Suburban Propane reviews
11Requesting new propane tank and propane service for 22KW Generac backup power system. The Generac installation company recommended a 250 gallon propane tank since I do not have natural gas access on my street in Killearn. Suburban comes highly recommended!
Customer service lady is very rude. We moved into our house with an existing propane tank in the yard. Our only knowledge of propane tanks was that you fill them when they’re empty. The tank was full when we moved in so we would fill it when it was empty. Letters from the company kept coming for the previous owners and we continued to send them back to the post office. Fast forward 6 months and we come home to a notice saying the gas was being cut off. We thought that was strange since the tank was owned and we didn’t have an account with Suburban. We hadn’t called anyone to fill it and we weren’t in need of gas. Turns out the previous owners had an account set up that billed monthly for what they used like the power company. Since the bill was in the previous owners name and there was a balance they couldn’t open an account for us and forward the balance for the gas we used for 6 months. We were fine paying the bill for what we used until we found out that the previous owners had told Suburban to cancel their account and for whatever reason it was never canceled and the tank was never blocked so that we would need to set up an account when we moved in. They also didn’t empty the tank. So we set up an account to pay for the gas remaining in the tank since that was agreed upon by us and them. We get a call a month after paying that bill from a very rude lady wanting us to pay for the previous balance. We ask what is needed of us for them to leave us alone and cancel our account and another representative with a better attitude ends up figuring out a solution. They decide that we can move forward with abandoning the tank, but they claim the tank was being rented. It’s very obvious this tank has been buried for at least 20 years and we found a sticker on the tank from their company that says it’s a customer owned tank. The previous owners also had paperwork stating the tank was owned when they purchased the property. However, we settle on another $200 and they leave us alone with paperwork stating the tank and meter are ours. We were in the process of switching to natural gas anyway so we will never have to deal with them again.
Awesome customer service with office staff and installation of gas tank
Onsite service
Took awhile to come get tank and then left lines up in the air. What do I do with this? I no longer have gas and no need for the line.
The tank valves had a leak and 500 to six hundred in propane leaked out. I'm not a happy camper. Bill Freeman
Both office staff and field personnel were excellent in getting my propane tank replaced. Great service and on time!
Just spoke to the rudest customer no service representative Leeann marie! All I wanted to know was what it will cost to discontinue my service. All I got was a defensive and aggressive answer.
Not very helpful. Makes me want to switch to natural gas. At least they are knowable and pleasant to speak to.
They were helpful and have good customer service. They delivered the gas on time. I would recommend anyone to them.
Surburban Propane is a ripoff company. After "fees" I was charged $7.60 a gallon for propane. I don't know if other propane companies are as bad, but Surburban sure is. Watch the fine print with any business you do with them, you may be stuck with an unconscionable contract. One that gives you no options if you are dissatisfied with the poor service. No stars is my true rating!
Technician is thorough, polite and patiently explains all aspects of the job description and estimate. Office communications are curt, and matter-of-fact. The old adage of ‘you never forget how you were treated’ comes to mind but I find I come from a by gone era where there was much better communication with much less technology and devices.
It was a pleasure to work with Suburban Propane. From my first call to the delivery of a new propane storage tank, the people were helpful and went out of their way to accommodate my needs. Service was on time, efficient, friendly, and effective. This was NOT my experience with another company. I'd recommend Suburban Propane enthusiastically to anyone and everyone.
