I was in a little different situation than most - I’m a military helicopter pilot and have my Commercial - Rotary pilot certificate. I had never flown airplanes before and wanted to add Private Pilot Airplane privileges to my license. Paul, the owner, worked with me to make sure my unique situation was handled properly and that I met all the requirements at the lowest possible out of pocket cost to me.
This is a small part 61 flight school, and in my opinion it’s better and more flexible than those big “well known” flight schools like ATP and American Flyers. I was given quotes by both ATP, American Flyers, and one other flight school in Boca to get my Private, and they were double the cost. Their excuse for that large cost difference is that “but we’re well known and it looks better to have gotten your rating from a big name flight school like us” … DO NOT fall for that. A private pilots license is the same regardless of where you get it.
The instructors here at Take Flight will make sure you’re more than ready for your test and checkride. And after you’re done with your training, the airplanes can be rented at a very reasonable and competitively low rate.
Had a great experience here. Paul is a veteran and knows his stuff. I finished my Private Pilot License in under two months, working full-time. Dan was also amazing. So glad that I went to TakeFlight where I got real teaching and mentorship for a life of flying, rather than the nearby schools. Thank you!

My husband got his private pilot license 3 years ago at this school. Everything was really nice and easy to achieve.
Avoid this place! Its the most unprofessional flight school I've ever dealt with. Don't dare email or call, or the owner, Paul, will reply with short, rude comments. There are plenty of polite, professional schools in the area. Seriously, avoid this place like the plague!
Attempted to get in contact for a week always make it seem like they are busy by texting with email address and when contact via email you don’t get reply, terrible customer service which is indication of how they are All other flight schools around them replies ASAP with full details. No wonder they are cheap!
The instruction at Takeflight is truly top-notch and the Skycatcher I trained in to get my private pilot certificate was a blast to fly. Moreover, the flexibility and affordability of training at Takeflight is unparalleled in my experience.
