Friendly, knowledgeable, and safe. This is my go-to range in the SRQ area after having a horrible experience at one of the other local spots.

I am a certified gunsmith and FFL licensed dealer BP CUSTOM FIREARMS LLC. This is the place I go to do my testing on my custom builds, and when I want to go for my personal time to enjoy the range myself, the staff is always great, very friendly, and helpful.

Ethan took care of us, he was very kind and respectful; he also showed us how to use the Beretta step by step.
Highly recommend place

Everyone at Take Aim that my wife and I encountered yesterday when we took our class was knowledgable, amicable, and professional. Mike is a major standout, though. When he’s your instructor, you come to know very quickly that you are in the hands of a highly experienced and credentialed no-nonsense expert and deeply caring bad*ss that is 100% on your side. Julie is no less invested or impressive and certainly served as a great inspiration to us. In other words, “My instructors are better than your instructors. ”

Great shop, great range, great staff. Did my CCW class here and have stuck with them ever since.

Every time I come here the employees are so helpful. If they don’t have a product they help you find it, even if it means they don’t make the sale. Now that’s good business. If you’re looking for a laid back range with great employees this is the place to go

Special thanks to the two employees who helped me diagnose an issue I had yesterday while in the range. They were happy to help. I appreciate it very much.

I want to be treated as I would treat other’s and I felt completely at ease and my total experience was extremely excellent.

Great low stress place to work your skills, could be a little bit brighter, but hey, bullets fire in the dark too!

I have been going to Take Aim for over 20 years!
From the owners to the entire staff always are their to help!
Any Gun issues are handled no problem.
Most of the staff have been there for 10 years plus.
The training classes are the best with real world experience and no details are missed.
Mike and his team are always positive and encourage everyone to be better at all levels.
This is something you
Can’t get from a regional Gun store staff.
It’s important if you are serious and want to be the best you can be.

I have been going to this range for about five years. The range is good, well ventilated and has solid concrete blocks between the shooting lanes for safety. The staff is friendly and have been there a while, so they are knowledgeable, and always willing to talk about guns and offer opinions about what gun or ammo might be right for you. They also have a very good instructor, and I have brought 3 or 4 people in for instruction. I also have taken instruction from him myself. He is patient and good with people.

Had time to practice my skill set, and went to Take Aim Gun store and indoor range. I went with my son and a lad who has been a friend of the family for many years.
The Store has a great selection of guns, hats, shirts, accessories, and a friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff. The store also had an indoor range, and has a staff of NRA certified instructor's to teach all aspects of ownership of a fire arm. Pete, a certified trainer was conducting a class of 12 student's who have chosen to learn more about protecting their family, as well as themselves in critical situations. A Class room training lasts about 3 hrs, and then each student has the opportunity to actually fire a weapon, and should they pass the classroom, and range sessions, may qualify to apply for a carry permit.
Pete is an excellent instruction, and is one of the best training instructor's I have had!
They do have classes on Saturday's, and some evening classes also.
Take Aim Gun Range is located off HWY 301 just South of University. It's really a nice place to visit, and ask questions. You do have to be a member in order to use the range; a cost of about $ 14.00.

I took the CCW class with Mike and learned a lot. Mike knows his stuff and ensures that all the not-dumb questions are answered.:)

If you see a review by Keith Carver, I have some context on his complaint. His girlfriend was in the class with me and he wanted to sit on the first hour of the class—without paying. Mike told him he could get what he paid for, and asked him to leave.

For the price, I was satisfied with the class and the experience.

Two things to know about the class:
#1 It can run long. It started at 10 and we didn’t wrap until about 2: 30. So just plan on it taking a while.

#2 You can pay for the class ahead of time, but you’re also required to get a range membership ($12) on top of the class. Not a huge deal, but it would have been helpful to know upfront.

Not the worst place in town, not the best, kind of dusty and sparse in there, but they may have what you’re looking for. The trainer guy Mike is interesting, kind “like this is the way, everyone else doesn’t know what they are talking about” kind of guy. Which is fine but we didn’t feel we could speak up in the class (that was ages ago, maybe he’s calmed down)

I first took mikes concealed class about 15 years ago. Since then he has become one of my best friends and mentors. I would send anyone I know looking for help to him and I would be confident they were getting the best knowledge available. I trust him with my life and the lives of my loved ones.

I had the pleasure of taking my first class with Mike and let me tell you, what an amazing experience! He is extremely knowledageble, kind, patient, and funny.but completely serious when he needs to be. This was my first gun class and first time shooting and I can't wait to go again! I would 10/10 recommend Take Aim Gun Range to friends, family, and complete strangers!

I took the conceal carry class and Mike was awesome! His mentoring and knowledge has helped me become the shooter I am today and would happily recommend him to anyone in need of an education on firearms and safety!

Exceeded all expectations

We had to take the dreaded class in MA to get our license and nearly died from boredom and old age. Mike’s class not only kept us awake, but made it super fun and educational. No bs just straight up “what’s up”. We felt honored and privileged to be taught by a Mike. Took his basic defense class today and are blown away by how much we learned in 6 hours. Can’t wait for the next one!
