Sushi Garage Miami Beach reviews
19 I wish I can place a 0 star for this restaurant. I have placed a pick up order from this restaurant and it gave me 30 minutes pick up time and once I got to the restaurant I found it closed and they would open later. I have tried to cancel the order online but I couldn't and the only way to do is to contact the restaurant through the available phone number online.
I called the restaurant and I explained to the person the issue of how come you receive the order and having the time to pick up while you are closed, and I also asked him to cancel the order because this is not right. First the person was rude telling me that's not his problem if I ordered online and he dies not have control over that and he also refused to cancel the order because he claimed he is not in the restaurant and he told me that the food will still be made although am not picking up the food which means they had charged me and that's they all care about.
I wonder why you are putting a personal contact number as a restaurant contact number if you can not take responsibility and be there for issues like this. I found it weird on how he responded on how he does not care and he end up hanging up the phone on me, if you can not manage a restaurant and its too much for you, you should definitely leave it for someone else who qualifies.
The food is really good! The happy hour is awesome! The happy hour menu goes from 4 to 10 dollars. We order sushi, Korean pork tacos, avocado tempura, Korean leaf tacos, miso soup, Salmon Avocado Roll, Tako Sushi, Crispy Avocado Rice, Crispy Gyoza and everything was delicious! It is necessary to make reservation because always is full! The deserts are also really good!
The food was amazing, so was te service. It might take a while to get a table even though you did make a reservation, but overall, great place.
Insanely insanely expensive and overpriced. More than fancy high end sushi places for this casual neighborhood spot.
Marginal sushi at best, just was not good. Fish was a bit fishy and mushy. Rolls were small and looked like I made them at home.
Friendly service.
The thing is this the staff hardworking they cool the administration not I heard when I stand up and went to the restroom one of the employers literally crying because I think was the manager or the owner say something to her sooo if you ask me food was good but the whole environment is toxic wish luck for the employees who leave this awful environment.
I absolutely love this place it is so easy and fun and the food is great. The waitress was super friendly and cute and so was the rest of the staff. The food was amazing
The sushi’s are OK nothing special and quite expensive. What bothered me most was seeing sushi men with long hair and beard. This is totally unacceptable. One may say the place is far from a traditional Japanese sushi restaurant, I dont care the only fusion you will get is of your food with their hair.
Great looking place. For early dinner, the hostess (heavy set with long wavy bleached blond hair) refused us one of the 4 booths in the back, 2 of which stayed empty even after we left on a stormy night. (Tip - don't engage the bus boys unless fluent in Spanish.) From the HH menu, we tried the Cali roll; that wasn't sushi rice but a small grain variety and stale. We decided to give rolls another try but the spicy tuna roll, made from the same offending rice, was stuffed with non-tuna dyed a bizarre red. Might we have done better grabbing a few boxes from Publix down the road? Fresh Market across the street? I'll leave it there.
One of the worst sushi experiences. Everything was over cooked. Fish slices poorly done and more. I have had better sushi for 10$.
Shape up….
HAPPY HOUR FROM 5: 30 pm to 8 pm every day. The sushi is just good and had the scallop leaf taco which was a different flavor for my palate!
I’m a local. This is not the first time I had this problem at Sushi Garage. Front desk blonde Eastern Europe lady had a huge attitude. Stopped by on the earlier side 7ish. Asked for a table for 2. Forget about it. The restaurant was empty but she said without a reservation I’m out of luck. Then she said I could have a outdoor table for 30 minutes…. I told her lots of sushi restaurants in MB to choose from bye… anyway the food is ok. The happy hour is half price and half portions so no bargain.
After a year hiatus from Miami, I come home to the best happy hour in Coconut Grove! We have been here twice for happy hour and each time did not disappoint. We had the chili shrimp dumplings, the 1/2 hamachi serriole, the shrimp tempura tacos and the scallop leaf taco. ALL WERE DELICIOUS. Also the Yalu soba noodles were fantastic, highly recommended. The best part are the drinks I had the Youzu Love and my fiancée had the Fat Cucumber. Excellent, refreshing and half off! Go for a walk around the Grove and make it here before 8pm. You won’t be disappointed:
Great happy hour. Aaron makes the best cocktails. He had great suggestions and really knows the menu. Excellent tasty food and quick friendly service.
Local spot! Neighborhood type vibe with yummy sushi and an amazing happy hour—Def a Sunset Harbor staple! Shout out to Aaron, Frank and Danny for amazing customer service
Amazing happy hour. Delicious food. Good service. Just be aware that they are charging $2 each for spicy mayo and hot sauce because they are housemade…
Second time there and not going back. Front desk staff has a bit of attitude, but that aside, the sushi was tasteless. Like bad. We had the tuna, salmon, eel and rainbow roll. Tasteless. I get better sushi from my local supermarket. There are much better places in South Beach to go to.
Thieves. My bill was $95 and charge on my bank account was $163. I am trying to get a refund for couple of months. Worst experience ever.
Reservation. It respected. Waited 50 minutes with a party of 8 to be seated. Chaos and disorganized. Lame excuses and inattentive.
I have been going to this restaurant since they opened, but last night we had an unpleasant experience at the end with the server, and the Manager was horrible and unprofessional! We went there with friends and two kids to have a nice time on a Friday evening. We were there for about an hour and wanted to order an additional item from the menu, and a drink, but she said "NO" and that we had pay now and brought the bill right away because there were other people waiting for the table. The server should have come with more time to tell tell us that we were approaching the time limit for the table, and to don't treated us that way. Right away, the Manager came aggressived to tell us, we must leave now. One of my friends tried to explain we didn't know about the 1 hour and 15minutes policy and telling him the server had not customer service skills, but the Manager instead of apologize for the inconvenience, he raised the voice and said if we don't like their policy, we don't have to come back (we didn't know the time when seating inside, it is the same policy as seating outside) I will tell my neighbors in Sunset Harbour and friends my experience for never go there anymore. This has happened to few people I know, but never thought it will be so rude the way the restaurant staff managed the situation.
