The Colony Hotel, Miami Beach FL

We had a great time. Comfortable clean room. Comfortable beds and very friendly people at reception. We loved our stay cause is also so central right in south beach. Highly recommend.

Staff was friendly and incredibly helpful! It felt as if we had a glimpse in the past walk-in into this iconic hotel! Beautiful clean and right by the beach. If I could give this place more stars I would!

The receptionist is very rude - bold guy with mustaches, his wearing sunglasses at night talking crazy things at work, probably drunk at work.

Plus points were the location and building itself - lovely Art Deco typical of Ocean Drive. Beds were comfy, plus the member of staff checking in was a warm and friendly guy.

However. Minimal sound insulation between rooms with night staff seemingly allowing anyone off the street to enter the hotel at night with 4am wake-ups from individuals knocking and attempting to enter the room with my senior citizen mum petrified on the other side and no peep hole on the doors to see who is trying to get in - Imagine that. The noise being made was such that the night staff should have heard this as it was just down the hall - there are cctv cameras, which obviously either don't work, the staff don't watch them or they just couldn't care less.

I wouldn't expect this from a Motel 6.

Room 111 was awesome. The decor was great. Very clean and comfortable. Walk out the door to Ocean drive and the beach ️️️. Parking close by. And even better, Mangos is steps away. The manager Wes is awesome. Very polite and accommodating. We always stay here. Brought family from California here last year.

Claudio was very helpful helping us get into our room after a few minor inconveniences. He was very friendly and worked very fast.

Claudio at the front desk was very professional. Help answer a lot of questions. Rooms were clean. Was surprised being it was one-off the cheapest hotels on ocean drive:

It wasn’t the worst stay but it wasn’t the best. I checked in around midnight. Cius the guy who works at the desk was nice. The room was pretty cool. Seems like they renovated the place. So it’s kinda like a band aid over a cut.
I mean it’s pretty decent to be so old & it’s right on ocean drive. However, I did end my reservation to move to another location due to wifi going out. This affected me because I work from home.
They said the wifi wasn’t coming back on.

The bathroom! Omg this was the worst part. The bathroom was gross. It just felt nasty. Didn’t take my shoes off to shower. Very small. I just didn’t like it At All!

The room was decent, sheets clean, air worked well.
Mini fridge, direct tv (no Netflix), safe, small closet for clothes. Didn’t see any bugs or anything.

Elevator very small & old. This is not good for anybody in a wheelchair nor super duper fat.

Great location, but. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Basic hotel. Clean room and beach towels provided, which is excellent. Claudio has extended himself beyond just a staff. Very helpful and friendly. However, the room could be set to have luggage stand. Toiletries and shampoo stand are much needed in bathroom's shower area. Else, got to put shampoo on the floor. House-cleaning could do her. Found hair on the wall of shower area. Oceanfront room has a great view but the downside is it get blasting music from its surrou ding.

Beautiful art deco hotel with a amazing location right across from South beach.
Hotel and rooms are clean. They are in the process of reopening the bar and a new restaurant atm, so there is some building work going on.
The only downside for us was the noise, the walls and ceiling seemed thin, you could the people in the room above walking around all night long, every foot step, so our sleep was not great. If it hadn't been for the noise I would have given the hotel 5 stars.

Love the place in the middle of Ocean Dr. In front of the beach.the staff very nice.definitely I will come back. The rooms little small but perfect. Love that is pet friendly.

The colony is an older hotel but the staff kept it very clean and it was right across from the beach. The parking garage was located about two blocks away so it was fairly convenient when we wanted to see other parts of Miami. The staff at the Colony were getting up to speed on a new computer system and through the stress, they were still very gracious. A little bit of kindness, and providing them a couple cups of Cuban coffee made for an awesome experience. Thank you for making our first trip to South Beach a great memory that we will not forget.

This is such a terrible hotel that I have ever been in. First, the room was small. Second, there is no microwave. Third, there was a $68 hidden fee after you do the check out. Finally, there was no room service. So, if you stay for 3 days then you have to clean up the room yourself. There will be no new towels or bed sheets. If you stay longer then you have to stay with dirty towels or bed sheets for whenever until you leave. Also, the elevator is like very old fashion which you find it in the 80s. My advise is to stay away from this hotel. I would never book this hotel anymore.

Location is great but the crowds were much younger than expected. Monica was over the top.sweet and accommodating, the bell hop worth mentioning.sweet! The night guy with mustache.fabulous and the rooms clean and on trend with the deco feel

Me & my two besties arrived on a Saturday. Claudio was at the desk. He was very nice and explained everything (resort fees, towels, and elevator). He even gave each of us a bottled water! We took the elevator up (super neat & nostalgic). Our room was very clean and very cool. I’m from Texas but Florida heat is different! Monica was on duty the next morning and she was such a joy to talk to. She gave us some food tips. Every time we returned to hotel it was either Claudio or Monica- both always greeted us with a smile and asked how our day was. I witnessed Claudio being yelled at one night and he remained calm and respectful. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again. I have two friends that are seriously considering staying at Colony Hotel. When you are treated right, little things like a towel shortage or it being an older hotel, doesn’t matter. How you are treated makes you go back & refer to your friends. Thank you, Monica & Claudio for making this trip a great one. Without them, maybe 4 stars.

Also, it’s right next to a 24h CVS (Scarface stairs), in the middle of Ocean Drive, and about a 5 minute walk to the beach.
