Take MAR, St. Petersburg FL

I went to a Take MAR impact day and I LOVED it. The trip was originally meant to be to a gorgeous tropical island with turquoise blue water and white sand (for trash cleanup), but we had to pivot at the last minute due to red tide. We picked up trash along a local trail instead, and guess what? The experience was still both moving and invigorating even though we weren't on a tropical island. I credit that to Take Mar's ability to connect humans to the environment, to each other, and to themselves through their impact days-no matter where the location ends up being. Maintaining the trail I use almost daily made me feel a sense of stewardship and shared responsibility; now, when I ride my bike down the trail, I look for anything out of place that I might be able to adjust. I feel more like an active participant in the environmental health of my community, rather than a helpless bystander. I look forward to Take Mar's future events and applaud the work they're doing to demonstrate the connection between human health and environmental health.

So grateful for Take MAR. Thank you for creating this community to inspire, gather wonderful people, teach/learn and make a difference in the process.
