The Disc Exchange reviews
14Was looking for a specific rarer album, saw this place and decided to stop in. The man who I assume was the owner was super helpful and polite, we had a nice conversation than he directed me to the section that the album I was looking for would be in. Wasn’t able to find what I came in for due to the rarity (obviously not the stores fault) but I still left with a smile a good experience and some new albums! 10/10 will come back
Great selection of vinyls, CDs, and cassette tapes with both new and used releases. Prices were cheaper than the big box stores and the sheer variety and volume of records cannot be matched. My gf and I spent 2 hours there going through the different boxes of records, it felt like a treasure hunt! We ended up getting an old Green Day release that I have never seen in stores before.
Good selection but needs to organize and his prices are a little high but overall I liked it
A one of a kind music store with MOUNTAINS of vinyl! Plenty of Cds too plus DVDs, cassettes, stereo equipment/turntables/tape decks as well as art work including Ts galore! Excellent serice and buy back policy, special orders with short time turn arounds ~
It's a cool spot IF you have time and spirit to do LOTS of digging. Some things are curated and there are new releases (back corber) but there are way more just stacked and stacked and in boxes. I'm sure the owner probably knows what's in every stack though so I'd just ask first, like I did. I found an album I'd not anywherer else!
I'd hit it on a rainy day when nothing else is happening. The AC was struggling on my 92degree visit. And the owner was wearing a mask but did not say anything about my lack of one.
So if you're looking for the new Lizzo album to play on your Crosley.this probably isn't your place.
I visit whenever I get a chance (as I just did today). It's a vast collection that's unmatched in the Tampa Bay area. The only thing more impressive is the owner's knowledge of both music and the location within store of any particular product you're looking for.
Over crowded with stuff. In a bad way, not a awesome wow way. So dusty and dirty, (and hot) really over priced. Had to leave right away because I couldn't breathe. Would have taken hours to look for anything. And in that mess of junk, no way for me.
I went yesterday to pick up an album for Record Store Day. He had exactly what I was looking for and I got even luckier when I opened the album for it to be the most special of the 3 that were made! The amount of music knowledge the owner has was really impressive to me. I ended up buying 3 other albums as well and will come back! I even found out about a preorder! Great store TONS of options! Thank you for making my first record store day experience great!
1st visit to this store I found the missing vinyls in random boxes to a 4 vinyl Christmas album. 2 of the vinyls were in bad shape and he wanted to charge an insane amount. Just pulls numbers out of a hat. Fine. Kept shopping. I hear him haggle kids over $5 on a no name vinyl. He makes up his prices as you go.
2nd visit was a similar interaction. After hours of climbing boxes, you hand him a vinyl for a price that is always overpriced.
3rd visit I was not allowed in because I didn't have a mask. The CDC has changed their policies on mask mandates.
You will spend alot of time trying to climb over boxes, sweating, just to find a vinyl just for him to tell you an exorbitant amount.
Enter at your own risk!
A mask was never offered!
I've always managed to find some good stuff here. However it's not the most shopable store because they have stacks of records in front of cd racks
The owner is nice enough and there's some deals to be found for sure.
Huge selection of CD’s and Vinyls! From new to vintage and the owner is a great person to talk too.
Great selection of records.make sure you have plenty of time so you can search the boxes! Friendly staff.
Completely disorganized. Every isle is stacked waist high with shipping boxes full of records so the CD racks are inaccessible. Don't bother going here, go to Sound Exchange instead, they have an online inventory as well.
Me and my daughter love buying cds from here for her collection! Super nice guy and covid safe.
