The DONNA Foundation reviews
2I will personally NEVER donate to the Donna Foundation again. I reached out 3 times during my cancer treatment and process, to be denied every time due to no funds available. I find that so hard to believe when I have friends that participate in these runs and fundraisers. I was given the numbers to other foundations. Not only did the case manager Kenny ONLY email me, saying that he has tried to reach out to me (that was a lie, and I called him out on it), but he was not empathetic at all during the process, I finally called the 800 number and spoke with another person, who tried to help, but again, no funds available. I am a single Mom who up until a month ago, have worked two jobs 7 days a week to make up for my unpaid time off, to maintain my mortgage, car payment, etc. I was diagnosed October 5,2020, double mastectomy November 20,2020, rushed back into emergency surgery November 21,2020 for internal bleeding, down almost 6 weeks for recovery. My cancer was diagnosed, I made the ONLY treatment choice logical to me, and being blessed for not having to take chemotherapy or radiation. What has hurt so deeply, that when I reached out to your foundation, I am made to feel as if my cancer was not severe enough to be able to receive assistance, just because I didn’t have chemotherapy or radiation, does not make me any less of cancer patient than friend who did. I will ONLY help a cancer patient themselves with either groceries, chores, or anything that is within my means. Your foundation sucks and those you have chosen as case managers have NO empathy towards a cancer patient. I am a cancer survivor, whether your foundation thinks my mastectomy is an active treatment or not.
It’s truly an inspiration for all these runners to come out and support “The Donna! ”
