The service I've received here is the worst I've ever had as a customer within a business. I thought it was possible it'd improve if I stuck w Sun Surf as a regular client, but more often than not, it was proven to be terrible.the staff is rude, unwelcoming, rushes all services, double schedules/doesn't give appointments priority and there is an overall lack of care for the patrons, my pet and overall customer service/pet care and treatment from most of the staff. There is no acknowledgment when you arrive and a condescending attitude from a cpl staff members. When I brought this to staff attention, the response I got was insincere and clear that nothing would be done and they didn't care. This is not the type of place I will be giving me business to or the type of care I want for my pet or myself. I am so happy I finally broke the cycle and have since changed vets. From the very 1st visit with our new vet, it's already been made clear that there IS better service available and I'm glad I switched.

In November, we brought our cat (punkin) in who was suffering a lot by labored breathing. X-rays showed she was full of fluid. We knew at that point she would have to be euthanized based on my discussion with a tech. The female vet (Dr. West i believe) said she was basically drowning and suffering. Then she told me to hold our cat down. I thought she was going to feel around on her. To my astonishment she jabbed a needle into her side to draw out fluid to show me. WTH. We already knew that based on the x-rays showing it clearly. Why was our beloved pet and myself subjected to this kind of 3rd world treatment and pain. I could see if she was asleep or sedated. Why did she do that and have me, not a tech, hold her down and do that. Our cat screamed out and tensed up so much that I can't get that out of my head. We had to euthanize her but my lasting memory of her was causing unnecessary pain that I would never agree to. We had the x-rays that showed all the fluid build up. Your vet is a heartless vet that needs to have much better bedside manners. Who does things like that? Especially in front of a pet parent. I am really upset at the way she was handled. I will never take a pet there.

Always great! Usually on time. Spayed both my puppies and they healed super quick due to the professional and neat stitches.

I usually don’t leave reviews but I’ve been extremely disturbed since my visit today. I have been bringing both of my cats here for the past year and have appreciated Sun Surf’s ability to get me an appointment quickly when an issue arises. The techs are always so nice and gentle whether they’re working the desk or taking my cat from the room and into the back. Their services are reasonably priced and Dr. Jay has always been honest in his professional opinions which I appreciate. However, I needed to go in today and since Dr. Jay was not in, I saw the female doctor whose name I do not remember. She was helpful in our discussion in regard to my cat’s health. However, while I was waiting to pay my invoice in a packed waiting room, she had came out and loudly announced the blood test results for another person’s animal. I understand there is not necessarily HIPAA for animals but it still felt unprofessional. That patient was the same age as my cat and, as she loudly announced, was diagnosed with a UTI. As I’m trying to hold my composure, the doctor (after just leaving a conversation with me in which she suggested putting my cat down due to her condition) makes a comment to me and my cat along the lines of “See (my cat’s name) this cat is also 15 years old and only has a UTI” I felt extremely disrespected and disheartened that she was essentially rubbing it in that someone else’s cat of the same age was in better condition than mine who is deteriorating. As I mentioned before, the waiting room was packed and this obviously rubbed me the wrong way which caused me to lose control of my emotions and it was very humiliating. As she walks by me, she then says something along the lines of “Feel free to call me before we close at 3 and I can fit you in” meaning that if I was ready to put my cat down that day then she’d be willing to do it. This was my first day meeting or seeing this doctor. I still have another cat that I bring to this office and I will make sure she is only seen by Dr. Jay after the awful comment the female one (whose name I cannot remember) made.

A bit late with this review, but none the less I should still share. My experiance with this place was awful. I took in my dog chet to get his teeth taken out and the first vet that saw him was rude and told me “you make money so it shouldnt be a problem” when I asked about the price. My dog’s health got way worse so we took him back in. On the follow up after his surgery, the other vet (aside from dressing like he was homeless) proceeded to tell me he was having issues because of the extractions they did, but my dog didn’t end up getting any extractions. Basically confirming what I had thought which was he didn’t bother to look at the chart. Overall really bad expereince which I guess is why they are so cheap. Overall the staff was awesome but the two vets are horrible. The bald one has a huge ego problem and the other just doesn’t bother reading a chart before telling people what’s wrong with their dog.

I have been taking my pets here for 20+years. Today I had an emergency and they took my dog in and they provided the best care. Thanks to Sun-Surf Animal Hospital, my dog Cooper is doing great I want to thank the staff and the Doctor for a job well done. I recommend this place

My wife and I would like to thank Sun Surf Animal hospital. We truly don't know what we would do without you. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure that you and your fur babies are comfortable, they treat you as family. The girls up front are amazing. The staff is very committed to providing you with the best care possible. We love Dr. Jay he knows his stuf…. He takes his time going over the plan of care for your fur baby and never rushes. We
are very lucky to have found this amazing place many years ago. Our Frenchies get the best care possible… Thank you Sun Surf from the bottom of our hearts.

We have taken our dogs here now twice for their dental cleanings.

Cleanings are fairly priced ($200 per per).

The staff seems to care about your animals!

The only downside, they are always over booked resulting in a super high anxiety atmosphere for your animal. You will be in a tiny waiting room standing with at least 10 other people at a time, so just be prepared to manage your animal.

I stopped in to ask if you were accepting new patients. I was told yes and if my pet was with me I could be seen in 20 minutes.
My dog was in the car with my husband.
We accepted the appointment and couldn't have been happier. Everyone was wonderful, from the front desk staff to the examining room staff. I am sorry I don't recall all their names. But we were truly impressed by all of them. Our attending vet was Dr Jay and tech was Danielle.
Both were fabulous. We are grateful we have a new Florida veterinary practice we are comfortable and confident with.

This is my favorite clinic by far. The staff is AMAZING, the office is always kept clean and looking very nice and they always do the best job on my pets. They treat my pets like family
