The Breakfast House reviews
16Major turnoffs were all of the cracks in the cups and plates, where bacteria is known to settle and grow, and the overall service was lacking and not accommodating in the slightest. We can understand if the owner is waiting on you, it’s a little bit different than if there is an actual waiter waitress who maybe cares. I live in the area and came here with my sister and brother-in-law, and just overall the service and the quality was lacking.if we get three coffees and one person says “I can’t drink this do you have any tea? ” and the other two people push their coffees to the front of the table, untouched you expect to be at least offered something else to drink, as well… but genuinely, she didn’t seem to care if we were happy with our food or not. I would just go somewhere else and not bother.they seem to do good business, guess other folks like that dishwater that they want to call “regular coffee. ”
Voted best pancakes in florida. A must try. Many other great options. Real maple syrup served with pancakes. Yummy.
Cozy place, very tasty food, awesome staff.
Highly recommended for breakfast or lunch.
I, ordered the build your own omelet with ham mushrooms and spinach it was canned mushrooms dark they tasted strong like the can terrible 1 piece of small toast? , the grits had mozzarella cheese garlic in them terrible tasting only 1 server inside & 1 outside slow my wife's breakfast was good for me I won't be going back
Do not miss this place for breakfast or lunch and, whatever you do, don't miss the pancakes.thank you Lindsey for suggesting hubby and I, in addition to our lunch, order just one pancake share.best pancake I've ever had! Lunch, too, was so good.
First time visitor. Food was very good.
Server was fast and nice.
We had 4 breakfast meals and when I got the bill I was shocked. $80 for 4 people.
They automatically add 18% tip and then charge $3 for using your debit card. Won’t be back.
The atmosphere was nice, however the service from our waitress was so-so. The pancakes were cakey and my mom didn’t enjoy them to much. The French toast was good. However, the corn beef hash was okay. Overall, we probably won’t be back, but it was nice to try a new place.
From the two hostesses aour waitress Cierra, every thing was wonderful! The food was absolutely delicious! I loved their homemade pumpkin pancakes! Even their unsweetened tea was one of the best tea that I have tasted! I picked this restaurant because it looked so cute! From the food to the service and the atmosphere, it was beyond my expectations!
AMAZING little Gem! Thanks today. I will definitely be back. Ambience is great. The food was awesome and the staff was amazing. Thank you thank you thank you!
A very quaint and super solid breakfast joint.
I will tell you this - there is actually truth in advertising, well, at least at this little breakfast stop. There's a sign that hangs outside that touts this place has the best pancakes in Florida. That's one heck of a statement to make, much less put on a sign that hangs out there stating such, day-in and day-out. I can attest that they are truthful in their statement - they might very well have the best pancakes in Florida.
We stopped in on our last day in Sarasota - our way out really after a nice two-day stay. My wife had their "Build Your Own" Omelet, while I had the veggie eggs benedict. Both were superb. As an add-on we had their Island pancake - a pancake filled with crushed macadamia nuts and a nice whole and thick slice of pineapple - what a treat!
Service was super friendly, super efficient, and took care of us from the get-go. She did a fabulous job.
We will be back in a month, and without a doubt, this will be one of our breakfast stops when we return.
Such an adorable little place. The service was excellent and everyone so friendly. Indoor and outdoor dining which I love. The best grits I have ever eaten! We shared the lavender, lemon, blueberry pancakes and the vegetarian eggs Benedict. I definitely would never order the pancakes to eat by myself, they were very filling but really good. We wanted to try something we couldn’t get anywhere else. I really wanted the chocolate chip lol the eggs Benedict was good nothing extraordinary and slightly over cooked egg. Great place
What a find! Small, quaint, well appointed cafe, the attention to the dining room was evident down to the napkin color matching the chair color at the table. Local art for sale adorns the walls. It was a fun little place where you can see the owners have great pride, but but the food surpasses the attention to decor. If I was local, I would be back weekly for brunch. The corned beef hash was crispy on the outside, creamy inside and seasoned so well. I had the CBH Benedict, and asked them to put it on a grilled biscuit, which was the perfect touch.
Delightful in every way!
(The sign out front says they have the best pancakes in Florida. I would have to agree.)
Operated by a family, you'll feel at home in this cozy space. Our group had a delicious meal with stuffed french toast and a remarkable Greek quiche as the standouts.
I can't recommend this place highly enough for families with little kids. The staff was very kind to our toddler, and they provided toys to help them get through the meal.
Cute ambience, wonderful food, kind staff. It's got it all.
It was okay. Seems a bit overhyped. Good prices but food is mediocre, as well as the service. They don’t take reservations but do have call ahead. They have a lot of stuff on their menu, my sister got a breakfast sandwich and there were so many bread and protein options. I am gluten free so it was great to be able to have French toast and they also had gluten free bread and I think they also had gluten free pancakes. I got the “stuffed” French toast but it really wasn’t stuffed, more just sandwiched and not the greatest; I’ve had better gluten free breakfast. We also didn’t have salt on our table and our server didn’t come back for awhile after we had gotten our food so I walked up to ask someone instead. He didn’t believe me and had to go check our table for salt himself which was a bit annoying as we had already been waiting then he had to walk back to the kitchen and grab the salt, the back to us. We sometimes see a line here on the weekends so we figured it was worth a try. Not bad but not great.
Great little private restaurant with outdoor seating. Really good menu selection. The potatoes and sides are well made and it feels like you're getting a home cooked meal. The only downside is the cost which is very expensive for what you get. You feel like you just paid there rent after you pay the Bill.
