Temple Terrace Public Library reviews
13The kids section in the library is so beautiful and engaging lil one’s. Also the library conducts events every week for all age groups. Loved this place.
3 very courteous staff members, 3 with serious attitude problems, literally 2 years never seen them even smile. Newest employee, latina girl with cross earrings, really takes the cake, makes up rules as she goes along.
I would give them 10 stars if I could. Very friendly staff and very quiet to get some school work done. This was my first time visiting this branch and will definitely be coming here all the time.
I could give them a 10 if I can.
This branch has been my "go to" for resources - tech questions & all. Kudos to Shannon! He's the best and with Sara as well lately. Thank you very much!
Never there was an occasion where I'm "stuck" with a project that can't be resolved.
They have a listening heart & well- versed in what they do. I feel like a part of an extended family. Blessed to be in Temple Terrace Community.
I go here often very well organized my son loves the children's room and always has so much fun it is beautifully decorated helpful staff
We come here often to borrow books for my daughter. There was a Puppy Dog Tales event on 04/23. It has a lot of small fun activities (Storytelling, crafting, character tattoos, dog petting etc.) My daughter loved the event! Thank you for the amazing event.
Librarians are helpful but ignore the uber loud people, the lady who brought her 18 months hold in and left him on the floor whole she was in facebook.
Great location and easy to find. But I had to take away 2 stars for the following reasons.
1. Constant chatter between the library staff. Supposed to be a "quiet place" to use my laptop but nooooooo. They can't even enforce their own rules. What a joke!
2. This one lady that was on the public computer since I arrived until the time I left. Her phone was constantly going off like every 5 minutes and none of the staff told her to put her phone on mute or ask her to leave. Also, her boyfriend/husband/baby daddy (?) came in with their boy toddler and he was constantly crying and throwing tantrums. Again staff said nothing but the gentleman did leave eventually with the boy. I have nothing against kids because I have my own but there is a kids section with books.
Bottom line-Don't make rules if you have no plan of enforcing them. I'm better off going to North Tampa Library in the hood than this place which is supposed to be the "rich part of town"
This is a very cute community library. The children's area is impressive. There are puzzles and other hands-on activities for the children to work on while parents pick out books. The murals on the library walls are also very nice. This library also checks out non-traditional items like board games and novelty baking tins.
Very friendly staff Susan is awesome and was extremely helpful! Dominique also has helped me
My experience at the Temple Terrace Public Library was disgraceful.
I showed up to this library on Saturday morning, promptly at opening, with the intention of using my laptop computer to attend a virtual meeting for school. I do not reside in Temple Terrace, and therefore I had no other means of acquiring Wifi nor a safe place to attend my school meeting. Thus I figured that the public library would be an excellent place to safely and respectfully finish my work — yet this simple assumption that Temple Terrace Public Library would be a wonderful resource to use could not have been farther from the truth.
Upon arriving at the library, I was informed by staff that "the only place to sit would be at the desks that have computers". I walked inside to find that nearly every table had been stacked on top of one another, nearly every seat wrapped with "do not sit" tape, and nearly every inch of space in the library left wide open. As I walked to the section that had multiple computers, I sat down with my laptop at a desk that contained a computer and I began my work.
Quickly, a library worker walked up to me and said "will you be using ‘our’ computers? " I informed her that I would not be using the library computer, yet I needed to sit at a desk to complete my assignment for school. She said "if you are not using one of our computers, you cannot sit here and you must leave. ” I promptly informed her that I have my own computer with me, that I am required to use a webcam to attend my school meeting (the library computers do not have webcams), and that all of the remaining computers at the library were not being used — indicating that there was a multitude of empty computers available for other patrons to use.
To make matters worse, there was not a single other patron inside the library besides myself, and a vast multitude of citizens could have used the other computers present at the library before needing the computer/desk that I personally was sitting at. The library worker informed me that "these policies are in place because of Covid". I respectfully rebutted that I am fully vaccinated, that I am wearing a mask, and that I only need this seat for a brief period of time.
What was the librarian’s solution to my simple request to have a seat at the desk inside a public library to do my school work? She told me that "I could work outside the building on a park bench where I might be able to get Wifi. ”
I was forced to complete my assignment on the park bench while having insects crawl on my clothes, the sun glare in my eyes, and while being interrupted by a random solicitor outside.
Temple Terrace Public Library, as it is currently being run, is a disgrace in the highest regard.
This predicament highlights the vast lack of common sense among the staff whom I interacted with and a glaring ineptitude in library policy. There is no excuse that can be made for how harshly I was treated. Any attempt to equivocate such thoughtless policy under the guise of Covid restrictions shall truly be shameful, as the current policies put in place do nothing to promote community health nor the wellbeing of students like myself.
If you have any intention of completing work, I recommend going elsewhere.
They are doing very well considering being in the middle of a pandemic. I feel safe and there are hand sanitizing stations placed throughout the library. The Librarians are always polite I have been coming here for years.
