Ted's Firearms - St. Pete Police Supply, Clearwater FL

Would give 0 stars if I could. Called ahead for 9 mil ammo was told yes they have it, drove 30 mins to buy it arrived and was told the only way I could buy the ammo is if I shot said ammo in their range! Really frustrating considering he could have told me this on the phone before i made the drive all the way over there.

Second time shooting at Ted’s and another great experience. I usually take a friend with me to shoot and hope that they have a good time as well. Teds staff is always welcoming. We were greeted by a woman immediately upon entering and after a slight mixup charged to my friend for ammo and range time, we were good to go. I was also able to meet “Ted” himself. Very personable guy. I’d like to see a larger firearm inventory however. I also appreciated the range fee discount for retired law enforcement. This will be my go to range from now on.

Very friendly people, came up for our 25th anniversary and had a blast. I highly recommend Ted's to any one who want good products, knowledgeably people and a great time!

I've been to Ted's a few times to purchase primers for reloading i called today to see if they had any in stock.
I ended up talking to a very rude Pearson
I asked if they had any small pistol and small rifle primers in stock and all i got was no we don't have any and hung up.
This will be the last time i do business with this place

First time at Ted's Today and I must say they are the super friendly. I am new to town a enjoyed chatting with the Lady who is also from Miami and a Dolphins fan. I felt at home. Prices are very fair and look forward to coming back more frequently.

I sweat. I'm not a slider guy. I had to go into the hospital for emergency surgery. When I got home, my glock was FROZEN. The action, had no action. FROZEN with salty sweat. Took it to Ted's Firearms. Not only did he clear the "pipe". He said "I can't let you walk out of the shop intill I clean this. He took it completely apart and CLEANED IT. Now THAT'S service. Thank you.

This is the third time I have driven all the way down here and they are closed during their posted business hours. That will not happen again. 3rd strike

Went in yesterday with my husband. They were very nice guys, took time to talk & answer all questions I had! Look forward to returning & taking the CWP class!

Called ahead looking for batteries for my new reflex sight, told me they didint have them and to check elsewhere.told them i would pick up the batteries and then head over for some range time. On arrival asked to either borrow a flat head or have them put the battery in my sight for me. I was informed they "have no tools in the store" pretty rudely by the front desk clerk, which was a lie because they had replaced the clip on my glocks holster for me before (using a flat head). Sucks I made the 30 minute drive to shoot with my new reflex sight and couldn't. Shot here plenty of times and normally everyone is pretty nice besides this one guy. I would recommend having a more friendly face on the front end of your small business as every customer counts. Rather make the drive to shooters world.

Un-Friendly place - went to pick up couple firearms i had transferred to them, first they tried to get me to pick them up separately to avoid being put on an ''ATF List" I told them i have nothing to be concerned about being on a list, I feel they were trying to get me in trouble for trying to subvert the law at their suggestion. Sorry i bought 2 guns at once, they were both guns i wanted and both were on sale. Sorry you think 2 guns is a lot of money, it is not for me. Then they talked down one of the handguns i purchased, parroting gun magazine articles on it being ''a gimmick' the Taurus Curve - which shoots the best groupings of any. 380 i've ever owned, is my go to carry gun, and the only weapon i've had to draw on a person outside of the military, and the bright white light and laser - both embedded into the gun, got the thief who already had 3 of my handguns, to stop and get on the ground, (my gun wasn't even loaded). So keep your opinions to yourself when someone purchases a weapon, it's rude and shows your reliance on some magazine you read while sitting in the bathroom. Then while speaking with the gentlemen behind the counter, had a uniformed officer, come right up and almost push me away from the counter he was standing so close to me, trying to interrupt and talk to the guy i was in a conversation with. A good salesman would have told officer friendly to wait until he was done talking to this customer (Me). So i've not been back since, and will not go back. And i tell everyone i know not to go there. If you're a rude cop, then this is your place to go so you can feel important. If you're an ex military infantry instructor who's trained and sent many young men into battle, and expect to be treated with a little respect, even if i didn't chose to be a cop, deciding i was tired of bars and stars on someone's shoulder, go somewhere else.

I'm 24, came in to Ted's a few months back to buy my first handgun. I called the day before and was told they had 3 of the pistols I wanted in stock. When I arrived I was told they didn't sell revolvers and after mentioning my phone call they said they just sold the last one. Their are many shops much more deserving of your business in the area that will be more than happy to help you.

Range is well ventilated. Nice selection of the better brands. Option for classroom time for CWP in the back. Excellent staff!

Great, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Shop has a neighborhood friendliness that can't be faked. Nice range, too!

Well stocked, air conditioned indoor range, but folks behind the counter are what counts.
If it is firearm related, you're covered.
I'm a relative newbie customer, they are my go to FFL, and willingness to HELP makes all the difference.
I especially appreciate their efforts to introduce women to self defense CCW and developing their skills, the ladies behind the counter know their stuff.

Went to use the gun range nice facility only wish they had more lanes. Jereamy behind the counter was very nice and knowledgeable. I ended up buy a gun and was very pleased with the whole experience!

I shoot at this place often and I appreciate the low range fee and friendly staff. Enjoying shooting there, I decided to send a gun there for transfer (from gun broker). I was told they "won't fax" an FFL to another dealer, and they don't accept transfers from budd's, cabelas, aim surplus, palmetto, etc, because they "sell guns too cheap". WHAT!? I walked out the door and went to another dealer for my transfer. Sorry but they are getting $35 for DOING NOTHING.a free phone call and an entry in the log. Woodsbros was $10 cheaper, friendly, and happy to send a fax. A1 Tactical will do up to three at once for a flat $30. Avoid for transfers.

Purchased my first gun today was a little nervous but thanks to my sales person he was patient with me helped me pick a hand gun that was a good fit for Home and personal safety will be taking classes on safety and hand gun use.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I enjoy going here to use the range. I would recommend checking this place out.

My husband and I took the Firearms Safety Course at Ted’s today. We both thought Jim (the instructor) was very good. He covered all the material in a timely manner while inserting some locale case facts and humor along the way. He made us feel comfortable in the range even though it had been many years since either of us had fired a weapon. The sales staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The range is nice and clean as well.
