Tarpon Bay Seafood Restaurant reviews
19Ordered 12 oysters and you'd think a professional chef could count but we only got 11. The whole fried snapper has shrunk to 1/3 the size it was a few years ago. The spiny lobster and pasta was overcooked, chewy like rubber, and tasted awful. The waitress also sucked. Have been coming here for many years and won't ever be back.
Absolutely love this place! It's a bit pricey but the food, service and atmosphere are A-mazing! We'll worth it!
We had a 6: 15 reservation and after more than an hour still no appetizer's finally got them and oysters were a disgrace.waited another 40 minutes still no dinner.we left! We have been going to the Hyatt for years! Never never has it been this bad! So bad we will never be back! If you don't have enough help don"t fill the tables.as we walked out three other couples walked out also! Shame on you Hyatt! You were a great hotel but no more!
Fare was fair. Very pricey with small portions. I got the jerk chicken with a few carrots and potatoes. It was a leg quarter for $34. Disappointing.
The $110 Waygu Rib Eye was really bad. Tasted like a cheap steak from a bad restaurant smothered in gravy. After scraping the gravy off, I tried adding salt and pepper for taste, and it was still less then adequate.
The screened patio has been replaced with climate control and windows. This was our favorite dinner spot in Florida. The breeze, view and fountain charm are gone. We will miss the wonderful staff and superb food.
Very disappointed experience for my husband's bday.no acknowledgement of it even though booked thru open table and stated we were there for his birthday
Easily one of the top 5 meals we've ever had. We did not stay in the hotel, but the hotel completed a 3 million dollar renovation last year, and wow! Absolutely gorgeous hotel and the Tarpon Bay restaurant was beautiful as well. We sat out on the porch that faced the little lake, which provides big picture windows for the sunset and the lake looked nice with all the lit palm trees all around. We tried each of the 5 ceviche apps which was so fun and delicious served with plantain and tortilla chips. Their house champagne was great, perfect with fish and everything was phenomenal. The snapper Diablo mango sauce was spicy but the flavor was out of this world! My seared tuna was perfection. Also the mango sorbet was the perfect palate cleanser, and we got the triple chocolate dessert to go. Yumm! Will be going back!
A huge thank you. Tremendous food and amazing service. Gene serenaded our table for our birthday guest. It was beyond memorable. Please share with Gene that he made this visit one for the ages.
Service was amazing and they were very helpful. Loved the view and the food was great!? ️
Way to expensive for the quality of the food. It wasn't bad by any means, it was quite adequate. However I'd have expected the dishes to be about half the price for what it was. Texas Roadhouse, for example, is about 30% cheaper and much higher quality. Anyway. Good place to eat if you are staying at the hotel.
Delicious food and wonderful view from screen porch. More importantly our server Peggy, was so sweet and helpful. It was a wonderful experience for our stay.
OMG this place this amazing! From the drinks to the appetizers to the main course. Talk about fresh. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great views of the sunset. I highly highly recommend this place. I will 1000% be back. Thanks for such a great and enjoyable time.
My friend and I have been very excited to eat dinner here after seeing their menu. The menu and restaurant give the illusion that it was going to be an amazing meal. I counted maybe ten tables that were sat. Our meal took 30+ minutes which was fine because my friend and I were catching up.
Once we got our food, the mood totally changed. My grouper was rubbery. Not fresh at all. My potatoes were lukewarm. Her food was just warm as well. I ate 4 bites and didnt finish. How incredibly disappointing. And after asking several local friends they all mentioned that they had less than pleasant experiences. Who knew?
I would not recommend this place.
Also, we had the key lime pie (complimentary due to my food) which is my favorite pie and omg it was not good. It was something thawed and didn’t have much key lime flavor.
Went to Tarpon Bay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The cottage style ambiance was very nice and cozy. Cocktails were generous. Food and service excellent. Our server even surprised us with a lovely anniversary dessert (see pic). Very enjoyable evening.
Excellent Dinner Service.
Crab legs were great, the scallops were perfect and the diablo snapper was good however a little too much of the sauce and a little small on the filet size.dessert menu was not the best either but would good back again for sure.
Tarpon Bay Is a wonderful restaurant. We had a large group - and the staff took excellent care of us. The food was excellent - with the Snapper Diablo being Behr most popular choice in our group. Tarpon Bay has a great patio overlooking a lake. Overall - it was an excellent dinning experience
Lovely atmosphere, great service and our meals (seared Tuna & Fillet) both cooked to the requested temperature. Business located within the Hyatt property but separate from the main building providing for a unique standalone experience.
Celebrated my birthday here. We initially were seated inside (cold) we asked to be seated outside at the water. Caylie really went above and beyond to organize a table for us outside (at the water). Amazing view & really made my day - thank you!
