We stayed here at Lazy Lakes 2 years in a row! Love Love this RV resort! I’m sad it won’t be Lazy Lakes anymore! Yes it did need a little more maintenance. But It still was a little cheaper and nicer then some of the other resorts close to the Key West!

After picking the wrong location by accident and realising the next day, I promptly got in touch with SO to cancel my January booking of 1 night (which I was entitled to as per refund policy) - after no response I sent another email via their contact form online, again, no response. I decided to make a toll call from New Zealand and it went to voicemail so I left a detailed message. I also private messaged on instagram where they are regularly posting photos but completely ignoring me, emailed 3x more and it has now been about a month and I’m without $332 NZD so I’ve had to dispute the charge with AMEX, luckily their customer service is much better. Stay away from booking here as they will take your money and you’ll receive ZERO communication or customer service.
Update: since the company has replied saying that this will be sorted out, I have still not received any reply to my emails or confirmation of booking cancellation/refund so I am not changing this review anytime soon

We stayed 5 days right after Thanksgiving last year. Wasn’t very busy, hook ups were fine. We got to feed some hot dogs to 4 Nerf sharks in the lake. The manager told us they were going to close after New Years to remodel. She expected to be open for the summer. I guess it’s taking a little longer than planned.

We found this campground spontaneously. Robin was so amazing and accommodating that we were only staying 5 days but decided to stay another month. Everyone has been so nice, everyone smiles and is so friendly. The campground is clean, quiet and close to key west and middle keys too. The pool is fabulous and the laundry area is clean and cool because its somewhat open. We would have stayed until May if we could! Definitely will return! My rating is 10 STARS FOR SURE!

Lazy Lakes is a great Keysy campground. Quiet, friendly, and close to Key West. Robin, Robert, and Terry are so accommodating and professional. The pool is rarely crowded and campers always greet you with smile. Can’t wait to get back there!

This is our second year staying here. We spent all of February and most of March and enjoyed our stay this year and are looking forward to next year after all the renovations are done. I will recommend this campground to my friends and family. Thank you to our hosts Robin and Robert. See you in 2023.

It won't be Lazy Lakes much longer, but while we stayed there it was already under the new management and they were/ are fantastic. We stayed there for just about three months and look forward to staying there again. Great RV campground!

We have been coming for 6 years here. Great place, ole way resort. Quiet. Enjoyable. May not have all the frills of big corporate but this place is awesome too stay at. When all the upgrades are done it will be even better.

This is a great no-frills base camp for enjoying the middle and lower a Florida keys.
Pardon the dust - renovations are underway!

This is a great place to stay if what you want is peace and quiet, easy access to the middle Keys and Key West. Yes, it still needs work, but it's in process, just like us. The pool is clean and just my sister and I got to enjoy it, this morning because there was no one else around! There are residents here, but everyone seems friendly and everyone is low key and quiet. There is no TV right now or Wi-Fi and I'm ok with that (but not my hubby). I came to relax and this place is great for that. No frills, great price, old Florida reminiscent. I like it! Great sunrise/sunset views! Once it's spruced up and finished, it will be back to the photos everyone says aren't today. It will be even better. Oh and yes, there are noseeums, that's normal for the Keys, we know cause we lived here for 20 years! The breeze and views of sunrise/set are great! We will check with Lazy Lakes any time we come back to the Keys!

We never actually stayed there in our RV. We moved our RV there to get ready for our retirement trip after selling our home. They had no TV available, the office was always unmanned, both "due to Covid". When we needed to actually stay in our rig, we moved it to the KOA a block away. Although the new campground is more expensive, it is worth it to have TV, fully staffed, and constant vigilance to keep the park spotless.

Laundry was filthy and inadequate. No place to sit, and it's pretty open, so if its raining, as it was when we were there, you have no protection. Staff is very limited, especially when you need them.

Lazy Lake RV Resort Review

I'm not going to sugar coat it. This place is run down. The owners have not put in any significant amount of money to update or improve the place in some years. There are satellite cable wires in open utility boxes and strung along the ground creating trip hazards. Some sites had broken picnic tables. Most everyone there were permanent or semi-permanent residents and most of their rigs had not moved in some time. The staff.well, other than when we first pulled in and a guy happened to be driving by and showed us to our site. I never saw any staff. The office was always open but never anyone there. Nor was there a camp store that I saw. The "lake" was an old abandoned Quarry that had filled with water. Only saw needlefish and nurse sharks in it.

That being said, It did have some redeeming qualities. The sites were not too small and they were flat. Getting in might be tight for longer rigs but they would fit. The pads were gravel. All sites had full hook-ups. The Sewer connections appeared to be new, with nice utility boxes protecting them. Pedestals had both 30 and 50 amps available and at least in our sites, had no issues. At the time we went in late May, there were plenty of spaces open, at least 3 dozen.

Wifi was good, Netflix came in with just a hiccup or 2. Pool and area were clean and we enjoyed using it. There was a clubhouse with a pool table, as well as an outdoor covered seating and tables. A TV was there for guest enjoyment. Bathhouse facilities were old but in decent shape and relatively clean.

The park was secluded and quiet. Our group stayed up way late outside almost every night enjoying the company and refreshments with no complaints. Key west sites were about 25 minutes away.

Perhaps the best amenity was the price. At $50/night off season and double during the winter. This place is one of the more affordable places to stay in the keys.

In short, If you're looking for a true resort experience, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a place to park your rig with full hookups but plan on spending most of your visit not in the park, Lazy lakes will fit the bill and not put a big dent in your wallet.

Far enough off the highway to be peaceful and quiet. Nice lake for canoes and kayaks. Reliable utilities. Roads are due for resurfacing but I was told that's coming soon.
