Great hidden gem. Discounts often on groupon. If you are going for a walk, plan at least an hour. If you plan to take photos, better plan at least 2 hours to see the whole place. Well maintained. (a little buggy by the tropical birds, so spray some repellant before starting the tour) Check the weather before going, they have to close if there is lightning (the day we visited, they only closed for 15 minutes)

I loved going to this place! Beautiful plants and nature. The vibe was very calming and you almost forget you’re in a city

My only complaint would be, being a bird owner myself the birds didn’t have many Interactive toys and items in their cage to stimulate them like birds are suppose to have. But they were sweet and enjoyed talking to us

I highly recommend this place!

A beautiful retreat in the middle of the city. These historic gardens are something to behold, the lush gardens provide wonderful shade that allow for an enjoyable time- even in Florida's hot summers.

Beautiful place to look at plants and birds. My boyfriend and I had a picnic in open area surrounded by palm trees. Only $12 per adult. Great place to visit!

I only wish that it was bigger to explore so I could wander for hours, but it was still impressive for the space! Lots of spots for photo opportunities and an impressive collection of old growth plants that make you feel like ant while you walk under them

Absolutely beautiful. Im not a plant/garden person. But the beauty, and variety is awesome. They have parrots too! As a parrot owner I loved interacting with the birds!

We spent a week in the Clearwater Beach area and while the whole trip was amazing, our visit to the Sunken Gardens was a highlight and the best way to end our vacation. Make sure you have a laugh with Mindy the Cockatoo!

Beautiful gardens in town. The staff were helpful and friendly at the front desk. I am glad they reciprocate with my garden membership in Arizona.

Great place for a fun family trip. Maybe a little picnic after taking some pictures. They also have a cute little monarch butterfly area for the caterpillars. A definite must when visiting Florida

I have been living in the Tampa Bay area since I was 2 years old. I was aware of the garden's existence but never got around to visiting until now and am so glad I did. The staff was very pleasant and the garden was well kept. It is such a peaceful place. I could just sit there all day admiring all of the colorful and exotic flowers and plants. As well as taking in the sounds from the cascading waterfuls and watching the birds, flamingos, turtles and fish go about their day in paradise. I will make it a point to come back soon!

If you need somewhere to go to get out of your head and get over the day to day cares, this is a great spot. Everything is beautiful and the staff is friendly. You can go alone or with company, either way you'll love it.

Absolutely gorgeous! So many beautiful plants to see. Plus, a big koi pond, many exotic birds, and a flamboyance of flamingos!

My friend and I were harassed by a worker here because we were taking pictures, although there were tons of people around taking pictures as well. Not sure why we were told we were going to be kicked out because we were in dresses taking pictures with our IPHONES. It was very disrespectful and I’m truly disappointed how rude the man was to us, I asked for his name and he walked away and went into the employees office.

This place was well worth the visit. So beautiful. Plus there was a wedding going on which made it even a better experience. Highly recommended. My teenage daughter even enjoyed this gem of a stop.

I thought the gardens itself was pretty and enjoyed walking around, but a lot of the koi in the koi pond have fin rot and rapidly deteriorating fins. A few of the fish were struggling to swim around. This can be treated for with medicine found online or in most pet stores so it’s sad to see most of the fish suffering with this condition.

This 100-year-old garden has some of the oldest tropical plants in the state, flamingos, and cascading waterfalls. It’s almost like being in a fairy tale with over 50,000 plants and flowers packed into four acres of land.

Wave hello to the flamingos and practice standing on one leg, stop and smell the flowers, attend hands-on workshops on gardening, and learn how to make succulent wreaths. The park focuses on teaching anyone willing to learn all about tropical plants and plant care. Your child might even be inspired to flex their green thumb back at home after this visit!
