The COOP reviews
16I was so heartbroken to learn of its closing. I was trying to send a friend there when I found out. Everyone we visited the area, we ate there. The second time I ate there, I drove my family from Tampa just to eat there, no other reason. They loved it! I hope Mr. Rivers will consider bringing it to Tampa or Riverview. I didn’t know it was part of 4 Rivers and We love that place as well!
PERMANENTLY CLOSED as of 7/16/23
Delicious food in a homey atmosphere.
Sorry to see this location closing down.
So sad to see The Coop go! Farewell! And if you feel up to it, come out to flamingo crossing area.
We managed to visit this place before it closed. The food was really good. The inside decor gave it a very southern charm and small town feel. The food took a little long to get to us but it was really good.
Sad to see this place close. Have made so many wonderful memories.
PLEASE REOPEN SOMEWHERE ELSE.
I'm sorry this location is closing. I hope they open a new one in the SODO area, where rent is cheaper.
This place is amazing. Serious down home southern cooking. The service is beyond polite and fast. The chicken is wonderful so is the catfish and the shrimp and grits.
The four sides are an outstanding meal.
They are owned by 4Rivers so if you love their BBQ imagine it as fried chicken.
I Will miss this place, but I'm sure it will "fly" in some where else in Central Florida
Friendly service and the food is good. I appreciate this restaurant acknowledging teachers for teacher appreciation week.
Anytime we were in this area, we stopped at the COOP and it was amazing. The staff was kind and personable. The food was scrumptious. There was never anything disappointing. Fast forward to today and we find out that they will be closing soon. We are so sad and we do hope they will re-open at another physical location. We sure could use a place like this in Tampa!
VERY SORRY TO SEE THIS PLACE CLOSE DOWN. I hope they open up a new location in Daytona Beach.
Breakfast was awesome! I had the pulled pork and potatoes and eggbowl with grits fabulous 4 rivers smokehouse pork.gritsare best on the planet
Loved everything we ordered. I had bacon & pecan pancakes w/ breakfast potatoes & jalapeños. The chicken portions are huge & tender. My daughter had chicken & a side of mac n cheese. Son had chicken & pancakes in place of waffles & my husband ordered a build your own bowl with biscuits. All 4 meals averaged $12 a piece!
Update: hours are much more limited, probably due to staffing. That aside, the food has suffered over the past year or two. As they've gotten more integrated with the main 4Rivers, the Coop has gone down.
Original: Good southern-inspired food. The bourbon maple syrup on the chicken and waffles is pretty great.
I’ll start with the good first, clean, quick and excellent staff.
The food was very disappointing. The fish fry coating on the fried green tomatoes is too crunchy and over powering, very unusual in not a good way was the horseradish sauce that accompanied it.
Chicken pot pie was very small, doughy on the top, only had white and yellow corn and chicken in a thin sauce. Was a good amount of white meat chicken but no potatoes or any other veggies. Should have been called a chicken n corn pie.
French fries cold, Mac n cheese mushy with no flavor.
Chicken tenders and drink selection good.
