Sumter County Tax Collector, Wildwood FL

Don’t expect anyone to have an answer or to even answer the phone. I would say that this is hands-down the most unprofessional and disgustingly ran county office that I’ve ever had to deal with in my entire life. Every time I called in to ask a question I was hung up on transferred to a voicemail or told I don’t know…. Unbelievable

This is the worse tax collector office i have been to.they can't take people from other counties. Supposedly excuse "covid". Oh but get this not one wearing a mask. The place looks so outdated. I do like that you can sit if needed. Maybe they should vote for a different tax collector?

My wife and I recently moved to Florida and had to get our licenses and tags switched. We went to the Sumter County office. Everyone here was super nice and helpful. Sometimes you do not look forward to tasks like getting car tags and licenses. But, it would be my advice to anyone needing to do these things is not to dread going here. You experience will be pleasant and the time will be efficient.

I have lived in Minnesota, Utah and Florida and I have never experienced the service like I have here. Thank you so much for making this process better. Great customer service!

I have applied for a DL, titled and registered three vehicles and surrendered two plates at this facility and on all 5 visits I found the personnel to be outstanding. The receptionists are pleasant, prompt and knowledgeable, and the inside staff very efficient. I don't cringe at the thought of a visit to the DMV anymore!

Frustrating at best. Avoid unless you enjoy wasting your time. Waiting over 40 minutes to see clerk who read thru docs and let me know that an addition form was required. She outline what was required. I returned later with form, but unfortunately not the same clerk.
What I had been told was supposedly incorrect and after waiting a hour to see this clerk was sent away again. No scanned copies allowed, of course the document states that nor did the clerk mention that fact.
Was also told by clerk that Living Will prepared and signed by Florida attorney was not enough, a Will would also be needed. The Florida attorney stated not using will allowed us to forgo probate was not required. Simply "googling" this question got an answer.

Awful place to be. Marion County DMV is worth the drive. Untrained, and unprofessional staff. Every place I’ve ever worked at has promoted good hygiene, yet a few staff members I dealt with had a foul odor. The lot in the back was dirty and sketchy as well.

This County DMV ROCKS! Providing Extra services such as Immediate title printed on site, most CDL Issues, A DRIVE THRU + the usual " DMV Stuff" (Orange County Fla (Orl.) would require TWO Or THREE different DMV location Visits To do All Above!)

A surprisingly great experience. No wait. Efficient, we were able to transfer our tag, license, and voter ID all within minutes. The agent was very pleasant and helpful. Overall a very well run organization.

Completely incompetent employee running the check in. Wasted 30 minutes of my time. Was clearly not trained properly.

Very nice folks if you bring the right paperwork you don't get refused services these folks are very helpful PS read the instructions to those who complain

The staff is not usually helpful. Samantha wouldn't even answer my questions. It seemed as if they were not genuinely happy to serve the public. I didn't feel very valued, and they definitely were not knowledgeable to address any concerns.

Whenever I attempted to visit my facility paid for by my taxes, a big fat person named Samantha physically barricaded the doorway and impeded my traffic into room 135 which is a public lobby-it says so right on the door. I was completely disgusted by the way she treated me, and I was disappointed and felt her actions really showed her own ineptitude. It was pretty much par for the course, an accurate reflection of the attitude in general when dealing with Sumter County Tax Collector. They don't want to provide services.

Went to speak with a manger about attaining services from this location. The manager kicked me out just because I was using a camera in public. It's just as well. They would apparently rather the public didn't frequent the location, nor take a closer look into how our tax dollars are being spent. They were not very friendly or accommodating here.

Some ignorant bully named "Samantha" wouldn't let me into get public information in the dmv. She said I'm "not allowed" to unless I have an appointment, but then wouldn't let me make an appointment. I felt discriminated against, and physically threatened.
