Sonny's BBQ, St. Augustine FL

Quite disappointed in dinner tonight. I usually come to Sonnys, I have always had great feedback on their service and food. Tonight was the exception. The waitress was not friendly, she was in a hurry to leave, the food came cold and worst of all, I found hair in the meat. My wife had already mentioned the food to me, but I didn't want to ruin the night any more by telling her what I found.
Tonight Sonnys disappointed me, hopefully this is not taken the wrong way and they will return to make my favorite restaurant of smoked food.

Came in to place a to go order. Stood at the counter for 6 minutes without either of the two employees directly in front of me acknowledging my presence. Customer service was terrible!

Really slow to order. Slower to get food. Problems with some of our food (10 of us). Red neck egg rolls that were brought out were charred. Server recognized that & said would bring more. One meal was missing an item. Asked for mustard BBQ sauce on my pork plate 3 times, got regular BBQ. Had too much gooey fat in it. May have been other discrepancies too but was not aware of others.

In spite of some very difficult customers our waitress was pleasant and have us great service. The food was excellent! Sweet Carolina!

We had dinner there in mid December of 2021. It was around 6 pm. The hostess/waitress/bartender was phenominal. But.the food was just so-so. I was really disappointed because I thought I would be having an awesome meal. I ordered the trio sampler. Sliced brisket, ribs, and pulled pork. Everything was room temp and quite dry. I know they can do better but thats what they served me. They missed the mark big time. Not sure if I will ever go to this or any other Sonny's again.

I was excited to try out some new BBQ, the service seemed ok but then I started to notice that my husband was not getting the same quality of care that I was. The server was very kind to me, patient while I decided and asked questions about the menu.she seemed short with him and not as invested. When the time came to cash out the bill was handed to me.can't help but to wonder why he reached and it was placed in front of me.

Sonny's has had a makeover and it really done it right again the food was phenomenal p and the prices are pretty much the same p I recommend the brisket p grilled cheese sandwich.

Ordered a kids meal for my son, the charged me for a full meal a difference of $10 when I questioned it told me they do t have that for kids meal and charged me full price. Other wise food was good and plentiful.

Thank you Jesus for Sonny's Pork dinner and sweet bbq sauce delivered by courteous waitress. Get your food while it's.

Just so amazing and delicious, my only issue is we got curbside (3 of us) we all put we wanted sweet and sizzling sweet. When I got home I checked the sauce bag and they only have us sweet and smokey.

I ordered the dry ribs and they brought me barbecue, they were half raw, pork cannot be eaten half raw, it cost me a week with colic and stomach illness, to the point that I am taking antibiotics, the beer was not cold, otherwise the service was quite good

It's a chain BBQ restaurant. There has never been good barbecue come from a chain barbecue restaurant. Understand what you're getting.

They explained that they were short on staff. The order was not delivered correctly. The meat was very dry and had no flavor. The beans were dry and hard. The waitress didn't offer any type of corrective option. This was a very bad experience.

Blind trust report: 1. They gave 5 star quality service. 2. You can see some food preparation if you seat in the middle set of booth’s. 3. The restaurant was clean, a great place to visit while vacationing Florida. 4. In my opinion all restaurants receive 3 stars out of my standard rating scale in the blind trust report. How well can you blindly trust your restaurant?

Just had pick up from Sonny's BBQ. I ordered cornbread and had garlic toast, chicken was undercooked (still red by the bones) and the ribs were definitely not golling of the bone. The best out of our order was the string beans and baked beans.

Excellent BBQ had the pulled chicken sandwich & the baby back ribs sides were potato salad & Mac n Cheese that turned out delicious. They have multiple sauces on the table to choose from. Atmosphere was nice and clean. Highly recommend!

Last wee k we had a wonderful meal at Sonny's. This week we had the same meal with the same waitress and it was horrible. The Cole slaw was stale, the sliced pork was cut from one slab of 50% fat and gristle The waitress came by after I had eaten half my fried and, reluctantly, took my sandwich to show the kitchen. In 10 minutes or so, she came back with a new sandwich, no frie. When I asked to have them back, she said I would need to wait for some to be cooke. This us at lunchtime. I'd say this was done on purpose. I left the food, but I won't be back either. Bad food and poor service. A quick way to ruin a restaurant

It was interesting but we were left to our own devices and unsure where we were permitted and not permitted. There is a good variety of animals. Most didn't seem to want to be petted but would gladly come to you if you had food for them (available for purchase at the entrance). Apparently there is any area where children can go inside and be with the animals but there are too many animals and no supervision/staff watching to be sure there is safety. We stayed outside of that fenced area and tried to pet a few but they were only interested in food which we had already given away. It requires some maintenance and staff supervision but overall the children enjoyed their visit

Poor service. The food was dry and had no flavor. Can't believe the good reviews on this place. We are not from the area so probablywe are used to a different standard

Love the food but service there was so very slow had to reorder my because they were burnt and had to wait forever to get them back and basically left when they came to thetable
