Sun Beach Inn reviews
18Except the location, nothing is great with Sub Beach Inn. First of all there is no place called Sun Beach Inn. It's actually called as Hollywood Beach Hotels. Parking is not free on hotel premises and there is limited parking space. Room service is pretty bad and all the hotel premises are filled with platic covers and derbies.
(I shop by reviews 1st!) 5 star here!
(this is not a resort, it is a room. Keep that in mind, but an exceptional one!)
This place was extremely extremely clean! This is important to me, because I work in medicine, but it should be important to everyone, & I also own & run my own Airbnb's. So I constantly look with a scrutinizing eye!
Location, location!
Steps away from the beach & the boardwalk. City keeps the beach extremely clean also. Lots of amenities along the boardwalk.
Walking distance to the water taxi!
Room with a kitchenette? Awesome! I bought fresh fish / seafood for every day to cook in my own room, made my own fresh salads to take to the beach, although there are lots of great restaurants walkable in the area.
Strong police presence at the beach, which made me feel safe!
* bring your own beach towel, or you will wish you had ($20 deposit for a scrawny one) which reveals why they need to do this
" complimentary parking" was advertised, misleading, as it is - $20 / day, thru them, other unaccomodating options available.
Free breakfast, appreciated, although the minimum, but appreciated.
Check in instructions were not included. I was not the only one left Questioning the instructions on how to do this. There is an office located two buildings over.
Although your staff might be very good at what they do, a smile and a friendly, cheerful attitude does go a long way. Staff seem like they were very unhappy.
(you really could ise more staff for the check out process with the # of occupancy)
I really enjoyed this place! The prices were extremely reasonable, and then I was told upon arrival I could've even had a better rate booking directly through them. I am definitely keeping them in my contacts for my next visit!
Ownership is doing a great job here
You are a good role model for this business
The reviews are VERY misleading. Room extremely dirty doors are dirty walls are dirty look like moisture is seeping through the walls. Loud and front desk wait time very long this HOTEL IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING
Cons:
The office is hard to find. The woman on the evening staff was not friendly at all and seemed irritated when I asked questions. Then, I was harassed right outside the office by a vagabond who followed me into the office, outside the office, and down the street while yelling at me. Parking is an extra $18. There's a deposit of $100. Breakfast was less than continental. Certain room numbers are hard to locate.
Pros: I can say the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It is steps from the beach and has 2 small swimming pools.
I would pay more to stay somewhere else in the future.
THE POSITIVE:
Two steps from the beach.
Comfy bed and clean sheets and towels (laundry is good).
THE NEGATIVE:
Careless and old furniture.
The room needs urgent renovation.
The kitchen does not have a single glass, cutlery or plates. Nothing.
The floor full of sand, not very clean, in addition to needing deep cleaning.
They clean the room and make the bed ONCE EVERY THREE DAYS.
Walls full of chips.
The hair dryer didn't blow air and was clogged with lint.
The staff in general is not too friendly and honestly, they are not going to be miss friendliness.
I recommend it for a night or two at most.
The location is great, only 30m to the sandy beach. Bed and kitchenette very good, the rest of the room needs a renovation. The reception is very small and a bit hidden. Pest control doesn't seem to be taken too seriously. We had a huge cockroach in the room under the bed.
The breakfast is underground.
After reading some reviews i was sceptical of staying at this spot but i can genuinely say i enjoyed my 3 night stay here. The room was clean everything worked as it was intended to, the water in the shower does take a while to heat up to steaming temp and water pressure isnt the best but enough to shower properly. The kitchen was a plus and i like how you have to call to get a kitchen supply box for those who choose to cook inside. The free breakfast wasnt the greatest but its free alot of fancy resorts dont even have free breakfast so also a plus for me when i dont feel like making breakfast and want a quick bite to eat. Overall i was given a proper place to lay my head and enjoy all essentials with a great price. I didnt have a car but you do have to pay for parking and you are charged resort fee per night which is a downer hence the 4 stars. Also checking in did have a wait when i arrived but i did visit the check in office a few times during my stay and it wasnt nearly as busy.
Staff was very helpful and courteous.
