Oxtails are fantastic here. The woman that owns the place happened to be my server and she was very gracious and friendly.

Way overpriced for what you get. The oxtail was amazing, but when I got the bill I thought they made a mistake. Forget catalytic converters, I'm going to be riding around town stealing oxtails now if that's how much they worth. Had to take out a second mortgage so forget college, kids, daddy had to eat that oxtail.

I went there for the first time today, and was NOT disappointed! The lady serving the food was super nice, plus the food was some of the best food I've had for a long time!

Trying a new spot and it was well worth it. The food was delicious. Everyone was very friendly and inviting. We left full and they have great sweet tea. We will definitely be back. Home cooked veggies. I honestly could have just had a plate of all the veggies.

First time here and we are so happy that we came! The owner is friendly. The food is top knotch, very tasty, fresh, homemade. We highly recommend!

Great food, very friendly lady running the place. The entrees being offered that day are in sight at the hit table asking with the sides. I got the ox tails with mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and green beans. You can choose mashed potatoes or rice, and then your sides from a selection of about 8 sides they cooked up that day. The macaroni and cheese is definitive southern style. The ox tails are full of amazing flavor and extremely tender. I also got a piece of meat loaf a la carte which was really good, topped with a very tangy red sauce. Judging by the way she greeted almost everyone who came in by name, I'm guessing there's a lot of repeat business here. After tasting the food, I can see why. Definitely worth the price.

We had the ox tail and two sides. Everything was fresh and homemade. The ox tail was very flavorful with just the right amount of seasoning. The okra and tomatoes were perfect and the candied yams were fresh pealed potatoes cooked. They had a large selection of homemade desserts also. Angie definitely knows how to cook.

Very tasty food, home style is what this place is about. Great pork chops and Mac and cheese.

Friendly owner. I got turkey wings, green, and mac and chese. My Friend got the oxtail with same sides. It was a bit of sticker shock when we got the price on the food. There wasn't any pricing listed. It would be helpful to list price of food to let customers make an informed decision when visiting their restaurant.

We came to Southern Palate after a float down the rainbow river and we will definitely be back. The food was some of the best comfort food I’ve had in a long time. The Mac and Cheese, rice and gravy, fried chicken, and bread pudding were highlights and I’ll be dreaming about the lemonade all summer.

The staff was so hospitable and lovely to talk to. They have a beautiful back patio space and the owner even came out to check on us. We all left full and raving about the food and service.

After reading other reviews it sounds like they constantly are switching up the menu and there were lots of things I didn’t get to try. I can’t wait for our next trip!

This is home cooking at it's finest! What Miss Angie does in the kitchen is nothing short of magic. Definitely worth the visit. I know we'll be back!

This was our first time there. I had oxtails, rice, green beans, and yams. Every item was cooked just right. My husband had a big turkey wing and rice, greens, Mac and cheese. He enjoyed everything on his plate as well. Delicious meals all and all! Than you Angie! We will be back!
