Sun-N-Fun RV Resort, Sarasota FL

Our family stayed her for 1 week over the July 4th Holiday. It was our first experience here and we had high expectations because of the website that lays out all of their amenities.

Our stay got off to a bad start when we arrived at almost noon and were told that we had to pay 25 dollars to check in early. We were told check In was at 2pm, there was no one on our site but we were still told we had to pay or wait. We paid.later I found my confirmation email that said check in is at 1 pm.and it made no mention of a early check in fee. We have full timed in our RV for over 4 years and this is the first time we have ever been told to pay to check in early. Without going into too much detail, our site was way in the back next to some perminant trailers that were falling apart and garbage everywhere outside their unit. An eyesore that we had to look at for a week. Our spot had beer cans, latex gloves and other trash left that I had to clean. We complained about that fact and were compensated by the very friendly staff.

I was also extremely disappointed that their fitness center is a 10 dollar a day per person fee or 35 per person per week. Nothing on the website says there is a fee, they just boast about the indoor pool and fitness center, very misleading. Same with the billards room.locked unable to use it. Lawn bowling and Boche ball roped off unable to use. The mini golf was mediocre. The water slide is only open from 11am-2pm during the week and from 11-5 on weekends. If you know anything about Florida in the summer, it rains a lot! Everyday. As soon as it would mildly start to sprinkle, the slide would close. I have no idea how that makes any sense. The pool remained open but the hours for the slide were already lacking and the rain coming and going made it worse. The indoor pool would really be useful if the guests could use it while the storms are coming through. There are ZERO indoor activities so we found ourselves very bored (with our 11 year old) here as it rained for a good part of the day for 6 of the 7 days we were there.

For the weekend of July 4th, the activities were a movie by the pool which you couldn't hear because they never turned the poolside music off. They had a live band at one point that was really good. Face painting, for a fee, cotton candy for a fee and a craft for a fee. We really felt nickled and dimed here.

Also be aware, they allow anyone to pay a day pass fee and come here also they host a summer camp so there are a lot of extra people.

Won't be staying here again.

Hello y’all. I spent a week at the sun n fun resort gym while I was visiting Florida and had a great experience. I was amazed at how clean the area is overall. Our girl Karen takes good care of the place and is such a nice employee (give that girl a raise). Thank you for wonderful time. 10/10 recommend

Unfortunately, our stay this time is terrible to say the least. We are repeat guests and probably will not stay again. We came with the kids looking forwards to the mini golf, slide, rock wall, pool and hot tubs as well as the new arcade. Sad to say the mega slide has been broken for 2 weeks and will not be fixed by the weekend. The rock wall has been broken for a long while with no repair date, the kids hot tube is under renovation and are not aloud in the adult tub, the candy in the arcade machine was stale or rotten, the gold has all the same color balls with no score cards or pencils and there are no horse shoes. The kids are terribly disappointed as they remember fun vacations here. My father and I are both exceedingly unhappy.

My family and I always have a great time camping at Sun-n-Fun. Staff has always been friendly. Our kids always have fun riding bikes, swimming, getting Kona Ice when they are on the weekends. Water slide is always a hit! Honestly it’s a great little getaway. If you are looking for quality family time this is the place to go. We are about to stay again soon.haven’t been there since new management. Hopefully we will see an even better Sun-n-Fun
UPDATE. 6/21/21. So we had a great time under the new management. Still very friendly staff. Maybe even more friendly than before Food items changed a bit.gotta say we all definitely miss your old fries.both types Sweet potatoe and Regular. I would switch back for surehonestly I know they are just fries but omg they used to be awesome! Water slide was down and they were waiting on part.stuff happens.they were nice enough to bring in a blow up water slide for the kids! I would love to see the rock wall run again.my kids have been staring at for years not running. I say if you aren’t going use it you all should lose it.
Our site was amazing! Tucked back but not to far back.
Okay one more thing is I would sell water noddles in your gift shop. You would sell a ton. We are business owners ourselves and you all are doing a great job! Thanks again for a fun time! Ps. Side note Golf cart rentals should be available for a complete 24 hour rental if you have a late check out and you picked it up late.just my opinion.but I’m sure you all have your reasons.

This place was great when it was $6 a person. At $12 a person not so much. Yes, all is included now. Kids love the slide and other amenities, but the day we were they they weren’t all open and the ones that were closed at 6: 40. Bar closed at 7: 30. Pool is open until 10: 00. The person at the gate said 1/2 price after 5: 00. Not true! Buy one get one, but why would you do that if everything is closed by 7: 00 (no coolers allowed). It’s too bad. We used to go quite a bit.

Overpriced water attractions, but nice pool. Coll little water slide. Other stuff isn't worth trying because of lines (like ninja warrior course)

Wee Care Christian Academy had a great time today. Pool was great along with the food. Thank you to all the staff for taking good care of us.

The bed room was not even a room it was a lean to of the house and there was a cockroach on the bed also the lighting was terrible

Clean. Great entertainment for kiddos. Reasonably priced admission, food, and drinks. Could easily spend an entire day here with family. Will definitely be back over and over again.

This place is absolutely amazing! Everything you could think of is here. Check out the spa first! What a great place

Extremely family friendly. Lots of fun things to do for the kids but still a quiet place to go and relax

I went to the spa and saw Christianna for a massage. She gave excellent service and was super attentive to my needs.

They advertise all the events available, but when we got there they said they did not have the shuffle board or Boche ball's and the gym cost extra! The place was packed for the holiday weekend, but it was fine during the week. They reserve everything for the permanent guests, not the weekenders.

Lots of activities- something for everyone. The huge water slide is awesome, or just relax in the hot tub. State of the art fitness center for a small daily rate too. I will be back!

The place has potential, but needs all new managment. It was actually better before "care free canada" took over. Hopefully a new new ownership can turn it back around. Until then we won't be back.

Great place to stay with my children. Something for everyone to do. Definitely will be coming back again!

The children enjoyed all the activities provided by the park. Other patrons at the park were like family and were more than willing to help out since we were first time campers.

Great affordable family fun day. Kids 5 and under are free. Had 30 plus people for a 5 yr old birthday party and everyone had fun.

Love the activities here for kids. Wish they would quit turning this into a place full of park models though.
