Best dentist in Sarasota! David is very knowledgeable and does great work. I come for regular cleanings with Phyllis and she is always gentle and does a phenomenal job.

Georgette is an excellent hygienist. I have never had a cleaning that was done so well. There is no question that when the cleaning is done, you feel like it was done very professionally and the time was taken to do it right.
You will never want to use another hygienist again.

Dr. David Smith is a genuinely concerned Dentist who always makes me feel cared for. I told him about my fear during a few procedures and he really listened and everything turned out great! The whole staff is really lovely and I would honestly recommend them.

I had a dental appt. (Cleaning) scheduled for Monday, Feb. 20,2023. Unfortunately, I broke my tooth the night before. Dr. Smith saw me after my cleaning and determined I needed a crown on the broken tooth. He was able to perform the prep work immediately for the temporary crown and is able to put in the permanent crown on March 2nd.
Dr. Smith is so professional, friendly, knowledgeable and is willing to go “above and beyond” for his patients. Kudos to his staff…Phyllis, Nita, Alexis and Sophia for taking care of my dental needs. I appreciate EVERYONE in the office. I highly recommend Sterling Dental.

Every process here is geared toward efficiency and respect for the patients. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is calming. Phyllis was my hygienist and first rate. Dr Smith created a plan for my treatment that included my input. I am very happy that I’m a patient of Dr. Smith.

My family has been patients at Sterling for over 7 years and just had a heart breaking experience with the current dentist, Dr Smith. After I emailed the office to ask Sterling for help in correcting an alignment problem caused by a night guard and daytime retainer I received from their office a few years ago, I was asked to schedule an appointment to see Dr Smith to talk about options. When I sat down in the dental chair, Dr Smith was instantly defensive and told me that the alignment issue was caused by the previous dentist and that whatever financial expense it would cost to fix my teeth was not his problem. In fact, he spent almost 30 minutes of my time bad mouthing the previous dentist - in addition to insulting my parents for not educating me on the importance of wearing my original retainer from 30 years ago (for the rest of my life) - instead of helping to find a solution to fix my teeth. When I brought up a complaint in the past, I was told by his office “wait and see” or “I’ll get used to it" until I decided to get a second opinion. After I told Dr Smith that I got a second opinion and they confirmed the alignment issue was caused by the night guard, Dr Smith told me he knew nothing about the problem and handed me a dismissal letter that he had ready for me, written before my appointment. The whole experience was embarrassing and hurtful! I was tricked into making an appointment and wasting my time. I was handed a letter to be dismissed as a patient with no verbal explanation of why. A simple phone call would have been a lot kinder. My family has had a relationship with Sterling for years - I’ve been a model patient and have always taken good care of my teeth, paid my bills on time and kept my appointments. I feel like I deserve better treatment than what I received from Dr Smith. I wish I were bragging about the great customer care I received here, but instead this dentist has been unkind and untrustworthy. I post this because I want to share my experience and let others know to think twice about getting dental work done here. This office does not take responsibility for their actions or the actions of other dentists who have worked at Sterling. They just don't seem to care about their patients. I’ve since moved on and really like my new dentist - I realize now that as consumers, we have lots of choices.

I visited Sterling for a cleaning and was not disappointed. Phyllis was wonderful, gentle and thorough. I also had two old fillings replaced at a different time.
However, I learned on my way out of the office that my insurance is no longer in the network therefore I may have to find another dentist. So sad!

I was in for 6 month X-rays and cleaning. Dr Smith, hygienist and staff were very friendly and efficient. Highly recommend this office for your dental needs.

Dr. Smith’s clinical and office staff are professional.friendly and informative. Scheduling an appointment is quick, didn’t have to wait weeks for my daughter to be seen for a cavity that needed to be filled. I highly recommend Dr. Smith and his staff for all your families dental needs.

Dr. David Smith is a very attentive Dentist. Appreciated his thorough explanation of consequences of not having procedures done and other options. Most of all the difference it will make in appearance with or without procedure. Truly a Dentist dedicated to His work. The staff here are Amazing. Just a good wholesome environment you can feel. Now, I'm not one to review dentists. I'd rather pretend the dentist is imaginary until appointment time rolls around. Sterling Dental on the other hand, is a dentist even the most squeamish wouldn't fear.

The gental touch, and top of the line equipment makes any procedure feel like nothing. I nearly fell asleep in the chair. Would nap there again.
