Great place, my 12 year old doodle had acl surgery there with no issues. The doctor explained everything in detail and gave his cell phone number to text and send pictures after the surgery.

Great surgeon, but once they have your money and you're down the road they seem to not care about you one bit. We needed medical records/xrays taken by them. We no longer live in FL but needed records for new vet/surgeon since Pup is having issue with hardware Sunset installed (No fault on them). They've completely ignored us
after multiple calls and emails. (Spent over 5k with them, referred friends to them, but apparantly that wasnt enough for help in the future)

I was absolutely devastated when my 11 years old chihuahua torn her ACL and I was told she would need a surgery. Our vet suggested to see Dr. Malnati and I am so happy we followed her advice!
Dr. Malnati is one of the vets who really cares! I walked in with my pup in tears on the day of surgery ready to cancel any second. He was very patient with us and explained every step of the process. He was so gentle with little Mia that I agreed to the surgery although he was not pushing at all and left the decision up to us of course.
The surgery went super well and after 1 week Mia was already trying to run around. She is 90% healed after only 3 weeks of her surgery and we are super happy we chose Sunset Vet Surgery. Dr. Malnati provided us with his phone number and told us we could ask him any questions at any time.
Thank you Dr. Malnati from little Mia and us

One afternoon our two (twin) Biewer Terriers were barking to go outside. I opened the door and they dashed out across the patio and out the doggie door at same time. Emma (on right, with one ear always up) came back in right away, and fell over. She couldn't walk well. I rushed her to their Primary Vet a mile away. They said she tore her CCL. They recommended surgery and told us their "rotating surgeon would call us to set an appointment).
When I got home I contacted a friend that is a vet out of our area. She immediately recommended Dr. Malnati and we made an appointment for him to exam her. He 100% explained everything to us about ESLL Surgery which he recommended. He was very knowledgeable, compassionate, and personable. We booked the surgery with him right away. The day I brought her in I was trying to talk myself out of it. I was so scared for her.

A few hours later Dr. Malnati called us and told us she did great and was in recovery, and we could pick her up at 4: 00.
He provided us with his personal cell phone number in case we had any questions. I had one for him that weekend, left him a message and he called back within minutes.

The day after surgery, the cast came off. Every day I say to her "You are doing better today than yesterday, and tomorrow you'll do better than today. " And every day we would see improvement.

It has now been 8 weeks and she is back to herself, her instincts are to run full speed all the time so I need to slow her down.

Dr. Manati is an amazing surgeon, I loved talking to him during each follow visit. His entire staff is great.

Emma had her final scheduled check up last week.
He loves what he does, and it beams though him.

Should you pup ever need surgery, dont hesitate, Dr. Malnati is the best!

My cat all of a sudden started limping and it would not go away. He would start to sprint and his leg would give out. My vet said he probably needed surgery. I was referred to Sunset Vet and there I was told he needed surgery because he had a pretty bad luxating patella. I decided to get the surgery for my cat, fully expecting the worse. I was so scared! Surgery went great. Next day his stitches were removed. He healed spectacularly well! I was very happy and surprised with the results. He babied the leg, but he was back to being his normal self within a few days and was walking normally within weeks! He is sooo much stronger (I think even more so than he was before the limping started) and runs, rather sprints throughout the house now. No regrets, money well spent. Will probably get his other knee fixed next year before that one becomes an issue.

This one is a long time coming. About 6 months ago, my Boston Terrier went to see Dr. Malnati. Anything short of incredible would be an understatement! The surgery was a complete success which - for this Boston who loves fetch above all - was life changing. Sometimes things happen to our loved ones, but you can rest assured that your money spent with Dr. Malnati is worth 10,000% of every penny. I added a video of Blue about 6 months later running in the dog park loving life again.

Gary, my 1y/o Boston Terrier, had a genetic condition where both hind leg knee caps were dislocating. He couldn't run much without a knee dislocating. Sad, because he couldn't play much with the other dogs.

Dr. Malnati fixed up both legs at once. Gary now runs a full speed with no issues. He's happier than ever, and I am too.

Dr. Malnati is a very kind and gentle man who loves dogs. And dogs love him too!

Highly recommended.

I just want to thank Dr. Malnati and his great staff at Sunset Veterinary Surgery for taking such amazing care of my Ava. This was her second TPLO surgery the first one with another local surgeon did not go well.
Ava was so relaxed around Dr. Malnati and this leg has healed twice as fast. Ava is a 70 lb.blue Pitbull and a big girl, I just can't get over how well she is doing 10 days later.

Our chihuahua suffered serious damage to his ccl 2.5 months ago and required surgery. Although hesitant to have it done, Dr. Malnati patiently and thoroughly explained the procedure, putting us at ease. We called several facilities, similarly rated, but the empathy and patience of his front desk staff fielding calls made the decision easy. Oskar was given a clean bill of health this morning. He’s back to his normal self - jumping and running, enjoying his life - thanks to Dr Malnati and his extraordinary staff. Highly recommend without hesitation!

Keyno tore his right ACL and was suffering. He is built like a tank and this knee issue was ruining his quality of life. Dr. Malnati and his staff took great care of not only Keyno but of us as well.

The results of the Dr. Malnati's surgery are fantastic, After the 8 week recovery period, Keyno was probably back to 90% of his old pre-injury self. Now after about 12 weeks, Keyno walks without any sign of a limp and is in great spirits. Although Keyno was 8 years old when we elected to have the surgery. I couldn't allow him to live his remaining years with this knee injury. I'm so happy that we got the surgery and had Dr. Malnati and his staff care for Keyno. I highly recommend Sunset Veterinary Surgery!

Brought your beautiful 6 yr old Maltese Bitsy for routine surgery. Dr gave us our dog back in respiratory distress and told us to take her to ER. He ruptured her trachea! He killed our dog! Do not go here!

We are so happy with Dr. Malnati and the team at Sunset Veterinary Surgery. Our Cavachon is back to her hyperactive activities after having ACL repair surgery. The attention and care provided was the best. Fully recommended for your pet's orthopedic issues.
