The Alchemist Cafe reviews
14 Great food and AMAZING coffee. Customer service is extremely poor when the owner is manning the register as he hit on me and tried to make me feel poorly for having a partner since he was more interested in hitting on me instead of getting my order correct. He forgot my additional eggs with my potato waffle and the male food runner’s response was “you didn’t get charged for it so it’s not like you are missing anything. ”
I went again today because the coffee is really really great and the employees this morning were super kind and professional.
I ordered an Açaí jar and the Iced Alchemist. There’s another giant ice alchemist called the Alchemando but I didn’t see it on the chalk board menu and it’s a large Iced Alchemist.
Hopefully this review is a reminder to the owner to be a professional and not harass his guests.
Aside from spilling my acai bowl all over myself, and dropping my coffee on the ground, this place was great!
UPDATE: I managed to get the Acai stains out of my shorts. The key is quick action, water+paper towel
Always meet crazy, wild and awesome people there. There's a children's book author there with his book, and the star of the show Blaze the snake. He's tiny and safe and no worries they're off to the side outside whenever they decide to show up
It's a cool place, and the coffee is good, but frequently I've had to send it back. The food is just okay. I've had a few different food options here and the only good one has been the salmon slicer. Breakfast croissant was dry and not flavorful, no sauce on it or anything. The acai bowl was just way too mushy, the ingredients said there are oats but there were only a sprinkle on top. Not enough to add texture. Edit: food has consistently been lackluster every time I go back. They've definitely lowered the quality.
Definitely go there if you're on a vacation or even if you live here. Their food is good and the environment is amazing. Many little restaurants at one place. Vu la voo breakfast is on point. Highly recommend the place.it gets hot in there tho
Nice cozy spot to get work done. Their brie & honey open-faced sandwich is so good and I get it every time I’m there. Creative drinks too!
Don’t ever order chicken and waffles they gave us this piece of under cooked chicken and when i tried to ask for another piece of chicken or if they could do anything about it i was told i had to pay for a whole other piece! Then i was told i could speak to the manager and no manager ever showed! Very unprofessional and disappointing!
Hidden little gem of a village of an outdoor funky coffee cafe, a Mexican taco bodega and Lola's bazaars. Very fun, unusual and eclectic.
Alchemist is always a great place to visit and eat.
Voo La Voo next door is great too.
The entire tight neighborhood shouldn't be missed.
Very overpriced. Staff not particularly attentive. Coffee was sitting long enough before service that it came out pretty close to room temp.
Excellent breakfast. Amazing coffee & tea. Fresh, high quality ingredients. Relaxing outdoor seating.
I really enjoye coming here. It's a nice outdoor area, beautiful surroundings. Food is fresh, coffee is delicious, great eating options. There is also a nice area to purchase records, candles, jewelry. Staff is friendly, there is inside dining as well.
I had the Hawaiian focaccia and it was amazing. Such a cute place to eat lunch and I'll definitely be back
I guess I posted this to the wrong place. I figured the Alchemist was the same coffee shop in Miami as in Fort Lauderdale. The Miami Alchemist Aventura said this was not their coffee. So I will leave my coffee review here… Ft. Lauderdale location. Perhaps this place is not the same as the Alchemist Coffee Roasters. Now I’m just not sure. At any rate we thought because the word Alchemist was in the name it was affiliated with the coffee roasters. It was $9 for two of the “large” cups. You would think it would at least look like a grande for that price but ok, good coffee is worth a little more. I must say my brewed at home Starbucks Cafe Verona has a much better flavor. It might be good with the added froo froo stuff most people put in it but we drink it black. At best this was probably similar to mom’s watered down drip Folgers. I suppose people come for the food and atmosphere which is fine but we will definitely not be back for the coffee.
