Shibui Japanese Restaurant, Miami FL

This place is just simply amazing! Their food is fresh and you just can't stop eating sushi. We also sat upstairs where you can sit on the ground (on pillows) and enjoy your meal. I would recommend this place to anyone

Arrived at 10: 20 before 10: 30 closing and turned us away, and on a Saturday night! After 20 ys + of coming here, I will never return!

I recommend highly the following items:

- seaweed salad
- crispy tofu
- phoenix roll
- top roll
- garlic mussels

Went on a Thursday for a friend date night and had an excellent time. The food and service was wonderful and the ambiance is great. Will definitely be back.

The best sushi in Miami. Never shows up on anyone’s top list but those that know, know. It’s next to a gas station and been around 35+ years, should tell you everything you need to know.

Ive been coming to Shibui for 20+ yrs it has changed so much, being a loyal customer who knows although they know me and appreciate me a reservations is always needed ️

The quality of their fish is hit or miss, very inconsistent. This last sunday, I was served old, stale, raw fish that immediately turned my stomach. I asked for the check and left with an upset stomach. Never again will I do business with them. This place is a hazard to our health.

A case of over promising and under delivering. I was told they didn’t take reservations when they do in fact and could not be seated in a quieter area that was reserved for four customers which was a lie as moments later it was given to two separate parties of two (also without reservations). The establishment felt like a playhouse filled with kids more than a restaurant (loud). Seating was tight and food was overly sweetened. I left feeling like I just ate at Panda Express after school closed. Our waitress was on point though. She found out where the uni was from based on our inquiry and it was highly appreciated even though we passed on it. Meanwhile her coworker insinuated “sometimes South America, sometimes North America” (just say I dont know). Perhaps worth a lunch if you’re in the neighborhood but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here unless its an occasion for kids.

Had a really great experience with my husband the other night. Everything is very clean. The food was phenomenal. We ordered the Phoenix rolls, and we were astonished of how delicious it was. The staff was so wonderful very friendly especially the host I believe her name was Cali she was very helpful and informative about the wait time. I wish I could give 10 stars. Everything was great I will definitely come again. We did make a reservation because when we called to ask about wait time they strongly recommended that we make a reservation.

Great restaurant with amazing staff! We have been coming to Shibui as a family for over 20 years! Our favorite employee has been Cali, she has been our server and always goes above and beyond! We always go back for her, and always get amazing service and experience no matter who they are! A wonderful restaurant for sushi and other Japanese food!

Food is always delicious and the staff is super friendly, specially Cali who always greets me at the door and takes care of my take out!
Be sure to try out their salmon sashimi dinner, they have the best I've ever had.

The fish isnt fresh. Its a mediocre experice if you are looking for a true sushi experience. Fresh shrimp heads were so greasy Super nice staff. I drove 40 min to experience this place. No need to drive back.

Dinner at Shibui has been nothing less than amazing. I am a returning customer and am always tended to by friendly staff. I would like to acknowledge my wonderful waitress/hostess, her name is Cali. She has served my husband and I a few times and she has made each visit wonderful; Very tentative, friendly, and accommodating.

This place is gorgeous. The cute floor tables and leather cushions were nice. I went during Comicon weekend, so it was pretty busy. I did take into account the volume, but we really waited 30-50 min to eat after being seated. The food was okay. Nothing really stood out. Ive had better sushi rice from the publix sushi counter. It wasn't terrible, and the ambiance kept me in my seat intrigued. I might give it one more chance during a less busy day but I'm not going out of my way to go there. Great for couple photos though, so there's that.

This is one of our absolute favorite restaurants. We have been going there for over 25 years. Great food, great service, and cozy atmosphere.

Don’t like writing this kind of post but this was very disappointing. Takeout order was promised in 35-40 mins…sat in there (very uncomfortable) inside benches…watched other takeout customers walk in and out w/their orders. After 65 mins, asked for an explanation…shockingly, got the oldest excuse in the book (oh, some orders take longer…sorry).

Ricky, our server, was amazing to say the least. He made our experience fantastic. He was kind, humorous, and attentive. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal, as well. We did a dinner for two. It was absolutely delicious!

Food is good. We were 4 people and shared different types of sushi, sashimi, soft shell crab, calamari, Japanese noodles. Everything was good, not excellent. The best part of the evening were the waitresses, very nice and knowledgeable of the food they were serving. Good ambiance, a little bit noisy.
