Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve North reviews
7Great trails, abet rough, through Flatwoods and scrub prairie surrounded by horse stables. Expect to see birds. Snakes are present but not to worry as they are more scared of you. Wear long pants and closed toed shoes. These trails are mowed not graveled.
Shaded trail, mostly. Very large area. Its dry at the moment. No water for gators but I did come across some wild hogs.
Its an abandoned park it seems.if thats what you are into, 5 stars.if you are expecting a well maintained trail, 1 star.
We found some cool animal bones.
The red trail is quite nice, just make sure you pay attention to the trail makers or you could miss some turns.
The yellow trail isn’t bad but really is more of an equestrian trail than hiking trail. The lake is goes to is quite nice, but the trail markers also disappear there so it’s easy to get turned around instead of completing the loop.
Make sure to bring plenty of water as there isn’t much shade!
This is my favorite preserve so far in the fort Myers area. Lots of birds, an occasional tortoise, flowing water, and alligators. The only downside is the full roar of human traffic on RT 80.
The footing isn't great for horses that's why I give it 3. It's nice for a short trail ride but it's just one loop.
Just did the shorter loop trail. Nice to get outside. Saw a good number of birds. Also equestrian trails. No pets.
