Shula's Athletic Club reviews
26Badminton every thursday and every 1st, 3rd & 5th tuesday at 7: 30-9: 30pm and every sunday at 8am-3pm.
This is a very reasonably priced club with weights, cardio, studios for yoga/spinning, basketball and tennis. The latter clay and hard courts. My whole family enjoys it.
This club is a great place to practice badminton. The level of the game is from beginners to professionals. In the hall there are four courts, in the main play doubles and mixed, at the end of the coaching you can play singles. Training sessions are held three times a week: Tuesday 19: 30 - 21: 45, Thursday 19: 30 - 21: 45, Sunday 8: 00 - 14: 45. There are changes in the schedule, so it is better to call the club before visiting. I recommend this club for all badminton fans
Great gym to work out at nice staff would be nice if they would be open until 11 like before as they’re still charging me full price and haven’t pro rated my membership based on the change of schedule now I can barely use the gym
Shula's Athletic Club is a complete and competitive sports facility in the Miami/Miami Lakes Area. The gym has a well rounded assortment of equipment along with knowledgable trainers and instructors makes them a step above the basic cookie cutter gym. Management and staff are very friendly and professional; as well. The clay tennis courts have been lovingly rehabilitated with new sprinklers, windscreens, proper watering and regular maintenance to insure the safety and playability on the courts for our members and guests. Not to mention that court #5 has been completely resurfaced. Come out and see the difference for your self. We look forward to helping you achieve all your goals and fitness dreams.
PROFESSIONALISM at it's Best! That's what you received from everyone at Shula's, from Management Office, Trainers, Coaches, Instructors from any and all Fitness Classes, Stay Healthy Programs whether included in my Membership or Personal Coaches hired by the hour to Help me achieve my Goals.to the Members that attend the Club. Shula's Athletic Club is been my second Home and my place for Wellness for 25 years.
Customer service is horrible and trying to contact over the phone is an atrocious experience. Most staff members are misinformed about policies and because of that I was misinformed as well and charged unfairly for an extra payment.
Besides that, the gym is not worth what you are paying for, highly recommend going elsewhere for a much cleaner and better experience.
It's the only club in Miami where you can play badminton Thursday nights, Sunday mornings/afternoons, and every first and third Tuesday nights of the month.
This review is for the what they call basquetbal league. The guy that runs the league probably has been there for a lot of years and doesn't care about having any standards. There is a couple of leagues around the area for less money that offer more value do your research before putting your kid on the basquetball league.
This gym is at the top of my list. It’s very clean and very well staffed with the right individuals including the outstanding management. After being here I will never go to another athletic club, this is the place for all your workout needs and regiments.
I go there almost every single day. The staff is pretty much family and I literally couldnt ask for much more from a gym.
My gym of choice. 5 minutes walking distance from my home. Everyone there is pretty much familiar with each other.
Very dirty gym! The price is also quite high and closes early especially on weekends. The only good thing about this gym are the towels and the fact it is not extremely packed. I must repeat this gym has dust all over the place!
Unruly Kids rule this facility
While attending a zumba class a member had her two kids in the Zumba room. Thought that was a violation.those brats were filming the class with the member’s phone and making fun of the attendees. I complained to manager and never went back. Waste of money. Kids should stay in their area or not be there at all. Mothers/fathers should control their disrespectful brats.fruit doesnt fall far from tree it seems.
If you are looking for a professional atmosphere is definitely NOT the place. This gym has deteriorated and the atmosphere is, for the most part, very rough around the edges. A lot members are professional and very nice but they are overshadowed by the element that makes it unpleasant for those who just come here to work out after a long day at work or on the weekend to relieve stress. The do not have the sound proofing for the expansion they have built around the small space. The members using the weight room are constantly throwing the weights on the floor causing extremely loud noises on the 1st floor. The music from their Zumba class, which is mostly what they offer after work, is extremely loud and gymnasium noise spills out into the entire facility, especially the unruly kids running around gym and around the cardio machines. On the weekend there were about 20 or 30 kids and parents, behind the cardio machines screaming over and over again, trying to get pumped up for a game and there a large group in the evenings that camps outside in front of front door screaming. Many of us left the gym at that point on Saturday after the noise. Then there are those, mostly women, who literally camp out on cardio machines to sit there and talk to their friend, who is working out, or just talk on the phone, or they stand on treadmill and talk on the phone. They are not there to work out and you cannot drown out their voices even with headphones on. No one enforces the rules, if there are any.
Attended the Blacklight for Breast Cancer Week at Shula's and it was a great warm up for a sunday morning with a noce twist with the blacklight theme.
My favorite gym. Expensive but you get what you pay for. If you love working out in a gym that is big enough but not too big with some luxurious commodities, go to Shula's Athletic Club.
This club was designed for international-level Badminton play, with lights and A/C between courts and green walls. Badminton sessions are Thursdays, 7: 30 PM - 10: 30 PM, and Sunday 10: 00 AM - 3: 00 PM.
The BWF-sanctioned Miami Pan Am International Badminton tournament has been held here.
I received an excellent discount because of where I live in the community. The staff is helpful and friendly at the front desks. I receive tasks how my training is going and if there is anything they can do to help.
For $70+ a month, this place is a huge letdown.
I'd say "ripoff" but I'm trying to be nice.
They have a captive audience; Miami Lakes residents are trapped with terrible traffic during the rush hours, so they have no other place to go. But the moment LA Fitness opens up a location here these guys are doomed.
For $30 a month that would be pushing it. At over $70 a month this place is a tiny cramped tired ripoff.
