It was difficult putting my mother into an assisted living facility, but The Canopy made it easy. They took such great care of her day and night. The leadership to the staff were exceptional. They showed such love and compassion for my mother who needed extra care and for our family. I would highly recommend The Canopy for your love ones.

What a wonderful place! After looking at several facilities in Jacksonville I am pleased to say that my mother will be calling this home. The Canopy at Duval Station exceeded all my expectations with regard to cleanliness, appearance, quality of staff and structure of program (activities, availability of healthcare and services, etc). Every staff member I spoke with was courteous, professional and smiling. They all went above and beyond to make my mother feel welcome. Special thanks to Yvette for taking the time to answer all my questions/concerns. If you're looking for a place for Mom or Dad - look no further!

My mother in law lives at The Canopy. She enjoys it and calls it her home. The residents have become her family, the community is beautiful, the staff truly cares for each resident. I have a peaceful mind with her there. We took her on a short vacation and she only wanted to be back at her home at The Canopy. Thank you Canopy staff for caring and loving her so much. It is her happy place.

Great team to work with. #1 objective of all the staff is the care and well being of the residents. Go team Canopy!

I wish this divided assisted living and memory care for different reviews because I cannot speak for the assisted living. However, the memory care, if you can even call it that, has been horrible to our grandfather and extended family. With the exception of a few staff members that actually mean well, the management staff is a joke. Here’s a few of the red flags that we personally witnessed, we can’t fathom what takes place behind closed doors.

- No security at desk multiple visits.
- Patients left unattended for 15+ minutes in gathering room.
- Patients trying to take other patients to bedrooms (while unattended)
- Patients in soiled clothes for unknown amounts of time.
- Patients falling and being left lying on the floor due to no supervision.
-Lost our Grandfather He was found HOURS later barefoot with heavy police assistance.
- Employees and management lying about incidents that take place that video surveillance shows otherwise.

If you care about your loved one’s well being please, I urge you to look beyond The Canopy at Duval Station. It may look like a beautiful facility but we learned the hard way, looks can be deceiving.

I notice all of the positive reviews here are from those who have family in the assisted living side. I’m so happy to hear you are having a great experience.

For anyone with a loved one in the memory care side or anyone considering admitting your love one with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other memory care issues…. I would ask you to be very leery. After 3 short months of being open, The Canopy at Duval Station lost my grandfather. Lost, as in he was able to walk out their doors barefoot and down a side street where he was found HOURS later after heavy police involvement. No lock on the back door, no alarm sounded as he exited, and no video surveillance (bc their cameras were down on the side where MEMORY CARE patients are living). Thank God he was safely returned to us; my grandmother would never have forgiven herself had the outcome been different.

After being assured security measures were being implemented that very night into the next day we decided, against better judgement, to allow this facility to gain our trust back. Multiple visits where my grandfather was alone in a hallway where he had been sitting in his own feces for Lord knows how long until a family member came to visit and brought it to the nurses’ attention. Multiple attempts to visit but there was no one at the front door to allow us in (even though the night my grandfather disappeared we were assured there was ALWAYS someone at the front desk).
All of this to now, just a couple months later without EVEN a day’s notice, being informed that my grandfather was being kicked out of the facility (in the middle of the night) for exhibiting behaviors of a typical dementia patient. Anyone who knows someone who suffers/has suffered from dementia knows it is a heartbreaking disease that changes the person from the inside out. It took months of convincing my grandmother to allow the family to place my grandfather under the care of The Canopy bc we felt confident they were trusted experts who would provide for his needs and had his safety at the forefront of their minds. Sadly, The Canopy at Duval Station has proven time and time again this is not the case. I share our story not to be vindictive but in hopes that no other dementia patient and their family will have to endure the same heartbreak we did.

I am highly impressed with The Canopy. The facility is new and well kept and the staff surpassed my expectations. They are friendly, compassionate, and patient. These qualities give family members peace of mind their loved one is being cared.

Truly the best place. If I were to ever recommend a place to a family, it would be the canopy. When the time comes for me to be placed somewhere, it will be here.

I first want to warn the people looking at these 5 star reviews management it seems has posted one. Which makes me question the legitimacy of
the other five star reviews. I wish I could do 0 stars. This place took my grandfather on the memory care side in January. Three months ago they lost him. He got out an unsecured back door. After heavy police presence, dogs, and helicopters hours later we finally found him barefooted down the road. Thank God he was found safe. After giving grace and promises from The Canopy of higher safety measures. Now recently he was kicked out under false allegations. The video showed a different story than what was reported. The assisted living side may be okay… But for anyone with a loved one with any memory care needs. I would say RUN far away from this place.

A place where it is truly home away from home! Residents are very happy and engaged there. Staff treats each one with dignity and respect!

My grandfather was over here and now I. A different place. It is a very nice place however the care is not that great. The food is no good, and cleaning in the rooms is not being done. My grandpa had red slime built up in his shower.

Transitioning from a home you love and have lived in for many years is always hard. For my 97 year old Mother it is time. Choosing to move her to and live in The Canopy at Duval Station has been a very good decision. All the staff has been great, could not ask for more, they have helped make the transition as easy as they could. The food is good, the amenities are good, and the residents are happy, friendly, and welcoming.

We are very excited for mom and her new apartment. She was at another community for the past year and was so unhappy. This community is such a wonderful change and although it is still new, if they keep up their hard work their rooms will all be filled and very possibly a waiting list! Congratulations Canopy staff you are really top knotch!
