St. Augustine Humane Society reviews
20We've taken our dog to the SAHS for grooming. He gets very nervous when separated from the pack but the staff are so great that he pulls to get inside when we pull up. Of course, the doggy jacuzzi with message doesn't hurt in that regard.
Wonderful, caring people! Thank you so much Chantel and Jeanie with all your help getting "Busy Bella" spayed and microchiped. Such wonderful and caring staff.
I luv them! Please donate to them. They provide amazing no nonsense care for you fur baby. Truly I trust them way more than any private practice I've used.
Best vet, dr rocky, & staff in st augustine for reasonable pet care. Found 2 stray cats & wanted checked out before bringing in. Received such good care i bring all 3 in now. It's always a good thing to support the humane society. They do such great things in the community.
Are you kidding? You girls are awesome, informative, educational, helpful, friendly. Just when I really needed some direction for my 3 rescues, $Money$ tight, new to the area, just got what I needed. Thank You So much.
It's extremely hard to get in there just to pick up some flea medicine. They are usually always closed or only accepting animals who needs surgery first thing in the morning.
Great Spay and Neuter services available and at low prices. Remember most of the doctors and nurses are VOLUNTEERS. Animal Food and other Services available. Great people work and Volunteer there.
The place did make a good impression. You get what you pay for. My husband dropped our kitten off for fixing. When I went to pick him up in the afternoon, I was shocked that I could not get in. There is no waiting room, you wait outside. When the first person came in to see me, she told me what my balance was, without showing me any paperwork. I asked how my kitten is doing and to see paperwork. She slammed the door and went to get another person to assist me. The other person was very nice.
However, my kitten is very friendly and they told me he was not well behaved and was in “time out. ” I was shocked. My cat is very friendly. The only explanation is that the staff does not treat animals in a warm friendly manner and my cat was scared. When the doors were opening for staff, I smelled urine so I don’t think the place is clean. I do not recommend. Please go to Jax humane society instead. It’s a nice and clean place. Same pricing.
With all that said, the procedure was successful and so far no issues.
I took my cat to the spat/neuter clinic they have on Tuesday’s. I was pretty nervous since it was my cat’s first time at the vet and she’s my first cat, but the staff did a wonderful job making sure I understood everything. The morning after surgery my cat was already wanting me to play with her and being her normal self (even though she’s supposed to be resting). Highly recommend this place, not only are they very affordable but they do great work!
Horrible place they are cheap but very rude to people and rough with your pets, the manager in particular is very rude and will always blame you over their staff. I don't recomend these people, they are very rude to their owners, they handle the animals roughly and refuse to let you in the room where they administer shots and precheck up. If you take your pets to get neutered or spayed youd better be on time other wise after 30 min they will charge you an additional 25$ fee and after an hour they will turn your precious pet over to the pound. The manager in particular is very rude and basically said when I complained that my business was not needed because they help thousands of people and most employees are volunteers and that I was not welcomed back. Please do not take your pets to this rude place, banfield is similarly priced and far nicer. I give this place a 0points.
I don't care for unreasonabl policy if your half an hour late after being notified your pet is done is $25 after an hour your pet goes to the pound and you abandon them plus they charged more than told
I had to wait in line 30 minutes for a scheduled neutering appt for my 9 month old male shih tzu. It was unfair because the ppl in front of me were not there for the surgery.surgeries should be taken in FIRST, especially when I arrived 45 mins before my 8am appt time.very inefficient check in!
We love the St. Augustine humane society pet clinic! All of the staff is always so helpful and wonderful!
This is a low cost wellness clinic for cats and dogs for people who are in financial need. Dr. Rockey is an amazing veterinarian who is caring, compassionate and always ready to offer options in the care of your pet. They offer a low cost spray/neuter and a trap rental to catch feral cats to get them fixed. The rental fee is reimbursed when the trap is returned. This is not a full service veterinarian office, it is basically wellness care. They are in the process of expanding so they will be able to offer more services in the next few months. I trust them with the care of my cats and I highly recommend them for the treatment of your cats or dogs.
They were very helpful. We will be going back, with our Border/ Corgi mix, 6 year old dog, next time she needs to see a Vet. Thank you so much.
My mother has had to bring in several cats to be fixed here. Because the out of control feral cat problem in the county, many have found their way onto her property. The staff that takes the animals in and out to be fixed are NASTY. It can’t even be chalked up to one “bad day”, as they have given the same snippy, eye rolling service every time we’ve brought in cats to be fixed. Sadly, they really are the only option for the feral cat issue due to the much higher costs at the local vets. Oddly, the one time we brought a cat in for a “normal” appointment, the staff inside was lovely. Total 180 from the people that deal with the spay/neuter group outside. If anyone there actually reads these reviews, the rude people we deal with while spending our own money trying to help with a county problem, really should be addressed. They’re rudeness is off the scale, and they need to be held accountable.
They take good care of your pets there and we spoke price for shots and that visits and medicines
Very rude woman who runs it does care about your pet only thing they wont is the money doesnt care about your pet at all.
Absolutely fantastic. I've been rescuing cats and I could never afford it without the Humane Society. They have been so kind.
Excellent staff. Professional. Took great care of my Scuttle a few weeks back. Top notch. Especially Steve, his smile warms the room.