The pros:
The price
The Location… you are not even 2 walk from the beach. I got the studio number 9 upstairs, very spacious with 1 king closed bedroom and 1 queen in the living room, 1 sofa bed, table for 6 and kitchenette.
Cleaning was ok, just the minimum.
Free Breakfast was a big plus.
Better to pay for parking while checking.
The cons: They can improve maintenance, cleaning and style.
Overall it’s good for the price/location/quality.
Bad service, they charge cleaning fees and don't clean, people talking loudly all night, they don't change the towels, they are of poor quality, air conditioning Runs the water inside the room, very small bathroom, Bad bed with no utensils in the mini kitchen, and the room has a strong smell of pine and is not really clean.
Arriving late, parked initially an issue. Check-in not as smooth as it could have been. Room door had no number and showed signs of forced-entry, had to use process of elimination to identify door. Interior of roof clean, but exterior lacked attention. Some furniture was dated. Water pressure in shower low and took a while to heat up. No kitchen utensils provided. The breakfast provided around the corner was a huge disappointment. Unsightly bowl of boiled eggs and little else. I had two slices of raisin bread and a taste of the non-juice, tasteless "juice". My wife found nothing to eat. Poor breakfast. We opted not to utilize for the next two mornings.
I recently had a terrible experience with Sun Beach Inn that refused to change or cancel my reservation due to severe bad weather. I had booked a room a few days but unfortunately, a severe storm with heavy rain and flooding had hit the area, making it impossible for us to travel.
When I contacted the hotel to request a change in date or cancelation of my reservation due to the weather, they flatly refused. They cited that their policy.
I was very disappointed and frustrated by this response. The hotel clearly did not care about the safety and wellbeing of its guests, as prompt action must be taken during severe weather conditions. It was as if they were more interested in their money than their guest's welfare.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone due to their lack of empathy and understanding towards their guests' predicaments. I don't think this is the right way to treat guests, and I hope they reconsider their policies and procedures in the future.
Is beautiful place fantastic location
Checking was a nightmare
When you go to the website to book it says $25 hotel fee per stay
It's actually $25 per day
Plus they charge about 3 times when it costs for a parking permit from the city of Hollywood to park under location
No cable, no view, super small, no coffee, hidden fees. Oh, they offer a free beer to anyone that leaves a good review. STAY AWAY
Do yourself a favor. Go somewhere else or pay extra money for a better accommodation. If ever you are planning to stay close to the beach, Avoid this one. Staff was rude AF. We couldn't find their reception area so we had to asked somebody and found it that it looked like a little convenient store. They gave us a room which was a block away from our original hotel. So we had to drag our bags to our hotel. The key didn't work at first for multiple attempts. Hidden fees. No cable, blow dryer is broken, telephone is not working, breakfast was a joke. Kitchen attendee was not friendly at all. We should have known better. Oh well! Lesson learned.
At first glance. Not to impress any sort of warm feeling. No parking with the office being down the street. The long line at check in. The warm feeling of a suspicious people in line at check in. Cleanliness of the office and outside. Every fiber of my body said run, and run as fast as you can. For the price of staying at the beach, all Aesop's fables come with a simple answer.
We have stayed here three times now and we love it here! Each time we came we had no issues with checking in and getting the exact room each time. They do advise you while booking that their main office is around the corner, the next block over. Less than a 2 min walk. The beach is even closer! We love it here! Also last time we were here we left our wallets after checkout and when we went to the office, they had our wallets and all valuables inside waiting for us. Def appreciated that! The space is clean and spacious and I look that they have a kitchen in the room! Can’t wait to go again!
Avoid these dumps!
Rundown motel rooms. Dirty, worn-out furnishings, furniture like from bulky waste, staff (accidentally) came into the room at night, party noise all night and howling engines (from illegal car races/show drivers). Unfriendly staff (manage about 20 such "accommodations" in a small kiosk). Parking is $18 extra!
Compliments to the photographer. The images are real - but it takes an incredible amount of talent to get such overly flattering images out of the Morel and its grisly surroundings.
I booked this hotel over the internet. When I arrived at the address there was no service office and I would have to walk with my 9 bags to the office. Disappointing!
