Tampa Bay Rum Co, Home of Gasparilla Rum reviews
20Had a great time during the tasting and rum tour. Michaela was an incredible guide and the rum was good luck to anyone who tries the spicy one though
What an amazing place. Love the whole pirate theme. The cocktails were amazing and the staff was incredible!
Last night was the first time I’ve been to your place and I absolutely loved it! It wasn’t hot in there and it looked great. My favorite thing was the variety of drinks I had 4 different ones and they were all delicious especially the great pumpkin
Tess, Noel and Dave were absolutely amazing! We could have stayed all day drinking and conversing with them! The rum tasting is a must! We ended up buying 6 bottles and socializing with other patrons. We will definitely be back!
This is a must try if you’re in the Tampa area. The drinks are some of the best I’ve ever had, and the bartenders are a great time. Not only are they extremely knowledgeable about the drinks they are making & the distillery process, they are friendly, nice, and great conversationalists! Shout out to Brad and Tessa for an amazing experience yesterday, me and my friends will definitely be frequent flyers.
The most warm and welcoming. The knowledge that was shared …top shelf. Such a Great experience. Matt wonderful host and a Wizard Fun fun place to check out. Tampa
We had a great time! Great staff! Tour was quick but it was hot, so the time was perfect! We got the tour and tasting discount from Groupon. Got to keep our shot glasses! Got a free small Rum Punch drink for liking them on Facebook. It was yummy! Definitely will be back. Loved the decor! Felt like we traveled to a pirate hideout! LOL. Would definitely recommend!
My husband and I came for the tasting and were not disappointed. For $12 each, we got a quick simple tour, which was hot so quick was fine, and 9 different tastings in our own take hime shot glass. We both enjoyed the variety! Matthew and Brad were awesome!
Great short tour with lots of rum making details. Tasting was excellent. Bar is super piratey cool. Must go.
A must visit in Tampa. A truly one of kind real operating distillery, backed by a superb group of passionate individuals. Excellent rum for even the pickiest of the rum drinkers. Hugh shout out to Master Distiller, Brad and tour extraordinaire/cocksmith Tess! Will be back to plunder some more rum and enjoy more cocktails.
It took me a few days to write this review because I didn’t want to be super negative. Desdemona, the bartender during the tastings, did an excellent job. Brad, who checked us in, did his best to overcome what we found to be misleading from their website. Most of us were disappointed because we thought there would be some historical information disseminated through the tour. But the tour basically just tells you about how they distill the product. I had brought a group of 24 people and told them the tour and tasting were free because I had not seen a price on the website. I believe their website is very misleading and the price is so buried that you don’t see it listed. Heads up, it’s $12 a person, but you do get to keep your souvenir shot glass. I wouldn’t bring anyone back again, and if anyone asked me about going there, I would have to say I wouldn’t recommend it. But if you like rum, you might enjoy the different flavors they offer.
We called ahead and were told tours ended at 6: 45. We drove an hour and arrived at 5: 45 only to be adamantly told "tours always end at 5: 30. " Our obvious disappointment was greeted with indifference bordering on arrogance. I was once a fan and advocate of your spirits but your label no longer has a place at my tiki bar.
Brad is the GOAT! Went for a tasting and tour for my son's 21st birthday and we made the right choice to do this 1st.
Very informative and we had drinks and beer after and that was the icing on the cake. We will be back for sure. Thank you Brad for giving us a one of a kind 21st birthday experience.
I’ve been here a few times and love it. The atmosphere is great, their rums are awesome, and they’re dog friendly. They just expanded the bar and added a lot more seating. They also have a bunch of cocktails to choose from that are great. Definitely recommend stopping by.
Went here yesterday 3/16 and had an amazing time. The Rum was delicious and that HAF vodka is a must try. Definitely will be coming back and recommend this place to anyone they won't be disappointed
I bought a Groupon and got one hell of an evening. Our host, Dez, was absolutely fantastic! We got a history lesson, a tour, and a tasting all in one. I think we kind of lucked out being the only ones in there. We got to really take our time and enjoy it. The enthusiasm Dez showed throughout the whole experience was incredible and the rum was damn good too. The key lime was so good! Would 100% go back!
Noël, Brittany, Brad, Matt, Samuel, and Emily were all great! Can’t recommend this place enough! Loved the tour and drinking at the bar afterwards. I hope good things come their way!
Found through group on and figured why not give it a shot. Thought it was ok when we arrived, did our tasting…didn’t really care for the rums offered but everyone’s tastes vary. There were several flavors but we felt rushed to get through the tasting. The tour was a joke. Again felt rushed and was not informative at all. Decided to give the bar a try for a cocktail. We sat, and looked over a drink menu on the bar. We waited and waited for the barkeep to take our order, but he never even acknowledged us, as he was way over engaged talking to another party about his little dance troupe. After several minutes of being ignored, we walked out. Maybe it was just an off day, but I was thoroughly disappointed.
We’ve been a half dozen times so far and really love this distillery! Great spirits and staff! Shoutout to Annalise for a super fun tour!
The place opens at 4 and we were early. The manager, who was helpful throughout the afternoon, suggested we take a walk downtown to 7th Street and check it out. We loved finding the Columbia restaurant! When we were in for the tour, we were blown away by Noah's knowledge of the brewing and fermentation process. Sorry I forgot the manager's name, but a special thanks to these 2 young men for making our stop extra special!
