immediately get angry and feel entitled when a mistake takes place and then we start bitc*ing and complaining and throwing hissy fits. That type of attitude or energy would discourage anyone from wanting to resolve an issue. So next time something doesn’t go your way, try being polite, professional and respectful. I promise the results will almost always be better than not.
Hands down the best most well-stocked lumber/hardware yard I’ve ever been to. Pop and Devin in the loading bay were extremely helpful in helping me find the exact match for a custom project. This place has everything, any trim, specialty profiles, all sorts of hardware.
Was assisted by Reuben. My contractor sent me here to purchase door handles. I know nothing about what I needed. Reuben kindly explained the various types of door handles and assisted with our selection. I am a happy customer.
Called to ask about lumber and the rep on the phone said he was too busy to look up my question. To me that's not good service.
Shop is clean and nicely laid out.
HOWEVER
Be aware that they will charge you a 15% "restocking fee" when you return an item.
Doesn't matter if the item wasn't used. You would think that there would be a sign posted somewhere around the checkout area. Nope. Maybe on the front of the receipt? Nope. Its actually in the fine print on the back of the receipt.
Just go to Home Depot.
