Sweet Mama's Restaurant reviews
16 Had a party of 5 for brunch. Ordered turkey bacon as a substitute to regular bacon. Server didn’t mention it was a $2.99 up charge, nor is it on the menu.
They also nickled and dimed for cream cheese for the bagel.wont be returning without a load of cash…
Just ordered the bacon and egg breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. It came with home fries that were hot and seasoned the way I like it. I literally smashed EVERYTHING on the plate. LOL I will be ordering again. =)
It’s gone downhill since new management. I’m surprised there’s still so many good reviews. Who in there right mind thinks it’s okay to ruin breakfast is beyond me and I hope they get it together.
Amazing homemade breakfast of any kind. Highly recommend for anything on the menu especially the pecan pancakes!
I’ve been twice for breakfast and have thoroughly enjoyed the down home food and atmosphere + the friendly service. This gem is a nice change of pace in the Nona community.
Not busy and server has not come to our table in over 20 minutes. Horrible service. Second time coming here and service was slow last time. Thought it was just an off day. Never coming back here
We moved here more than a year ago and have been searching for a great diner like back home. This has the right look and feel, but they just can’t get the food right. Have been there at least 6 times for breakfast. Unfortunately, we gave up on the place because the food was never good. There is an excellent place in college park though. Worth the drive.
Waited almost 45 minutes for a lox and bagel at this establishment that we have been going to for many many years. It is a shame that such a anchor, restaurant has quickly declined
If you want to wait 45 minutes for eggs then come on in. Will not be back. Came in with ample time for a birthday breakfast for my daughter and we were both late with the unnecessary and unapologetic wait. Food was brought out one at a time with minutes wait in between. There was one table when we walked in at 7: 30am, others came after and I’m sitting here watching them get their breakfast before us after being seated at least 10-20 mins after. Upwards $50 with tip and the ingredients all tasted old. Couldn’t eat. We all collectively agreed never to return. Don’t waste your time or money! Take the drive elsewhere. Few years back was great
The food has changed over time. It's not as good as it once was. My Eggs Benedict was almost hard. (I've tried a couple of times to get running yolks. This time, I even mentioned it when I ordered. But alas no.) Someone ordered 2-2-2 breakfast, and part of it didn't show up. The atmosphere is nice, the staff friendly, but the food lacks.
I like their pancakes and french toast. In my most recent visit, I had the Banana Foster French Toast and I savored every bite. One of my friends had an Omlette with Hash Browns. When I asked him about it, he said "excellent. "
I was looking over the lunch menu at panini sandwiches. I asked the waitress on her favorite and she said: " Chicken Pesto Panini. " I will try that there in the future.
UPDATE;
I went back recently and was in the mood for the Chicken Pesto Panini for brunch. I savored every bite as my taste buds went crazy with the combination of the carved chicken, the pesto, the tomato and- I believe- spinach. Oh my goodness!
This restaurant has a very cute homey vibe. The food was delicious, especially the shrimp and grits and the pancakes! And our server Roxy was so friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend!
Food was cold
Service was poor
Had to wait 35-40min for our food
Forgot to bring all of our food to the table
Had to remind server for syrup and coffee that had been ordered
I stopped going here since a waitress discriminated my son by following him outside because he forgot to tip her.
Sweet Mamas has been a staple in my family’s life since they first opened. Since the change of ownership, the service and food had been a little rocky. BUT I am here to tell you that this morning, we had a great experience. The food was just as good as with the old owners, and the service was very quick and friendly. I recommend anyone who gave up on them, give them another try. We will continue to enjoy our breakfast there!
