The Edge Rock Gym, Jacksonville FL

Came here on a family vacation, fantastic place, really kind and helpful people. Really fun experience, I will definitely be coming here again.

Great place for some rock climbing. Nice people, just come prepared for the introduction video if it is your first time.

This is the first climbing gym in florida that felt like a home gym to me, so much so that I drove from St Augustine 2-3 times a week for the two months that I was in Florida. I began coming here as a relative beginner, having just started climbing regularly and training with purpose. I certainly saw improvements in myself within those two months.

The bouldering grades are hard and tend to require some muscle, so beginners be aware of that and don’t get frustrated. With repetition, I got stronger and was able to send more routes. The auto belay routes are great, and I really was able to build my endurance and skill with the array of fun grades that they set. Not that it’s all about grading, but I went from struggling up a 5.5 to sending most of the 5.7’s. The routes challenged me, but also helped me progress.

The fitness area is amazing, lots of space and variety, as well as a yoga room to stretch and cool down in peace. It had everything I needed to train alongside my climbing.

Finally, it’s a really welcoming gym. Every staff member is happy to help, welcoming, and kind. People are there to just climb and have fun, I never felt intimidated or unwelcome. I really wish I could just pick up The Edge and take it to New York with me, I was sad to leave it behind. I’ll always consider it the gym where I became a climber!

No mask mandate in Duval County. Both the WHO and CDC do not recommend masks during exercise, yet these folks are requiring you to restrict your breathing while doing exercise. Will never return.

My daughter is totally hooked on climbing. This is a nice gym with very nice people. Training video is a scream! LOL

Had a great time. Staff was friendly and leaves you to your own devices unless you need or want some help. The walls look intimidating and a bit confusing but once you get the hang of it its simple enough. The chalk is worth the cost if you plan on climbing more than a few walls.

Great time a lil crazy about mask.seeing how their service is providing a venue for an aerobic activity. Did no favors for my lactic acid buildup. Please though understand I still have it 5 stars because this was a personal nit pick and had little effect on the overall visit which we enjoyed alot.

Sort of a beginner's gym. The problems rely more on the grip of the individual pieces and the angles of the walls to produce straightforward and obvious problems, regardless of the course rating.

Shear size of the gym insures there are always a few gems to find though!

Very impressive climbing gym for North FL. The routes are laid out the correct way by color and well marked for grade. Everyone is masked up and they had staff on the floor. Great experience!

Awesome gym! Lots of options for routes and quick response from the staff when needed. It got crowded on a Thursday afternoon once school let out but we were still able to enjoy our time.

I love this place and the people so much. I'd live here if they let me. Also, the climbs are great and make you strong

I love the Edge. I've been climbing there for years and Im on the JV team and it's been the most amazing experience ever. The coaches and staff are amazing. They are doing a great job keeping everyone safe during COVID-19.

Friendly staff. They really keep an eye out for safety. Nice mix of top roping and bouldering. Fun routes and problems!
