Super 8 by Wyndham Sarasota Near Siesta Key

I was over charge and the man at the desk was very rude and made excuses when I ask him abt it

It was awful the TV sucked the door knob didn't work and they gave us the wrong room number
They gave us a occupied room

This place was the most awful hotel. Not only did the owner answer his hotel door in boxer shorts when I came at ten, he upped the price and said he was then sold out because he thought I was paying cash. Once I paid cash the room had a roach in the bathroom! I took a picture and showed him and he said they are working on it. Also no hot water in room! Against code

My room has bed bugs, my husband was complaining about getting bit up all night and I was hesitant because he has sensitive skin but when I woke up early this morning I find two of them crawling under the pillows. Someone had been living in the room apparently before me and the person that cleaned it didn't even touch the floors, I guess they figured since the flooring was dark they didn't have to mop it.

They cancelled my reservation the same day i was about to check in. The manager lied and told me they didnt have any rooms and just told me to leave. We had to leave town becuase we could’nt afford any expensive room nearby, we had already prepaid everything. How i know the manager lied? Well the parking lot was full of cars…. Yeah and he havent paid me back my money. Do not trust this Guy and make sure You go somewhere else.

Yoiks. This place is beat. My room smelled like smoke and I was sandwiched between two other guests who appeared to be living there and yelling/fighting all night. There were poorly patched walls, the TV didn’t work, the bed was uncomfortable, and I feared that I would get bed bugs. Run away unless you’re looking for a place where you can buy some stolen goods from a van in the parking lot.

This place has a lot of deferred maintenance. The rooms are not cleaned properly, floors are dirty, mold/mildew around tub, dusty wall art, dirty lamp shades etc. House keeping is short staffed and not to blame. The franchise owners are not customer oriented nor service minded. The pool was clean, however and the continental breakfast nice.

Roaches! Room felt and looked as though it wasn't touched in months! Its looked like it was a room (the owners family) lived in judging by the large fridge that was in the room as.well as the larger sink. Oy was awful!

Internet doesn't work in spite of what the staff claims. Spent an hour walking back and forth to the office in the heat.very frustrating

Not the cleanest place and definitely not a desirable location. Foot draggers strut up and down 41 in front. Rooms are dated and staff has been known to take advantage of people down on their luck.

Do yourself a favor and spend more money and stay in a nicer place. I’ve stayed in Super 8’s across the country. This wasn’t the worst but it definitely illustrates why Super 8’s have a bad reputation. Obviously not in the best part of town. It’s not close to anything but empty shopping centers. They say newly renovated but it’s the same grimy rusty fixtures and furniture. Lampshades were stained and torn. Our room was dirty. The family that owns the place is apathetic and sloppy. The man who checked us in looked like he had rolled out of bed, and indeed there was a comforter in the chair he was sitting in. The lobby is treated as a living room by the owners. Their personal belongings are on the furniture and it’s not very clean.

When we went in the room, besides the bet being made we didn’t think it had been cleaned. The floor was sandy and sticky. The surfaces had crumbs on them. The bathroom counter had coffee packets opened on it. We pulled down the sheets to check the bed and saw a huge stain on the sheet right by the pillows. We called the owner in and showed the woman owner the stains on the bedsheets, etc.and she said it was fine and didn’t offer to get the sheets changed. She said the cleaning person was new and would come back. The cleaning lady was nice but that doesn’t explain the grime in other places. The fridge was filthy as was the microwave. The lamps didn’t all work. We didn’t dare sit in the chairS as they had stains. We didn’t get a full set of towels (washcloth, floor towel, hand towels, etc.) after asking several times we only got two bath towels. No soap or shampoo. No ice bucket because they use them to catch the condensation from the ac units. We didn’t want to stay after seeing how unclean the room was and after getting dismissed by the owner. The shower head was gross and had mildew and grime all on it. Unfortunately everything else was booked and like I said we have stayed in worse…. So it was doable for one night.

In the morning we loaded our car before going to get breakfast and witnessed a man sitting outside cutting his toe and hand nails. When he saw we were going inside for the breakfast he went in the office to set out the bread and waffles WITH the nail clipper in his hand. Totally gross. He didn’t clean or wash his hands. The butter and cream cheese he laid out had not been refrigerated so we didn’t feel it was safe to eat. He took out a “sleeve” of frozen waffles and just laid it ontop the counter then left the office to resume cutting his nails. That plus two loaves of bread (one which he opened with the nail clippers in his hand), stale cereal and Sunny-D was the “breakfast. ” We felt only the frozen waffles he hadn’t touched was safe. But we had to go outside and find him to ask for syrup and he just handed us the big counter from under the cabinet. Another guest came in and took the rest of the waffles and we were told there was no more.

It was quiet. The ac and hot water did work. But it was gross, the owners didn’t care and it wasn’t a convenient location.

We went to Motel 8 after going to several other places and we liked it looks clean and we decided to stay there for 3 weeks and we talked to the person in the office and he said that there was no problem and that they would try to put us in the same room and every 7 days we would only have to say that we continue for one more week.yesterday when I went to the office without prior notice or anything they told me that we no longer have the room and that we have to leave.that they CANNOT have control of online reservations.please, where has something like this been seen.short story we had to look for another hotel because they prefer new people than those who have been there for weeks.and the reason for staying in that place is because we are buying a house and we are waiting for all the paperwork to be done. I do not recommend that Motel because a manager says one thing and his wife arrives and she says something else. NO good customer service

The room was not clean! It was filthy! Their was, what looked like, fecies on the floor and on the cord of the blo dryer! I kept calling front desk and their was no answer and noons was at front desk. The front office was locked,! I calledy diamond member Wyndham rewards customer service team and asked that they either clean my room properly or move my room. They refused both options! I am just completely disappointed and I feel that I was brushed off and not taken seriously by Wyndham! I have earned a lot of points and I've spent an insane amount of money on my rooms! Some days I pOd up to $275! This is also just unsanitary and also a health concern! I could have caught c- diff or who knows! This is absolutely unacceptable! The next morning, my Godother who had stayed the night and checked in at the office the night before left shen I wD getting ready to shower and she was supposed to call when she was close. She didn't call or check in at office.when I came out of the shower she was in the room with my cousin and a friend of theirs, so the lady and her husband came to my door screaming that they were going call the cops and
Noone heard each other because of their screaming, they kept my 109$ deposit and I have now switched to choice rewards and am now staying at the Holiday inn and was staying at the quality inn! Both rooms were clean and the employees have been very
nice,

The front desk lady was very rude insulting the customers in the middle of the parking lot; in addition, some things in the room were dirty

Best breakfast and personnel bar none in all of Sarasota forget high dollar brand name hotel. Do yourself a favor stay here!
