Tampa Bay Grand Prix reviews
19Great place for kids 48" or taller.carts are surprisingly quick.plenty of room to hang out and chill.cheapest prices in town.and if you by the 2 for 3 deal you can save the races you dont use on your account for whenever you want.awesome place
Indoor track off the beaten path. The course is small and tight to race. Pricey for what they offer but still fun. I prefer a larger track and would not return to this location.
Had a great time, this company needs to understand if there wasn't any customer they would not have a company so to say that a litte courtesy would not hurt the business.
They want all your personal information just to ride a go kart. Name address phone number e mail. It’s a go kart not an employment application. A drivers license should be more then enough. Don’t waste your time unless you wanna give out all your personal information.
Terrible experience. Cant make reservation day of on-line or phone, drove 25 minutes, walked in Saturday night, completely empty except one small group on the track, was told 40 min wait, then told had to wait 30 min between each of 3 races bought. Girl at counter tonight (9/18) not friendly, smiled said bye. Went down the street to Pro Karting, had a blast.
Found this place while vacationing in Florida! My son wanted to spend his 10th birthday here. He had a great time, with super fast Gokarts. The wait was a little long for a Monday (around lunch time), but we enjoyed it. He liked the detail of Ayrton Senna’s and Michael Schumacher’s race suits there!
Aggressive rude racers staff was nice at desk
But staff on track needs to be watching and do more my teenage son was rear-ended and sore for several days after
Raced there 3 times with my wife and had fun and it was her first time.
The instructors where very nice and knowledgeable.
My girlfriend and I decided to take advantage of the Buy 2, Get 1 Race Free special last Thursday. This was our first but unfortunately also our last time visiting. Pricing seemed a little high for go-karts as we figured it was roughly $1 per lap each. There was also a mandatory $6 charge per person for an annual "Gran Prix Racing License" which was nothing more than a reloadable gift card — more on this later.
We arrived around 2pm and we were told that there would be a 2 hour wait. It didn't seem like there were very many racers there but we decided to walk around the facility and play a game of pool. This game only accepts quarters so we asked the nice associate at the counter to make change for a dollar but unfortunately they were completely out of quarters. Bummer. We discovered the concessions counter but there was only a handful of items available. Definitely no pizza or fries. We opted for a candy bar and a hot pretzel.
Finally, our names were called and we were excited to jump in a kart!
Initially, we were expecting some type of instruction considering there were multiple signs and flags to pay attention to. We also thought that this was where the $6 "Racing License" fee would be applied. However, there was no instruction and we simply boarded our karts. We were required to wear helmets which were provided to us and each kart had a buckle restraint system to keep us in our seat. However, not once did a ride operator check our helmet or seatbelt restraints. This was actually quite concerning since the karts are advertised to run up to 50mph!
The first and second race went very well and I managed to post some quick times on the board. It was nice to see our lap times on the large projection board near the start/finish line. There were a few good places to pass slower drivers around the track but at times there would be a line of four or five karts stuck behind a slower driver. The flagman would waive the "move over" flag (blue flag with an orange stripe) at the slow driver but because there was no instruction prior to the race she had no idea what the flag actually meant!
Up until our 3rd race we were enjoying ourselves. For the first two races we boarded the karts on the left but for the final FREE race we were told to board the karts on the right. These karts were not in very good condition and had a list of issues once we got out onto the track. There were even exposed wires behind the steering wheel. Once the final race began it was apparent that there was a major problem with both our karts. My girlfriend's kart was extremely slow and rattled uncontrollably and my kart would hesitate to accelerate at least 2-3 seconds each time I stepped on the gas. At one point my kart completely stalled and I put my hands up to notify the flagman that there was a major problem with my kart. After a minute or two arguing with him he eventually started the race again and I was left to deal with it on my own. After the race ended we were both quite upset and felt like we were shorted on the free race. I spoke with one of the ride operators and notified him that both kart #19 and #20 had multiple issues. He said that it had something to do with us pressing the gas and the brake at the same time, however this was our 3rd race and we had not experienced that issue before!
Our overall experience was not very good.
We would not recommend to a friend or family member.
Maybe let the teenagers have their own race like you do the juniors! My husband and I were bumped all over the place. They're race carts not bumper carts!
We did have a lot of fun though! The carts are legit
What a fun place for kids! We had several bday parties here and come any time for quick races. Package buy 2 get 1 free race is a way to go. You can always save races if you don’t use them.
I absolutely had a blast with my wife and her mother. The karts are fast, handle great around the corners, and feel super safe while driving. Will definitely be back
There was a 2hr wait when we arrived. Be sure to make reservations online prior to going. Otherwise you'll be waiting awhile.
People here are great. The crew is fast and friendly. Also while I was there some guy did a huge burnout in the parking lot! Such a cool chill spot
It was amazing we all had fun some of my family came down here from Chicago and they watched us all the kids raced and we had an amazing time? ️
Let me start by saying I really like this place. But too many times I have seen the workers let terrible, aggressive drivers get away with terrible behavior that ruins everyone's experience.
Great place to stop by and get a few laps in! My first experience here was great, and if you have ever been to K1 Speed, this place almost seems identical to it.
It was my first time going there and it was a blast! Striker beat me in all 3 of my races but he gave me some tips to do better. My only complaint is the people that have no experience with any vehicles. They are always in the way but most people start understanding after about 2 races.
Had my son's 10th birthday party here 12 kids racing. The team at did a great job splitting the races up into 2 heats. Then the adults had two intense races as well. I think we will be back a few times before school starts again.
