I had very bad experience. The car was having a lot of scratches all around, and was dirty inside and outside. Finally they provide to me another car, but this one did not have a window washer fluid. They must better check their cars before get it in rent. I was making prepaid for my small suv rent like 645$ for 5 days, at the check in they told me that they don’t have a car and they give me a large one without any extra charges. But finally after rent this guys charged me 160$ extra… customers support never work. Never back again, Hertz or some else much better … avoid this company

Beware don't walk in,
They train employees on how to con their customers, Had reservation for an A class benz $680.
Attendant said our name is wrong n needs c card in same name, he canceled our reservation n said we don't have benz nomore n can get a bmw for $1650.
We walked out n rented from a boot on left, $400 for sonata
At the hotel we realized all info was correct on reservation

I will never be renting with SIXT again.
Rented a car in Miami back in July. I’m from out of state so I didn’t know the situation with toll roads or express lanes. At the counter I opted out of the toll and decided to pay as I go. FOUR months later, I get a random charge on my credit card for $65. Rental agreement clearly states that if I opted out of the tolls, I’d have to pay $5 for each toll road plus the toll. After four months when the bill came in, turns out I went through 10 toll roads so that alone was $50. It would’ve been nice to have been informed after getting off a long flight instead of getting price gouged four months later.
Normally what has happened in the hundreds of times of my renting a car is that the clerk will recommend certain things and state why they would be cost effective.
Buyer beware, check the contracts and do not trust the people behind the counter to do what’s best by the customer.

EDIT to reply to SIXT below:
I know it was provided to me, I'm not saying it wasn't. I willingly signed the contract and are responsible for the charges. My problem is that the clerk was not transparent and did not offer any advice to us. Every other rental company clerk I have worked with has advised one way or the other. It's just a shame that either they weren't trained, were new, or just didn't care. As I'm sure you're aware, the contracts are lengthy and not the first thing you want to be reading after a long flight which is why clerks exist to make your time easier.
Like I said in my review and in this reply, I am fully aware that I signed for it and I am responsible for it, but having the clerk have the customer's interests in mind is delivering good customer service and SIXT did not meet that.

Very efficient and value for money, only thing i didnt like that they didnt have the car i rented, and the one they gave me instead (was an upgrade) but required much much more fuel…

SCAMMERS

Be very careful with SIXT, it's not a matter of SIXT being expensive or cheap, it's a matter of them being swindlers. I returned my car on 20/11 at 8 pm at Miami airport, I took it to the specific SIXT area (you can get in, but not out), and a perfectly uniformed SIXT person, very nice by the way, checked the car, picked it up, asked me for the key, told me that everything was OK, and that I could go to the terminal. I took my plane to Madrid at 10: 50 pm that night. Well, this “scum” told me that I had returned the car at 12: 21 pm on 21/11, when I had already been in Spain for several hours. I have tried to contact them several times, nobody answers. I have phoned the person who rented me the car, and the same, no answer, nothing. However, the charge on my card of more than 300 $ is not removed.
In 2021, when everything is full of video-cameras, is it so difficult to check that the car came in on the 20th? Can't they ask the person who was picking up cars that afternoon? What an outrage. What a pitiful company! I had never rented with them before. I had always rented with AVIS, but this time it happened that SIXT had an office in my hotel, in Miami, and that's why I rented with them on this occasion.
Second fraud: I bought the "prepaid gasoline service", 75 $, with the intention of not having to stop for gasoline. When I left Miami, I realized that they have given me the car with an almost empty tank. Unbelievable! This prepaid service only makes sense if they give you the car with a full tank. In conclusion: I had to fill the tank, 75 $, I had paid SIXT another 75 $, and I returned the car with the tank almost full, i.e, a 20 $ trip had cost me 150 dollars.

In Summary: DO NOT RENT WITH SIXT, THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED.

Mucho cuidado con SIXT, ya no se trata de que sean caros o baratos, se trata de que son unos timadores. Devolví mi coche el día 20/11 a las 8 de la tarde en el aeropuerto de Miami, lo llevé a la zona específica de SIXT (se puede entrar pero no salir) y me lo recogió una persona de SIXT perfectamente uniformada, por cierto muy amable, que reviso el cocje, me pidió la llave, me dijo que todo estaba correcto y que podía irme a la terminal. Cogí mi avión para Madrid a las 10: 50 pm de esa noche. Pues bien, esta gentuza me dice que he devuelto el coche a las 12: 21 del día 21/11, es decir cuando yo llevaba ya varias horas en España. He contactado con ellos varias veces, nadie contesta, he contactado con la persona que me alquiló el coche, sin respuesta, nada, pero el cargo en mi tarjeta de más de 300 dólares no lo quitan. En el año 2021, que está todo lleno de cámaras, ¿tan difícil es comprobar que ese coche entró el día 20? ¿No pueden preguntar a la persona que estaba recogiendo coches esa tarde? Qué barbaridad……. Que empresa tan lamentable, nunca alquilé con ellos, siempre con AVIS, pero casualmente tenían una oficina en mi hotel de Miami y por eso alquilé con ellos en esta ocasión.

