St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum reviews
20Absolutely amazing, the tour guide was super fun. Will go back for a self guided tour sometime just to take it all in, there's so much to see!
I had to talk my husband into touring this museum because he thought it would be on the cheesy side but by the time we were finished he was so thankful that I was persistent in going! It was amazing! I had originally heard about the museum on the Travel or History channel so I knew it was going to be the real deal and it didn't disappoint!
This place is great for adults and kids! The staff is super friendly and courtesy. The amount of time dedicated to this place is amazing. If you love pirate things then you will love this place. The amount of things they managed to put in here is so cool. Definitely a staple for anyone who visits Saint Augustine.
Great place! Lots of very interesting and fun things to see and interact with here. Great for smaller kids. Be sure to do the scavenger hunt with your pre-teens.
It’s just the right size. The kids and I had a nice time spooking around all the neat exhibits. They were not too keen on the “pirate show” as they don’t like the dark and they don’t like loud noises. But they had a great time and spent a lot of it in the packed gift shop.
Great interactive museum for all ages. Had 2 adults and two kids (5&7). Exhibits are interesting on their own, but decor definitely adds to the experience - Port Royal, in a tavern, on the pirate ship in several areas, shipwrecked, etc. Lots to see, doing the scavenger hunt with the kids was also fun. Firing the cannon was top notch for me.
Great fun! The tour is interactive and great for all ages. Get the bundle tickets and go next store and make sure you do the guided tour! It's worth it!
It was ok. The museum was small and I was expecting more hands on items for my 4 year old to do. The cannons are the only thing that really made her excited.
Amazing place! Will return to see again! Worth the experience and worth the price. We love it!
And of course don't forget, they have the best pirate (the guide) of all the Florida cost. Magical stories and high knowledge of his job! Amazing! Simply wonderful!
This place was pretty awesome. Tons of unique things to see. I can't believe how vast the history of pirates in Florida is.
This place is a must see during your visit! It's a little hidden gem we found and it has so many cool artifacts. I would highly recommend!
A very nice museum next to the Colonial Experience, this had an awesome guide. A young gentleman dressed up in pirate garb of course walks through each room giving a bit of pirate history and explaining each of the exhibits. And.at the end he sings a quaint pirate tune. What tune be that? Go ye landlubbers and pirates alike and see for yerselves! ARRRRRH!
Worth the experience. Great prices. Fun all around. You wouldn't expect this to be so impressive with history and artifacts. But it is!
Clean bathrooms!
Don't miss the room with the interactive audio story! (i forgot the name of this event) Really felt as if you were there.
Great place for kids. Or Adults with big imaginations:)
What an awesome place. I love they had a treasure hunt for kids and very cool pirate relics. Worth it. I was the first to say it would be cheesie, but completely changed my mind. Must go to in St. AUGUSTINE.
This was one of my favorite places we visited today. This is fun for anyone and all ages. Make sure you take a guided tour with Captian Mayham. He is very interactive and an excellent story teller. He is the treasure to this adventure. If you want insight on the artifacts and a real educational and entertaining experience.
The Pirate museum contained a lot of interesting stuff. It was a lot better than I thought it might be based on the size of the building. It contains interactive things that are fun for kids and big kids.
My GF even liked it
The tour done by Captain Mayhem was informative and a lot of fun. You really need to catch one of his tours
We also got the combo tickets for the historic site next door. Which was also cool. I'll do a separate review on it.
And we ate at the seafood company which was actually a really good and had some unique things to try.
Pretty cool lots of pirate information and artifacts. Nice to have the treasure hunter for the young ones to keep them occupied.
Loved this place. Take the free guided tour and you will experience so much more. So many things to learn here. If you are a pirate lover or just like museums. This is a definite must stop. The museum is set up like old rooms. It is NOT a warehouse feel with artifacts on display.
During the free guided tour you will learn the history about the museums collection as well as learn popular beliefs about pirates.
This is a must see, especially if you have children. I will be returning in the future.
Been obsessed with pirates since I was a kid and this was spectacular. So much amazing information, artifacts, stories, all kinds of stuff. We spent a good 2 hours in there!
It is small but very well done. They cram a lot in a fairly small place. There is a decent number of real artifacts and interactive exhibits. Everything in the museum well done, clean and professional; nothing is just "thrown together. " Very informative and good for kids. Overall, a fun little stop worth your time.
