Ted Peters Famous Smoked Fish reviews
20Great spot for lunch or dinner. The smoked mahi is amazing when it comes to a lighter fish flavor and a tuna like texture. The mullet is a stronger fish flavor but very good too. The potato salad may be some of the best I've ever had. You will be missing out if you don't at least try it. The fish spread is pretty good, but i think the mullet was used to make it.
Florida native here.born in Tampa, live in Pinellas Park, just celebrated my 50th birthday, and thoroughly enjoyed eating at Ted Peters for the very first time two days ago on Monday!
Outstanding! Delicious! Fantastic! Most tasty smoked mullet I have EVER eaten! I DEVOURED IT! Flavorful, along with amazing cole slaw and German potato salad.however I can not say enough freaking fabulous details regarding their smoked fish. I highly recommend to anyone and everyone! Stop in and enjoy a real treat - in business now for 70 years! Down home feel, where all are considered family!
If I could eat there everyday, I certainly would. Enjoy! ️️️️️️
Still one of our St. Pete favorites but beware! Get there NO later than 6: 30pm! They start shoving you out the door at 6: 45pm even though the signs and web site say they close at 7: 30pm. VERY unappealing! Often out of food by 6pm.as.well
I brought my mother down from Circus Co.to get some smoked mackerel. We were not disappointed. It was a taste we remember from our past. It's good to have something that's survived for so long.
Just left your place because your blonde waitresses doesn’t have any knowledge on customer service
Throwing menus to our table is not acceptable
I will make sure to tell all my friends to not visit
First place I ate in St Pete almost a decade ago and it is exactly as good today as it was then!
For years we have loved Ted Peters. However they have been so rude. Posted hours are not true availability so please call them to make sure they are open and willing to serve you. We were just turned away as they didn’t have cook staff however we could order take out. They were not nice or apologetic. This unfortunately is not the first time this has happened. We live 25 minutes away so this was the last time we will make the drive.
Pretty unique spot with an absolutely delectable smell that will turn your head every time you drive by. It looks a bit pricy at first glance but the salmon dinner we ordered for $26 fed two. Cash only thing is a bit annoying and the service wasn't the fastest but I'd come back. Hard to find good food in these tourist-heavy areas.
The smoked mullet was as great as always. Just remember, they are closed on Tuesdays and it is cash only.
Disappointed not what I was expecting. The food was not smoked like advertised. It had the taste of liquid smoke.
My first time at Ted Peters was with my dad in the late 1950's. And since moving back to Florida a couple of years back, I've driven 90 miles to St. Pete (well, Pasadena) and always stopped by Ted Peters for a smoked mullet meal and smoked mullet spread to go. Casual outdoor eating, friendly wait staff, and GREAT smoked fish and sides. A great value too. Make sure you visit.
Best smoked mullet ever. We have never been disappointed. 20 years at least, whin we make it to St Pete, Ted Peter's is a destination stop.
Very nostalgic place and been here forever. If you like smoked fish it doesn't get any better, however, if you don't there are not many other options. I did have a burger which was good but apparently the smoked fish spread is famous too.
I like this place, great food. But for an outdoor restaurant - that is basically a patio with picnic tables in a parking lot - not allowing dogs is really dumb.
Most tables were empty, but had two servers tell us before we could get off our bikes.
We biked over with our nine pound puppy, and had to turn around and go home. Just not in touch with the times.
In response, I’ve owned and operated over 15 restaurants. Would I let a dog into any of them? No. Would I let people sit in any outdoor seating/patio area with one? Yes. Iguanas, no. But saying no dogs in an outdoor seating area because of the occasional weirdo is lazy.
Been here forever- still the best smoked fish, german potato salad and cold root beer in Florida! Also great burgers! Cash only.
Another outstanding experience at Ted Peters! I had the Smoked Fish Spread sandwich with the potato salad and coleslaw. Unbelievably delicious!
Sit at the bar have a nice cold draft and delicious smoked Mahi! Or get it to go!
Bring Cash!
I wish we had extra day cuz we would have eaten here again. The smoked Salmon was really good and the sides too. This place been open for over 50 years and I can see why. If you're in the area stop by grab lunch/dinner they both have outdoor/indoor seating. FYI: Cash Only.
Hasn't this place gotten into the 21st century yet, when are they going start accepting credit cards?
We have been here twice now. Have tried the salmon, mullet and mahi mahi. Next time we will get the mackerel. The sides are good but the fish is amazing! A must go for sure! Oh amd the mugs of cold beer are pretty great too!