Segunda estafa: Compro el “prepago de gasolina”, 75 dólares, con la intención de no tener que parar a repostar. Cuando he salido de Miami me doy cuenta que me han dado el coche con el depósito casi vacío, increíble, ese servicio de prepago solo tiene sentido si te entregan el coche con el depósito lleno. Conclusión: lleno el depósito, 75 dólares, pago a SIXT otros 75 dólares y devuelvo el coche con el depósito casi lleno, es decir un trayecto de 20 dólares me ha costado 150 dólares.

Resumen: NO ALQUILEN CON SIXT, NO SON DE FIAR

The car was clean, and the line was short, and the return process was pretty seamless. BUT the agent at pick-up tried to upsell us in a misleading and dishonest way. For example, he asked if we wanted either "basic" or "comprehensive" coverage, instead of asking, "Do you want to add coverage? " And made it seem like we had to pay for there coverage policy. He also gave us some misleading information about credit card companies and CDWs. He also tried to convince us to purchase the toll plan. We declined, but he pushed us hard on it and made us uncomfortable. Very sleazy.

I was forced to purchase SLI insurance when it was optional and I didn’t want it. Tolls admin fees are abusive. The rest was ok.

I had a horrible experience at Sixt Miami Airport

1 - My flight on Nov. 11 arrived late; I made it to the car rental center after midnight and there was no way for me to get the car. All other rental agencies will either work 24 hours (this is a major international airport in a major city!) or arrange for a way to get the car after hours - either by sending the customer to another agency who fills in for them or by letting people get the keys from the guys in the garage, where the return is. Sixt did nothing: there was no one in the garage, there was no sign at the counters. No one even bothered to call me to ask if I am running late and if I need someone to wait for me for another 15-20 minutes.

2 - I called Sixt hotline next day, November 12, to ask if the car I booked is still available. I got no response - the agent I got on the phone told me there is no way to reach the Sixt branch I am renting from, no way to see their inventory, and neither I can call them directly. All I was left to do is to pay for another trip to the airport with no guarantees I will get my car (or any car).

3 - When I came to pick up the car on November 13, I was not given the car I booked. I booked through Hotwire, "luxury Elite SUV, Audi Q7 or similar". The agent at the counter was trying to twist my arm into paying for optional insurance, despite the fact that I have comprehensive coverage from Geico that covers rentals. At the end, the agent just told me "if you don't want to pay extra for insurance, I am not giving you Volvo SUV, I am giving you a Jeep Cherokee". I checked Sixt website - Jeep Cherokee is a standard SUV, SFAR rate. "Luxury Elite SUV" is LFAR, two steps above.

4 - I have filed a complaint when I was talking to an agent over the phone on November 13. I still have not heard back; I tried emailing Sixt, but my ticket was closed with no response, because "there is a complaint already being processed".

I am mad and I am not letting this slide. I demand that you cut my rate and refund to me the LFAR vs. SFAR differential; I demand a refund for the two days I was not able to use the car (November 11 and 12) ; I demand reimbursement of what I had to spend on Uber from the airport and then back (that's roughly $70).

Inexcusable
No water on wipers, check engine light on, and maintenance required, all at pickup wanted to charge me extra for upgrade. Not up to Sixt standards.

I'll start by saying the gentleman that helped us at the desk was phenomenal! Everything was fast and smooth and we got a sweet car. But we already opted for no insurance, we have our own.but they charged us for extra when we declined! Upon returning to the airport they marked SEVERAL spots with damage on the car. NO WAY did we cause any of this damage. We took photos before leaving the parking garage at Sixt because we already knew based on other reviews left. No surprise to us, they marked "damage" ALL over the car and I didn't get to see any of this when I "signed". He said I was just signing that I returned the car, no other information given. We can see in the report there was lots of damage PRIOR to us even getting the keys. We are grateful that we had the car but I am NOT happy about the several hundreds of extra money charged WITHOUT my consent. I know the game, "you paid for insurance thankfully, so you don't have to pay for damages". Bull. You steal money from people. I don't leave bad reviews but I'm so upset and we won't be using Sixt again.
